99% of school shootings were done by males . How do we get them to stop ?
Silver1wun comments on Jun 7, 2018:
Many thoughts.on this and for some years. Most of my thoughts are politically incorrect and therefore dismissed out-of-hand. Of the 1% ascribed to females, one can also add that they are very different and far less destructive. Females *know who they are after and why.* When the target/s been hit, they're done; no random murder without reason, as with males. The security budgets in schools could be slashed by almost 50% by making one change that would have some ancillary benefits in both reduced deadly violence and better learning. Have separate schools for males and females beginning at 5th. Grade until graduation from twelfth grade. Females learn better and participate more without presence of males in classrooms and concentrate more on academics in schools wherein personal appearance isn't competitive. Males act-out aggressively amongst themselves naturally and get into disputes and fights. When females are present, many of the fights are motivated by disputes for attention and efforts to show-off for them. Jealousies and competition arise and the humiliation factor multiplies. Boys compete, fight, win and lose routinely without the deep levels of humiliation among only other boys; therefore less fixated, vengeful emotions that, if repeated can fester and be acted out in extreme violence. Girls' schools would only need entry security; cutting budgets by about half. This suggested remedy would be only a band-aid, but society as we know it isn't yet prepared for prevention. Ways by which these violent young men are manufactured aren't understood and if they were, solutions would be even more politically and religiously unacceptable than the suggestion above. We are at least decades, if not centuries, away from that level of awareness and willingness to *act* on the basis of the knowledge.

Is social media ruining peoples ability to connect?
Silver1wun comments on Jun 5, 2018:
The Internet does allow introverts to connect mentally and as emotionally as they'll allow themselves, without ACTUALLY connecting. In that way it reinforces their apprehensions about physical, in-person contact while still allowing safe communication they'd otherwise miss altogether. For others, it is an arena wherein we can screen one another without the usual, in-person distractions of physical attraction and conjuring of unrealistic fantasies; without, for females, having to end up in a wrestling match with somebody afflicted with multiple personality disorder; without having to be encouraged by a few early 'dates' only to discover some ugly truths that should have been a priori.. It has only been about sis months, but I LOVE this site. So many wonderful thinking and thought provoking women are here. In any small locality they are rare. Unfortunately, I think that is why there is so much distance between them; making social interaction in person difficult. Getting to know fascinating women at a distance is far better than not at all or settling for activities with women who's hot topics are latest movies, television, shopping, their grandkids, their herd political activities, finding 'that one' to take care of them or just looking for somebody to come visit and leave in the morning... Nothing wrong with that stuff for those enjoying it, mind you. Obviously there are a lot of men and women here who'd be delighted with some of those examples of 'good times' and so be it. Seems one doesn't need the Internet for it though. It's everywhere. As mentioned, my experience is only six months. Nothing of any value comes easily or over-night. I'm expecting to make some interesting female friends here; some distant and some closer and perhaps among closer, someone who is complete in herself and compatible for sharing a more intimate relationship. If the latter doesn't happen it won't be nearly as tragic as having never known it; especially with good, stimulating friends and activities.

Though very disappointed with the ruling, after reading it I had to agree that if one, The First Amendment of the Bill of Rights conflicted with two, the Civil Rights Act of 1964, that alone, depending as in this case, on the circumstances, would allow the Amendment to trump (very intended) the later, more specifically focused act. They considered the aggressive way it was pursued and with an anti-religious motive as well. I don't like religion interfering with or annoying me in the course of daily life any less than any other typical non-believer. For optimal progress toward secularity and away from superstition requires education and the most effective form of education is example. It is the constitution that provides now and will more so in the future, protection of non-belief on a par with belief. One other part of this with which I was uncomfortable was the over-kill aspect and I think it worked against the case ultimately. If a merchant or service business breaks the law and discriminates about who is entitled to all of their services and who is not, it isn't egregious enough to warrant six figure lawsuits and devastating of their lives as punishment. It should be an 'in proportion' fine and either suspension or revocation of their business license. Being put out of business or forced in suspension to modify what is offered* to all* should be sufficient.
In 2009, a sad/funny/weird/scary thing happen to me while on a dating site date.
Silver1wun comments on Jun 5, 2018:
The most I'm willing to do on a first meeting is mutual screening at lunch or perhaps a picnic somewhere quiet and conversation conducive. Unless I've gotten a acquainted face to face at a first meeting, nothing that could be construed as 'romantic' or a 'date' will happen. Depending on how much conversation on the net and over how much time, I might consider the zoo, shooting pool on a nice afternoon at some comfortable bar. If * really feeling good * about them before a first meeting, I might be open to inviting them on a double date with two of my friends who will also be 'screening'. In the rarest of circumstances, and I mean rare such as she is too far away to travel to meet only and then travel again for an initial date, if mutually agreeable, I'd go somewhere about half-way to meet in an interesting town or city for 2-3 days, with separate rooms or places to stay, perhaps even local friends or relatives for one or both of us to include some of the time. Sounds probably a bit old fashioned to some, but even early-on, one ought to be careful about allowing another person to create unrealistic expectations, not shared but rooted in their personal fantasies. The cop you described is sure afflicted in that regard.

