The Second Amendment isn't about hunting, and the hunters often don't pay much attention to the Second Amendment until after someone passes a law that affects them. I've worked in several gun stores and met a whole heap of hunters who aren't defendants of the Second Amendment. All they care about is hunting, not about gun rights. So I'm only a little impressed with hunters.
Expect another surge of the virus several churches decided to hold mass and defy satan lol.

I don't know what state that's from, but there are a lot of states where gun control during Covid-19 is NOT even talked about, let alone enforced. People are buying guns like crazy.
Pour me another one...
Spudgun comments on Apr 11, 2020:
I has to laugh at that one. My cat would do that. He will knock ANYTHING off whatever it's on so it lands on the floor. Once he's knocked it off, he doesn't care about it any more. Just likes to knock things down.

Let's talk about the actual impossibility of effective gun controls.

As a resident of Idaho, this state has done a lot of things in the last few years that make a lot common sense. The liberals don't like it, but there isn't much they can do about it. This particular law I think is aimed more at keeping sporting competitions on an equal basis than anything else. However, I can't completely rule out some religious overtones. The one negative thing about Idaho is that there are more Jesus freaks up here than just about anywhere else, and that includes in the Legislature.

Any opinions of owners of the S&W M&P 15-22 Sport?
Spudgun comments on Apr 7, 2020:
There are both positives and negatives to this. The S&W 15-22's have a reputation of not being terribly accurate. I shot a friend's once, and was not terribly impressed with it. They also don't use the same magazines a lot of the .22 conversion kits do. So mags are a little hard to come by. Positives; they are fairly similar to an AR-15, so they actually are fairly good for training, and they have a 1 in 16 rifling twist, which is correct for .22 LR. Genuine AR-15's with a conversion kit are fantastic for training, and there are lots of conversion magazines available. However, the rifling twist in an AR-15 is either 1 in 12, 1 in 9, or 1 in 7, none of which work all that well for .22 LR. So both of them have advantages and disadvantages. I kind of lean toward the AR-15 with a conversion kit, because for training, you don't need maximum accuracy.

Actually, that cats aren't trainable is completely untrue. I volunteer at a place called Simply Cats, and in the last year, have trained numerous cat with the Jackson Galaxy Cat Pawsitive Pro program. We teach them to sit, high five, high ten, sit pretty, spin, weave through cones, and ring a bell on command. We usually begin with very simple things, like eye contact or nose bump. But cats are definitely trainable.

This is exactly why I don't watch the news. I haven't really watched or listened to a news program since I got back from Viet Nam. Even back then, the news people lied about damn near everything, and what they didn't lie about, they got wrong anyway. I think Viet Nam was when the news people started lying about what was going on, and they obviously haven't stopped since then.
It's been decades. But the memories are still there, as are the reactions. 😆

Every cat I've ever had has at one point or other, managed to sneak into somewhere they weren't supposed to be and has had to be extricated, sometimes a major problem. When they want to, they're VERY fast and really good at getting into places without being seen. So ease up on your husband. My current cat isn't supposed to go into the computer room, and even though I always watch and keep the door closed, he still manages to sneak in somehow. Then I go nuts trying to find him. I'm glad you managed to get your cat out of the ductwork, though. And everybody will heal up from the experience before too long.

A lot of the old sailing ships carried cats aboard to help control the rats that were ever present on ships. Considering the conditions on those ships, it's not wonder that when they got to port, some of the cats decided to explore and decided that life on land was much better than being at sea. There are probably cats in other countries who got there the same way.
We've no feral cats in our neighborhood, that I know of.
Spudgun comments on Mar 22, 2020:
About 12 years ago (at least, maybe more), there was a cat hanging around my house that I thought was feral. Who, after several months, very slowly started being a little more brave and eventually let me pet him. Not too long after that, we had a really cold winter (Down to zero degrees) and we were afraid that he would freeze if he kept on living outside. We managed to trap him and set up a bed in the garage. He thought that was a great idea, and would sleep in the bed at night, then go back out during the day. After a while, he decided to see what was in the house, where we had 4 other cats. That was pretty much the end of his being feral. He stayed with us until he died a couple of years ago. The strange thing about him was that he absolutely loved Cheezits cheese crackers. He also loved to be brushed, and would drool when we brushed him.
On your mark, get set...GO!!!!

I know a lot of people who, when anything unpleasant happens, will immediately start praying. Which in my opinion is an utter waste of time. If they didn't pray, the outcome would be exactly the same. But they get all self righteous and will say something like "See, prayer works", when praying has had absolutely nothing to do with the outcome of the situation. But you can't reason with these people. They're so bloody convinced that they're right that they always have an excuse or a reason that God didn't answer their prayer when things don't come out how they wanted.
