Howdy!
I was born and raised Catholic but never believed in a god, per se. With all of the other gods that have come and gone what made ours so special?
I support the right for anyone to believe as they choose and live their life accordingly but they don't have the right to choose my beliefs for me or anyone else.
Whatever the agreement exists between consenting adults is between them and not for me to judge.
To paraphrase the Declaration of Independence, "I believe these truths to be self-evident, that all PEOPLE are created equal." It saddens me that, in this day and age, people are still judged by the color of their skin, sexuality, religion, origin of birth, etc. However, I am given hope knowing that the "Age of Reason" is not dead and there are many that I am unaware of that still believe in science and reason. Are there things that are unexplained, of course there are, and striving to understand our universe is an honorable goal.
I was on submarines in the Navy and we had a saying that either all of us make it or none of us do. I view the planet as a submarine hurtling through the universe, all of us in our protective shell. Either we learn to live together, with each other and the planet, or humanity is no more special all of the other species and civilizations that have thrived and then became extinct. I think we have a choice to survive or not and either one is valid. I would prefer than we survive but something new and improved always follows.
I have completed one year of recovery, physical and financial, from treatment of HPV related tonsil cancer and things are progressing smoothly.
I've recently begun leather working with a couple of completed projects for friends. There's so much to learn and I get better with each one, I think.
I have never written my bio before so I think I just rambled but I'll leave to others to determine if it piques their interest.
Thanks for taking the time to read this.
