Dad was a great guy. He inspired me to love swimming. He told me he smoked dope as a soldier in the Panama canal zone in the 1940's and I can still recall sharing a J with him in the backyard (so mom wouldn't find out). I still have his swimming medals he earned. He was a 9 to 5 guy....often absent - often too tired to do things...but overall, a good man. He died, too young, at age 68....of stomach/gut cancer. I've already had surgery there...so yea, it runs in the family.

Trust me, I'm not happy about it either!

But this did get me thinking...These politicians seem so false, fake with their moral pleas, while extolling large families and unplanned children within their own social group. So I assume that the wives of these men so tolerant as to accept sex and pregnancy, whether they're ready for it or not? Apparently, so. And a second thought; Do these politicians really think that the poor and ignorant should also be deprived of family planning tools? They also seem to oppose "planned parenthood" ...is it a punishment ethic that they seek for the poor and minorities?

The most "unscientific" comment is the last one; "No one wants to do any research - they just want to be right"... Good scientists admire, respect - and often appreciate being proven wrong. Unfortunately, many scientists are hounded by publicists...who want to get "headline news"- so they will "sensationalize" or "glorify" a finding to catch readers and gain a following...then get hired for better salaries. So let's be fair; good scientists expect to be proven wrong. It's the publicists who give people like DJT the right to say "fake news"...and sometimes be right! The best scientists publish their findings in prominent journals, welcome peer review and re-study, and will counter any exaggerated claims made from their findings politely, professionally, and at high levels of debate. A scientist isn't a paid position; it's being a super-critical thinker, tester, and writer. Whan you're first born, you're an "only child" for a while...you get all the attention. Wood is organic...it's going to dry and crack. try spreading the crack very gently with wedge of sorts, inserting some "Elmers" white glue (I think they have a specific formula for wood) then remove the spreading wedge, bind the piece, and let it dry in a sunny location (gentle heat).

The nearest black hole is 3000 light years away. The center of our galaxy is 50,000 light years away. I hate this talk of the possibilty of using black holes for travel. The nearest star is 4.5 light years away. If we could travel 1/1000th the speed of light...186 miles per second...it would still take 4,500 years to reach that star. So far, the fastest we've achieved in human space flight was 6.88 miles per second. So we're not even close to achieving any decent speed to go outside our solar system. Please don't let the sensationalist hype of any kind of space travel grab you. Even If I could figure out a way to go the speed of light...I wouldn't want to spend 4.5 years in a space ship to visit another star...even if it was proven that star had a twin earth....would you? This is the most contentious part of Global warming. So many don't see "sea level rise" as a threat. Only scientists, community demographers (planners) and those who have property close to the sea (as I do for all three) see this issue as important. Tides and waves makes it difficult to notice sea level rise. It only rears its' ugly head during major storms, When extreme low pressure inside hurricanes lifts the eye ocean levels dozens of feet...thrusting seas deep inland We will pay for our indifference. The solution will come when a Saffir-Simpson 5 comes ashore on the U.S. east coast; close to D.C. or NYC. Then, when the visuals will be stunning (buildings with all glass knocked out...major roads flooded, some skyscrapers tilted or taken down) we will see legislation to curb CO2/fossil fuel use. I'm afraid to wish for something like this....because I can see the sea from my home...

You may recall I commented earlier that I loved C.R...I just made the awful mistake of renting a car. the roads were awful...and I got stopped and frisked by cops...twice. (about 7-8 years ago). I Loved Arenal, and the hot springs there were a cut above anything I've ever experienced...please. email me the tour people names and/or phone/email? thanks.

I've been married 4 times. I fell in love at least 6 times. Call me the marrying man. Call me in a hurry to reach success with a woman partner. But I've loved and lost....I guess you could say I've struck out 4 times. What about the other two? Well, the count is nebulous. The first one - my college sweetheart - died...we were doing OK.....when the early, toxic birth control pill took its' toll.... So I fell in love again. This time I wanted a son. Success. A good marriage for more than a decade....then....I was a single dad. She left me and us. So I fell in love again. This time to a woman with 2 of her own. Bad chemistry with the kids and us equaled failure. So I fell in love again. To a hottie with no kids...and a bad habit...too much alcohol. I've been married a total of nearly 30 years...OK...to 4 different women. It was great in terms of the variety of life I experienced....it was terrible when the relationships ended. I've never said it was more their fault than mine. I've always said it was 50-50.... So I fell in love again. Are you counting? This time no marriage. I'd already struck out 4 times...I didn't see eye-to-eye with her....so we're "friends with benefits"...I love her....then I hate her...then I love her...I'm sure you know what I'm talking about. And I finally fell in love - with myself...this one's working out great so far!

Laugh all you want. I don't think this is funny - I look at it as a naive dig at those who want to move ahead with energy production. The Green Dream will employ many more people. Solar panels and wind-generators will harvest the sun's power with minimal heat production. Waterflow generation will expand to tidal and wave flow generation What we do now is use family planning to slow down the 158 more births, than deaths, per minute... No...we don't speed up deaths....we slow down births. The Extreme Green Dream will have the military gone. Money spent wisely. Curbs on greed - the perfect addiction. ZPG...don't get me started....
