@Pbpierson2 Although I had just done a post in the conservative group on this, if you are interested Minds.com is a good site with far less censorship than most other social medias. Minds has become a haven for conservatives. Some of us on here have Minds for a backup due to some of our fellow conservatives who had their accounts on here deleted for reasons unknown. This isn't the most friendly site for right leaning views, for sure.

Touche Mr Tiger. Deplorable- definition: A word used by Democrats to describe hard working Americans who believe in self responsibility, checks on government power, and individual liberties;)
SpikeTalon replies on Jan 5, 2019:
@snytiger6 Not all constitutional patriots violate the rights of others, and when Hillary Clinton made that comment she didn't leave room for exceptions. When he was in office, Obama overreached his power too, sounds like politics as usual there, pick a side any side they're both corrupt... I would be such an exception by the way. I come from a long line of Democrats, and sadly there are some bigots in my family, being a liberal Democrat doesn't shield one from forming biased opinions. On the flip side there, for as conservative as I can be at times, for as long as I can remember I've always been pro reproductive rights and pro gay rights. I think you are referring to the religious zealots there when you said about having a lack of respect for others, and as I've said before secular conservatives/libertarians are different than the religious conservatives are.

@Robecology I would like to think that both care about our Constitutional rights, but the progressives on the left make me think twice about that though. The Constitution may be unclear to those who have not studied history, and I don't automatically assume a majority of Americans support what the Constitution says. The door could swing both ways on that, and I judge based on actions and not just words uttered. I get your point though. Truth be told, I'm not a far-right conservative, my overall views align best with Libertarian views. Both extremes can be too much after awhile.

SpikeTalon replies on Jan 2, 2019:
When progressive gun controllers talk about amending the Second Amendment, I'm inclined to believe that they don't really care about our Constitutional rights. I know the definition of the word progressive, and most modern day progressives have horribly skewed the meaning of that term, which is why I don't agree with their views. I'd like to see more genuine progress myself, but I don't have to call myself a progressive though, the term conservative is more than adequate. Agreed on the racism part, socialism is not worthy of my respect, and just because I want the wall built doesn't mean I fear immigrants. I take issue with those who seek to break our laws, which illegal immigrants do, I've no qualms with those who come to our country with good intentions. Lastly, we have no shortage of "ists" "isms" and "ives" in this world, and sometimes I wonder if we aren't furthering the divide when we use such descriptive words?

SpikeTalon replies on Jan 2, 2019:
I've long maintained that there is not much difference between a classic liberal and a secular conservative, save maybe how they go about accomplishing things in life. Both the political left and right have long been overrun with radical factions, namely religious zealots and politically correct progressives. It is for this reason that I often classify progressives as a different category altogether, and for the most part I don't take issue with those who identify as a classic liberal. The Constitution affirmed the rights that of which we already have and should not be tampered with just to accomodate the politically correct crowd. No truly free person should never be forced to accept diversity either. I'm already well aware that no system is perfect, and tyranny is occuring on both sides. I also don't seek one-hundred percent perfection either, but there certainly is more that could be done though. Individualism has my loyalty, as it is not my duty to fulfill the lives of others, that is the individual's duty. Human beings as just about every other species that dwells on this crazy rock we call Earth are wired from birth to pursue self preservation, but of course humans in their "civic" state of mind choose to believe otherwise (at least some humans do anyway, not all though). Whether one realizes or chooses to acknowledge such, collectivism removes individuality given enough time, and there is a very specific reason why I had long abandoned the religious collectivism, and of course also the progressive collectivism as well.

Like many Americans at the time, while I didn't vote for him I was still hopeful Obama would bring about positive change... he didn't. During his years in office I only parted ways with my money over something that was unconstitutional, that however has gotten better for me since we have a Republican President. So yeah, that "change" ended up being a rotten trick on alot of Americans.

SpikeTalon replies on Dec 20, 2018:
@Condor5 That was my point, not enough people in our country question things, and that would apply to both political sides there. Just because someone makes a statement (in this case the popular slogan police use), does not automatically make it a true or genuine statement. The slogan "to serve and protect" is most likely strictly to gain support from the public and give the illusion that the police jobs are necessary for society to function properly and or safely. I find the word "serve" to be at least somewhat proper for the police (some of them anyway)... they serve all right, serve punishment to those who break the laws and in some cases ruin the lives of citizens who are wrongly accused of a criminal offense. How about the word "protect"? They protect all right... protect their own interests/job even if it means ruining the lives of others who may be innocent (think of all the recent police involved shootings in which unarmed citizens were executed). You follow me there Mr Condor? It depends on the context, the meanings of words may vary from individual to individual, but as I mentioned before based on my observations through the years I've noticed most people do not question these things enough and take what others say at face value. How about that officer who stood by when the Parkland shooting was being carried out? There is a word for a guy like that who obviously did not do his job like he was supposed to, society rightfully calls someone like that a coward. It concerns me when I see fellow citizens become too reliant on the police, as all human beings are prone to error and could fail in their job duties, and afterall there are people getting fired from their jobs every day across the country. Hope that answered your question, the meanings of words may differ from person to person, and I explained what I think that popular police slogan actually means.

@Cutiebeauty I took a look at the current members in that group, and at least one individual has me blocked and I've blocked a few. For a group geared towards debating, maybe there should be a rule stating anyone who wants to actively participate in group discussions cannot have any fellow group members blocked, that way more mods would not have to be assigned. For example, if and when someone joins a group I host who I had blocked, I unblock them while they are in my group(s). That seems to work out fine.

This is what I have so far- Okay, the main character is a guy named Ebenezer Cringe who has an employee by the name of Bob Ratchet, who has a son named TinyTiger who wants to go to an ivy league college, but Mr Ratchet doesn't have enough money saved up so he is looking to get a promotion at work. Convincing Mr Cringe on that promotion is no easy task though. That's what I have so far, anyone else with any ideas feel free to add to the story. Sounds like a promising drama...