What many consider a 'day' in this reference is 'God's day'. In another part of the writings a day to the god is considered equal to a thousand years to men. Believers also confuse the description of death and resurrection alleged as a period of three days because it was written that Jesse 'arose on the third day'. Hebrew day ends at sunrise. Estimated time of his death was around 3/4 int the afternoon. After sundown would have been the second day already making the beginning of the 'third day' when he allegedly arose about any time after sundown Saturday. There is only about a day and less than a half on the inside..

The Internet is already smashing some icons and severely cracking others, without being compromised. It is admittedly taking awhile, but information that is verifiable and conflicting with many sacrosanct 'narratives' is available. Some of the best of it is on youtube. I like youtube because one can ask that classic question of self and others: "What am I going to believe; the narrative or my 'lyin' eyes?" Chief among them is what is (and has been) going on in Palestine and what happens in our streets that is being billed as 'peaceful'.

Partisan cattle ALWAYS go into full panic mode when they lose. Left and Right lunatic fringes whine and throw juvenile tantrums and insult in every childish way possible the person chosen by the people under our system.. This time only seems more strident because the whiners have full sympathy and support of the press; but the hysteria is no different. If the party-loyal, ideologically obedient minions of their respective, corrupt masters ever do represent a majority, the Republic and what is left of our constitution will disintegrate. It matters not whether they are a hardened Socialist/Communist fanatic or a Fundamentalist Theological fanatic. The bottom line on them all is: Any of them would violate ANY constitutional principle they thought necessary to advance their ignorance laced ideologies. "We the People' of this republic always choose our chief executive from the middle. The non-affiliated, level headed adults in the socio-political mainstream always hold our collective noses and determine which of the corrupt candidates for Plantation Manager will be hired. The partisans only control who the two 'choices' will be. At least they did until the last election. Corrupt or not, because all politicians are corrupted as a first order of business in D.C., Trump pulled it off and the 'king-makers' lost control. They feed infantile pap to party loyal zombies on both sides and are doing all possible to pull-off a nonviolent (save assassinations) coup; attempting to strangle the People's choice in red tape and baseless inuendos. Really fun to watch!

I'd work on self respect and self love and admiration. Because if you are prepared to counterfeit who you are to please a woman who doesn't show respect or tolerance for your differences, you both appear to share the same dim point of view and valuation of... you. Bargain away what little of yourself you hold in esteem this time and you'll have even less to 'bring to the table' next time.

The most important one to 'forgive' is yourself for either having misjudged the other or for really knowing on a deeper level and not allowing yourself to confront it out of some illusion of probable loss by doing so. Trust is only half trust as it applies to the other. The other half is self-trust in your own perceptions and judgments. Only we can be responsible for that half. It is 'we' that will be with us for the rest of life and therefore more important to make peace at home and learn from it. The other is irrelevant after separation.

Israel isn't the only terrorist state or group. It is just the only one that depends on our support to carry them out. I'm NOT a Leftist. Casual relationship
Silver1wun comments on May 31, 2018:
Monogamous to whom? Casual to me means social, sharing of interests and activities and no obligations beyond honoring plans to get together. It also means either I or any of those causal female friends might or might not have a closer, non-casual relationship with another person that includes exclusive sexual intimacy. The question is what would I call it? I'd call it premature. I call it mutual short-selling. The attitude isn't rooted in prudishness at all. Many jump to that conclusion. Casual sex can be a great experience compared to no sex. The same can be said for other kinds of exhilarating experiences providing a secondary short-cut to a 'settled for' substitute. Artifice always delays or prevents progress toward what is genuine. All, admittedly, are not addictive types. For those who are, the roots of addiction are to be found in substitutes. One never gets enough of a substitute emptiness gradually grows. So little of what's authentic is required to satiate; causing fulfillment and relaxation.
What do you do before a date ?
Silver1wun comments on May 31, 2018:
Try to put a slightly better than average foot forward, if it is the first date. A 'best foot' for anyone might make a best impression, but will be temporary unless one actually lives it 24/7/365. It's mildly disingenuous to lead off that way. I try not to over-dress, depending of course on the destination. On a first date it is good to get most of the fundamental, possibly problematic things swept out of the way. I disclose them sooner and save wasting time and hurting of feelings later. Being atheist is a big one for many, so spill it ASAP. If, like me, there are other things one knows to be peculiar to others, there's no better time than a first meeting. Second dates will be a lot fewer but will contain much higher enjoyment and exciting possibilities.

