If you are atheist, what information led you to this?
RoboGraham comments on Mar 6, 2018:
It's not a matter of evidence leading me to atheism but rather a lack of evidence allowing me to remain an atheist.
Not long ago.
RoboGraham comments on Feb 18, 2018:
That sums it up.

Intercultural Miscommunication?
RoboGraham comments on Feb 17, 2018:
When I was in Germany, my best friend needed to brush his teeth but he was out of tooth paste. So he used a local German brand. After several days off using it, we hadn't heard a complaint out of him but we made some Italian friends who had an interesting observation. They noticed that the tooth paste he was using was actually denture glue and they laughed as if the world was ending. We did remember him saying that"this German tooth paste really doesn't lather like ours does.

You're much more likely to die in a car wreck than be killed by another person but do you let that risk stop you from driving?
Does being agnostic and atheist make us less fearful?
RoboGraham comments on Feb 16, 2018:
I think a lack of fear is sort of a prerequisite for atheism because people have to be brave when confronting the fact that everlasting existence isn't true. Otherwise, they won't turn away from the religion. People also have to have a lack of fear to be liberal because change is scary and so is thinking outside the box when society discourages it. So I think the lack of fear allows people to develop both atheistic and liberal thought processes. The two go hand and hand.
Gun control? Yes or no and why?
RoboGraham comments on Feb 16, 2018:
I like guns, I own guns, and I would like to see regulations tightened.
What is the real problem (about guns)?
RoboGraham comments on Feb 16, 2018:
Your argument about not restricting guns because there are other dangerous items that can be used to kill people is like saying "why bother trying to cure cancer when there are other dangerous diseases that people die of".
A sobering chart .... how do we fix this !??
RoboGraham comments on Feb 15, 2018:
We need to make it mandatory that all people, especially children, carry at least two automatic weapons at all times. The best way to prevent being shot is to shoot someone before he/she has an opportunity to shoot you. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MWA0rukqrYQ&t=157s

Who had their infant child circumcised and why?
RoboGraham comments on Feb 5, 2018:
I had it done at age 26. I had phimosis which means the opening is not large enough for the head to fit through comfortably. It's more of an ordeal to have it removed as an adult so I wish it had been done when I was an infant. However, it was nothing compared to other operations I've had.
Please excuse my ham-handedness at handling this subject.
RoboGraham comments on Feb 5, 2018:
A good policy is to simply ask her. If given the go ahead, you can move forward without fear, knowing that she is on board. Verbal communication will keep you out of trouble.

If you could change your legal name easily and for free, would you? If so, to what?
RoboGraham comments on Feb 5, 2018:
I would absolutely change my name because I am a junior. My name is the same as my father's and I have no respect for him so I would much rather have my own name but its complicated to change that. So far, since I was 17, I've just used my name without putting the junior on the end and that has worked just fine so I'm ok with it for now.

Can an agnostic and an atheist marry?
RoboGraham comments on Feb 4, 2018:
I'd agree to tie the knot if she'd agree to see reason. Jk. I'd never marry anyone. I don't believe in legally tying two lives together in such a way.
I don't understand this: How is it I have been single for 1 year and 9 months, and have not been ...

How well do you think you can get to know someone through online communication only?
RoboGraham comments on Feb 4, 2018:
When creating an online persona, people have the benefit of putting only their best self forward in a way that would not be possible in face to face interaction. When chatting, you have time to think through each response and their is no body language available to gather information. Therefor, I don't believe it's possible to get to know a person to their core with online interaction only. Even if the person is being as genuine as possible, there is simply less information at hand to draw from when making a judgement about a person.
What are your thoughts about women changing their last name after marriage?
RoboGraham comments on Feb 4, 2018:
I think the last names of the two people should be merged to create a new name and both should take on that new name.
Football, Kneeling and Respect
RoboGraham comments on Feb 4, 2018:
The kneeling during the anthem is a very effective protest. It's nonviolent and very public. You can argue that it is disrespectful but in doing so, you are adding to it's publicity. Just as the protesters intended. I hope they keep it up and it becomes a mainstay of all sporting events until issues of inequality are appropriately dealt with.
Any men rights activists here?
RoboGraham comments on Feb 4, 2018:
I recently got into a youtube comment war with one of these MGTOW ignoramuses. He claims that women only get married in order to divorce rape men and that the entire Meetoo movement only exist to falsely accuse men and ruin their lives, as well as many other despicable things. This all started because it called a jeopardy contestant cancer because she defeated two guys and won several games.

