April 1st 2018. From Feb 2019 to Feb of this year I had taken a break from this site, the arguing between some members that occurs on here from time to time got to be too much after awhile. Came back as I had missed chatting with some people who I consider friends.

COVID-19 has jumped species at least twice: first to humans from bats, now from humans to big cats, ...

Good post. Sort of reminds me of the kindness I experienced while hospitalized from Aug 26 to Sep 4 2019 due to diabetic ketoacidosis, which came close to killing me. The hospital I live close to is an excellent one with caring staff. Due to experiencing a few low blood sugars while hospitalized, they had to give me some snacks, some of which you mentioned above. You're part Italian huh? My mother's side of the family is all Italian. Things will gradually get better, might take some time. Lastly, you don't fool us Pralina, we know you're a good person, even if you don't want to admit such. I tip my hat to you, the world could always use more compassionate individuals like you.

You should have made a visit to the local police station and let them know about that episode with your ex's friend, bet the police would have set him straight. You can't take back the past and any possible scars you may have endured, but you can go forward and learn from the past so that it is not repeated ever again. Our politics are truly screwed up, and both major political parties are corrupt. When it comes to voting, you must do what you think is the right thing to do no matter what anyone else tells you. It's been said that if you vote for a third party you are giving your vote away to one or the other of the two-party monopoly, but I don't think that's true though. If you didn't vote for either Dem or Repub then neither of them actually get your vote, period. I wish more citizens decided to vote for a third party, until that happens I fear nothing much is going to change where politics are concerned. Where sexual assault is concerned, you are right, that can happen to either of the sexes. Technically, many years ago I was sexually assaulted, and try not to think about it much.

Yes Bitcoin, and at one point I also had investments in Ethereum and BitcoinCash until I sold them off. Been with Coinbase now for over four years. More interested in Btc now than ever as a Btc ATM recently was installed at a business I frequent about three or so miles from where I live, so now I don't need a bank in order to withdraw my funds from Coinbase.

That's nothing. A few years back a local Amazon warehouse came under fire for exposing their workers to horrendous working conditions in the summer heat. Amazon literally had ambulances on standby waiting for people to succumb to heat exhaustion, as supposedly there was no AC in the warehouse. Last I heard there was a lawsuit against them, not surprisingly. Never have and never will purchase anything from Amazon, scuzbag organization along with its founder bozo Bezos.

I've long given up on debating with those who identify as pro life, it's a waste of my time doing so, folks like that cannot be reasoned with. They use the Bible as an excuse to label such murder, but they fail to realize the Bible contains no shortage of stories depicting violence and murder. While from a personal point of view can't say I care for abortion either, but I cannot ever justify forcing a woman to have a baby that of which she may not be able to afford, and no woman should be forced to have a baby that came from either incest or rape. My advice would be to ignore such people who make absurd comparisons, and stick to doing what you know is the right thing to do, and sounds like you believe in doing just that.

If Trump doesn't push for opening things up soon, come November the Democrats could argue that he didn't do enough to help the economy, so I'd say that works both ways. Nevermind the fact that alot of people who were laid off during the pandemic willingly want to return to work in order to provide for their families, as they realize a government issued check or two won't cut it. People are getting sick and dying regardless of adhering to the quarantine guidelines. Less than two weeks ago my one uncle who lives in NJ informed me that his mother in law (who is a registered Democrat and all in favor of the lockdown restrictions) came down with the virus, regardless of her staying home most of the time and practicing social distancing. He suspects she got the virus from someone who delivered her groceries, hard to tell though. Fear can be a powerful motivator, but a rather poor one all the same.