Silver1wun comments on May 31, 2018:
Never been a band parent but am strongly in favor of music education; especially encouraging them to compose and seek new genres. This 'Rock and Roll' thing is really getting borrrrring. Between 1900 and a950 American music took the world by storm and not in just one genre. We went into Ragtime to Jazz to Tin Pan Alley popular music also *called Jazz* to Blues including distinctive sounding 1920's-30's bands playing all of it, to Swing and the later, more homogenized Big Band styles of the 1940's. Rock and Roll emerged in the early 50's and held for a couple of decades with some really creative times until... electronics and computers began replacing people, gradually to the point where people have largely become a minority in their own 'native' form of expression. They still call much of it Rock and Roll or some form of 'rock'. Really, it's been 68 years and the few bands comprised entirely of humans making the sounds are usually young men dressed as alien as possible, jumping around strumming the ever present three or more guitars, screaming and whining into mics, with some guy banging drums, rolling his head and shaking his hair like a lunatic. Grand Funk Railroad et al were doing this stuff, only better, in the 70's. Maybe they don't get emotionally involved in their kids' music because music itself has lost so much human emotion in the real adult world; so much alive, human resonance to the water torture perfect percussion of sound beds and synthesized tones phrased redundantly within the dead tempo? At least the 'jock' parents know that the impossible odds their kids must compete against in gaining fame will allow them to show talents personally without interference by or subjection to machines. Who knows? The future of real music NEEDS some talented, visioned young artists. Maybe people are getting so subconsciously weary of the emotionless drone of electronics that they are hungry for it and will migrate toward it. By playing old recordings of young people in the past making real music, some truly interesting responses and comments happen. Very young people come up and ask if I played it, complement it, (as though I'm the musician or something) and say they really like how it sounds. People all around will unconsciously and involuntarily move to it and 'catch themselves', laugh and start moving more. NO KIDDING. Many places have these Internet connected players that allow searches. Try it yourselves. BRING THE BAND KIDS. Long past time for me to shut up this rant. Here's only one early swing sample by a strict tempo British Orchestra. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ooi38_R6IGc

Unfortunately, 1918 wouldn't be all that much further in the past, but I'd take it. Some of my favorite people and *all of my favorite music* were in their prime then.
Children and statistics that are living below poverty level.
Silver1wun comments on May 31, 2018:
This now makes at least some sense of why Israel so busies itself using weapons we give them to kill Palestinian children. I misunderstood, thinking it to be ethnic cleansing and, as they joke about it, 'mowing the grass'. That is an embarrassing statistic.
Where do you go when you need a break from everyone?
Silver1wun comments on May 31, 2018:
IF, I felt that way very strongly (never do), I'd head for a church. Most of the time they're empty and anybody there isn't going to bother you if you don't have long white robes and a beard. Being an old bastard with white hair is even more insurance. Just find one in a neighborhood where nobody knows you. :)
I’d like my coffee without extra Jesus in it, please.
Silver1wun comments on May 31, 2018:
Hey, didn't Jesus walk on water? Seems like if he's in the coffee it would smell and taste a bit like feet. Glory!
Anybody else here?
Silver1wun comments on May 31, 2018:
Well, no actually I wasn't, but heard your question while passing by out there. Looks like you're the only one here. I can understand why you're asking. Anyway, If you don't mind, I'll just pick up my 'double points', wish you a good day and be about business. Thanks for asking. :) Oh, drat! Got beat to them.. Well better than none, right?
Who here is intelligent?
Silver1wun comments on May 30, 2018:
It is like mint, or cilantro. Too much of it will 'take over' and message will fade, along with flow or progression of thoughts. Used as a startling and* meant to be* form of punctuation, profanity can support and emphasize. Otherwise, um, it can, like you know, totally um, degrade both message and messenger.
Nostalgic music.

