How any woman can continue to embrace Christianity is beyond me.
VictoriaNotes comments on Jun 12, 2019:
It isn't/wasn't just the religious who promote/promoted this. For example, Aristotle believed women were inferior to men. In his work Politics (1254b13–14), Aristotle states *"as regards the sexes, the male is by nature superior and the female inferior, the male ruler and the female subject*, and ...

@VictoriaNotes You really don't make a lot of sense. You complain about shit that is not real. You sound like someone living in 1955. It has changed, maybe not as fast as you would like, but that really doesn't matter. Like I sad, quit putting it all on men and get your own house together. White women voted Republican in Obama"s second election and for Trump in sixteen. I agree we need more changes, but social changes are always slow to come. It wasn't until the 1970's when there was any real movement in a real positive direction away from a male dominated society. Big changes happen when a generation or a generation and a half pass. We are about generation away from real gun control and real equality for all. That is my hope anyway.

@VictoriaNotes I'm sorry but you need to quit reading and go out and live. You live in a world I haven't seen in a long long time. We don't have a female President because of the electoral college, not because we didn't want one. She won by three million votes. It was educated white women who voted for Trump. Like I have said in the past, you need to get your own gender on board, and quit putting all the blame on us. Indoctrination in the church is something we all have had to overcome, especially if you are of boomer age. You are either smart enough and strong enough to figure it out or you are not. If you are not, there is nothing anyone can do for you. Like I said, I don't know all of these downtrodden, weak willed women you speak of, and it definitely is not the same everywhere. You live in a state that is pretty much last in everything including education. Don't tell me it is everywhere, because that just ain't true. People can make excuses or they can lead their life the way they want to.

@VictoriaNotes Like I said, I don't know these women. I know they exist, especially in the deep South and Southeast, but I have lived and been to too many places this doesn't apply, because these women either woke up and said I am not going to do this anymore, or weren't raised that way. It really is not that hard to overcome. It takes some intelligence and common sense, just like the people on this sight when it comes to dealing with religion. Men are also indoctrinated in these same areas, but you seem to ignore that. We just had 19 black female judges elected in Houston alone. How many women just got elected to the House? You are or your state is stuck in the 50's. It is very different in most places. Your blanket statement about women is just not accurate.

@VictoriaNotes Everybody is indoctrinated from childhood until you are on your own. Whether it's religion, the boy scouts, the girl scouts, the military, school, and of course your own parents. Somewhere along the road you say "fuck it! I am going to live my life the way I want, believing what I want to believe." Most people won't because they are sheep. Nothing you do will change these people. You act like most women are these week subservient women. I don't know these women. Maybe the women in Mississippi fit this description, but the women certainly don't in the places I have lived. Maybe it is the people I associate with. You don't seem to have much respect for men or women. You give both genders short shrift.

@Kojaksmom It is fair because that is where it comes from. We have problems with STDs because we do treat sex like it is dirty. We don't teach our children about sex, and when we do it is usually bullshit. We teach them how to wipe their ass, wash their ass, brush their teeth, and take care of their bodies, and teach nothing about sex, which is just another biological function. I have never, ever lied to anyone to get in their pants. The dishonesty part of your argument is right on. That is never right whether it is about sex or anything else.

Sticks48 replies on Jun 8, 2019:
@KKGator You are showing a complete lack of knowledge of men and male sexuallity, something very common on this site among the older women. Just because you don't get it doesn't make it wrong. Many of the older men and women on this site have not been single since their twenties and have very little knowledge or experience when it comes to male and female sexuaity. It is easy to spot the folks on here who are still influenced by social mores influenced by the church in this country.

@Rob1948 Yes they can, but not good ones as far as l am concerned. At least in Bosnia we didn't have to put boots on the ground. Grenada was just Reagan trying to prove how tuff he was after all of those Marines were killed in Lebanon and he did nothing. Kuwait was just an excuse to try our new smart bombs and other new weapons. Iraq even told our State Dept they were going after Kuwait for slant drilling into Iraqi oil fields. If we had a real Middle East policy not based on supporting Isreal on almost every issue we might garner more respect from the Arab nations. If it wasn't for the oil, we would not give a damn about the Middle East. We are just as self-serving as every other country.

@KKGator She's right. We don't really care. In my 71 years on this planet, traveling all over the country I have never had or overheard a conversation where men complained about being a sex object. When it does happen we rather enjoy it. Women who insist on believing men and women are not really that different are so off the mark. The women that understand and or except those differences generally get along with men rather well, and the same thing goes for the men who understand or except those differences. Those of both genders who don't,stay frustrated up until the day they die. :)

@graceylou She does look like she has attitude. When we got coyote/chow mix, he and Jack got along fine. It was funny when we would go out in the mountains with my brother, his wife and there two dogs' watching three of the dogs trying to take the lead on a hiking trail. No fighting, just a lot of jockeying for position. I really do love all animals, but dogs are something else.

@graceylou Jack got in a fight with a pit bull one time at a car wash. Jack rolled onto his back and let the pitbull get on top, and then Jack went to work. I finally went in and grabbed the pitbull and pulled them apart. Jack was white so what blood there was showed up on him. He trotted back to the car all happy and tail wagging. There wasn't a mark on him. He thought it was great fun. He had that cute corgi face on a bull terrier body. He was a tough little SOB. Of course having him neutered settled him down a bit.

@graceylou I had a corgi/bull terrier mix. He just liked to fuck and fight. He was about the size Belle. The bigger the dog, the more Jack wanted to kick their ass. With small dogs he would sometimes just kick dirt in their face. We caught him trying to mount a cat and caught him humping a friend of ours toddler. It was time to get him neutered. He was great with people unless he felt someone was a threat to my then wife. I still miss him.