Facing Pain
RoboGraham comments on Feb 1, 2018:
Although I have much to cry about, it almost never happens. I think the reason why is because, when I was growing up, crying was seen as exceedingly weak and would be met with ridicule or worse. So, although I recognize that crying is an essential behavior at the core of humanity, when I'm in the company of someone crying, I feel very uncomfortable. Crying in the company of others is unthinkable to me so when I'm with someone who is crying, I don't know how to respond and then I feel embarrassed. It's an emotional deficiency and I hope that people stop raising children that way.

Spiritual Athiest/Atheist dating question
RoboGraham comments on Jan 31, 2018:
I'd say that, yes he should be respectful about your beliefs, However, you should also keep your mind open to what he has to say. You are an atheist, so you understand how ridiculous religion is. No offense but, frankly, the belief in anything in the realm of the supernatural is just as silly.
What is your favorite cartoon show?

Do we really value free speech anymore?
RoboGraham comments on Jan 30, 2018:
When a college decides not to host a political speech, that does not limit the speakers freedom of speech. They are under no obligation to provide a platform for anyone to speak from. It's not like the college is putting a gag order on the speaker. Colleges can freely choose which speakers they feel are worthwhile for their students. I haven't been given the opportunity to speak at a college but you don't see me getting butt hurt and saying that my freedom of speech has been infringed upon. Also, people asking you to stop speaking does not limit your free speech. They are using their free speech to tell you to shut up. You are free to continue talking and they are free to continue telling you to stop.

The emotional argument for abortion- Babies born to mothers who don't want to be mothers grow up to be lawless hooligans who will refuse to git off yer lawn! Emotional argument for gay marriage- Gay dudes who aren't able to marry their lovers will probably marry women to keep up appearances which means there are fewer fish in the sea for the rest of us! Emotional argument for DACA- If they send Rosa back to Guatemala who will wash your dishes and clean your floors?! Emotional argument for atheism- God is an asshole, if you don't believe in him, maybe he will leave you alone!

GOP Rigs Elections: Gerrymandering, Voter-ID Laws, Dark Money - Rolling Stone
RoboGraham comments on Jan 28, 2018:
This cheating of democracy is reprehensible and these issues need to be addressed and fixed. I have three proposals that would help to even things out. First, Washington DC and Puerto Rico ought to be given statehood. Each has more than the minimum population to qualify and currently citizens there are not given appropriate representation. Both would almost certainly vote Democrat which is a very big reason why they have not yet been made states. Second, Election Day out to be a Federal holiday. It would give most everyone the day off so that the maximum number of voters will have the opportunity to vote. Because high voter turnout is correlated with electoral victory for Democrats, this will help to erode the unfair stranglehold on power that Republicans have. Also, it would give us a day to celebrate our democracy. Patriotic Americans should be proud of this republic. Is one day once every other year too much to ask? Third, voter registration ought to be automatic. Why add extra hassle? Every citizen should be added to the voter roles without need to request it in advance.
What is your opinion on capital punishment?
RoboGraham comments on Jan 28, 2018:
Capital punishment is illogical. Killing is wrong, we can all agree on that. If a person kills another person and societies response is to kill the killer then society has committed the same crime as the killer. Two wrongs don't make a right. Society should not be advocating murder by engaging in it. I believe that is one reason why states which allow the death penalty have higher murder rates. it sends the message that life is cheap rather than sacred. Also, wouldn't it be a more fitting punishment for the killer to waste away in a cage until the end comes naturally, slowly, painfully? And it's cheaper to keep someone locked up for a lifetime than it is to execute.
Should crime be (just) punished?
RoboGraham comments on Jan 27, 2018:
If compensation becomes a focal point in the justice system as you have described, I think false accusations will became a huge problem. People will see opportunities to profit and will find ways take advantage of the system. Large sums of money being at stake will make it more difficult for justice to be impartial.

RoboGraham comments on Jan 27, 2018:

Not to mention the massive discrimination in education that still persist to this day.
Is it worth moving to a blue state?