Question.
Silver1wun comments on May 30, 2018:
The question itself should embarrass more than the notion of a possible invisible spectator. This site doesn't bill itself as a place to expect the question to get serious answers. A revival tent might work better. All of the elements are there. The question would be taken seriously by leaders who are both kinky and always have their hands out...
What's a small thing someone has said to you that made you feel good?
Silver1wun comments on May 30, 2018:
Early eighties I worked as a rape crisis counselor volunteer for about a year or so. About ten/twelve years later, a young woman approached me in a pharmacy and asked "You probably don't remember me. You're Robert?" Answered yes, still trying to make a mental connection. At that point she told me her name and reminded me of the connection, thanking me in possibly the most warm, touching way I've ever experienced. We hugged for a moment and she was on her way. Small things. Short cherished moments.
I once paid 80 dollars an hour to a cuddling service provider whom I met in the cinema.
Silver1wun comments on May 30, 2018:
Nature makes us whole within ourselves and eligible to create relationships that function on the basis of sharing of 'wholes' to become a greater holon. As the saying goes: 'The whole is always greater than the sum of its parts'. It is an intrinsic bonding likewise formed from respective 'withins'. It is total surrender of body and mind to the greater wholeness. Turning it into a trade relationship, as in a business deal or typical marriage, is the antithesis; toxic at best and lethal at worst. Trading and promises make of it by definition a non-trusting phenomenon wherein sharing is lost and replaced by 'give and take', the balance of which has a short shelf life; ultimately leading to stasis. This is not to say many trading or business deal type of relationships aren't strong, conditionally rewarding or long lasting. Nor does it mean that love, respect and trust are entirely absent. It is, at root, still adversarial cooperative, as in 'trust but verify'. The difference between the two fundamentally different phenomena remind me of an old Swedish saying relating not to different relationship DNA's but still expresses the quality of difference on the bottom line. "Shared sorrow is half sorrow. Shared joy is double joy."
Just a for anyone who might be messaging here.

What is beautiful to you?
Silver1wun comments on May 29, 2018:
Self love and respect. Kindness and boundless curiosity. Love of life's many forms. With these, other secondary attributes are guaranteed; things like respect, loyalty, tolerance, trustworthiness and such utter comfort in her presence that total surrender to her hasn't the slightest bit of apprehension. Actually meeting her? I should live so long...
Gentlemen, could you please give me some insight concerning unsolicited pictures of male genitalia?
Silver1wun comments on May 28, 2018:
Physically he might qualify as a man but behaviorally he's more like an adolescent. All too many males arrest at that level. It is just another sad example of how the pathogenic process called 'civilizing', overseen by religious and idealistic organizations and the sick men who lead them, is a profoundly damaging process. Some of us can escape and repair and some not. Of the many destructive anti-life behaviors males exhibit, at least this one doesn't claim random strangers' lives.
Never Apologize For Your Feelings

Sad how many females in our society have been 'beaten down' to a level that makes such self-abandonment routine. More need to multi-task their middle finger and more often. :)

If You Only Had One Wish
Silver1wun comments on May 28, 2018:
For the world to have 85% of my sex vanish from the face of Planet Earth; starting with political and religious leaders and teachers, followed by those most susceptible to acting out violently when confronted with facts. If 85% cuts deeply enough to include me, SO BE IT! Surviving males would also benefit from a more natural status, doing what we are better equipped for than leadership. That being peer status as breeders, protectors and secondary providers. The ratio would assure majority female leadership and a higher value placed on men for awhile; long enough to prevent any future notions about male supremacy. One wish. o.k. maybe only 80% :)

Flat Earthers. Seriuosly?
Silver1wun comments on May 28, 2018:
Nothing special here, particularly 'en mass'. Many groups and even more individuals shelter themselves within the bounds of fantasy to avoid aspects of objective fact/reality for which they aren't emotionally equipped. Such is the damage that afflicts us all, as members in good standing of 'right thinking and moral living'. Most damage is correctable and we're equipped with the cognitive tools for making repairs. Good 'theraputic' practitioners with effective modalities put us in touch with those tools. In the probably distant future, with growing understanding of the functional unity of body and mind, modalities will also unite and greatly expand efficacy. Until that time, we must be our own judges, or shoppers and carefully, oh so carefully and courageously, fill-in the gaps.
Is contentment a mini-death?
Silver1wun comments on May 28, 2018:
Feelings of contentment are indicative of over-all homeostatic balance. That is as good as it gets.
What will you do if Trump gets re-elected for a second term?
Silver1wun comments on May 28, 2018:
Based on his administration's economic improvements, November should be a bloodbath. In some parts of the country, primary registrations are showing significant shifts in party affiliations to Republican. I'm independent, but it makes a great 'stereo' perspective. Six years is way too far to predict and lots of time for opposition desperation to manifest in some very destructive ways if his domestic policies continue to improve conditions. I despise his Middle East policies and even though ambivalent at times about his foreign policies 'trans-Pacific', they are bearing some extraordinary fruit; previous administrations didn't even come close. As Trump often says, 'we'll see'.

