Cheney, Rumsfeld, and other neocons sent a White Paper to President Clinton explaining the need to invade and control a Middle Eastern country, one with oil, to have more control in that part of the world. I never bought into 9/11 being a legitimate reason for invading Iraq. We got Bin Ladin with a small force. We never needed a mass invasion anywhere over there. I got B+ in her class, which for me was a really good grade. My favorite teacher in college was an English Lit teacher. I wish l had had even one good history teacher. Those should have been really fun classes and they were horribly boring. I love history, but did not really get into until after l got out of school. Like your grandson, if I did not find a class interesting, sometimes due to the teacher more than the subject, my brain would just not engage. I never had a history class I enjoyed. If it had been about cause and effect I would have been engaged, but it was always about names, dates, and locations. Boring!. I failed geometry by a point my senior year. The teacher passed me anyway. He told me he knew I wasn't stupid, but he knew I just had no interest in the subject. He could have forced my into summer school, but didn't. @Gwendolyn2018 I couldn't figure out why I would do good in some classes and had to fake my way through others. I knew I wasn't stupid. I am also ambidextrous which I found causes me to go back and forth from my left to my right brain entirely on it's own. According to a study I read ambidextrous people tend to struggle at math, which I did when the math went beyond basic math. Later I figured out I have some sort of ADD and I suppose the Ambi thing contributed to the ADD. School was not the place for me to learn. I have a natural curiosity for many things, but I have to find out about things on my own, my way. My father would be appalled at what is going on now. He was very knowledgeable and heavily involved in politics. sorry I got long winded. :)