Will Democracy correct itself in the United States?
Silver1wun comments on May 23, 2018:
This is not a Democracy and the designers of our political system took special care to prevent it becoming a Democracy. It has decayed as a Republic because they were not quited thorough enough. One safeguard that has backfired and made our system more Democratic; thus more toward organized mob rule was amending the Constitution to allow Senators to be elected at large instead of being chosen by their respective state legislatures. Now Senators have to join the lying contest and compromise themselves to financial interests like the whoring people's 'representatives' in the House. What's the point? Now the Democrat rabble want to do away with another protection called the Electoral College. It was well known by all educated people at the time of this nation's birth, that Democracies were doomed to fail. Today, the undereducated, indoctrinated fools turned out by our alleged system of public education worship the ideas of both Democracy and Collectivism; neither of which work or support a thriving economy or personal liberties. Yes, we're doomed. Only a matter of time.

Where is the warrant for the arrest of ASSAD...on his war crimes?
Silver1wun comments on May 23, 2018:
The world and more ironically, the Arab world sit on their hands while the most powerful military in the region periodically bombards unarmed men, women and children in one of the most densely populated areas in the world. Gaza is the largest open air prison/ghetto in the world. It has no army, no tanks, no warplanes, no warships, no attack helicopters, no guided missiles, and most importantly nowhere to run when the occupiers of their country decide to attack them with the most sophisticated conventional weaponry known to humankind. There has been no proof, beyond the incessant Western media barrage of accusations and pronouncement of his guild sans evidence, that Assad has used or even still possesses chemical weapons. Oh, but don't dare question the veracity of the wholly owned and manipulated western press. The very (last two) times Assad was pronounced guilty of gassing his own people were exactly when he was at a superior strategic advantage in Syria's civil war/insurgency; making him the last party to possibly benefit from bringing reproach and condemnation upon himself from the rest of the world. Last time was within a week of when President Trump announced withdrawal of US presence in Syria.
So sad that so many people in our country are so gullible to believe the conservative bullshit
Silver1wun comments on May 22, 2018:
There's plenty of bullshit to go around on both lunatic fringes. In this example one sees how others do not see. To some, hard work is hard toil; something which makes us less for having done it and an exchange for something of material value as consolation for the toil. Hard work means so much more. In fact, it would be better described as 'smart work', the kind that is not only more productive and higher earning, but which is a pleasure edifying one for having gone through the process of execution. It doesn't create a feeling of fatigue, but of restfulness during which one re-charges and tentions toward the next discharge.
Interested in friendship with like-minded intellectual who is open to ideas that are well-reasoned.

A Pastor and his 2 wives believe the Bible supports their relationship With 19 and 60 Year Old.
Silver1wun comments on May 22, 2018:
I'm not put-off by people forming families of various structures freely and based on shared love and respect for one another. The hitch for me is that of the male automatically being considered 'head' of the family and/or imposing his will on it as though he has extra entitlement. Polygamy, for example, as we know it is always a family headed by a male who 'possesses' numbers of wives and who determines how the family and household will function. This is already ass-backwards in conventional, monogamous families. So then it is expanded and repeated when female members are added? How and why? It seems far more natural for a family to have a female or females directing the family and a male (if polygamus) or more males (in the case of polyandry) subordinate to family and wives needs. The creep in the picture ads nothing but infamy to family structuring that transcends the pathogenic paradigm by which societies comprise themselves.
Why, at 52 years old, I feel like I've never been truly loved?
Silver1wun comments on May 22, 2018:
Because by the age of 52 you probably haven't been truly loved by you? In my view, that's where it begins and so many of us are crippled in that ability so early in life that we don't even understand what a vital role it plays in attracting love from others.
Does anyone else believe that being physically close and emotionally open is the key to a good ...
