We will see.

@t1nick History and common sense. It really isn't as complicated as folks like to make it. One day this lousy little backwater planet won't even exist anymore. That is how much all of this matters to the Universe. You and I both agree slavery is immoral. For centuries it was acceptable all over the planet. This was not considered immoral for all that time and humanity survived. We probably have very similar ideas of right and wrong, but that doesn't mean other folks in other societies would agree. They would find our ideas of morality completely contrary to their own, yet their societies survive.

@MsDemeanour Irony, sarcasm, and facetiousness don't always read well in this format. It has nothing to do with being a Yank. :)
Who on here is looking to be in a balanced triad type relationship?

@MsDemeanour No, That is not always true. Using a lot of words doesn't mean someone is actually saying anything. I have never known a man with whom I have had a conversation about this subject who haven't wondered why women think we are supposed to know what they are thinking. There are generalisations which work for both genders. You used one yourself. :)
Do you have trouble taking that first step?

@TomMcGiverin Some of the women here have had to deal with scammers, so they are pretty wary, and that does create another obstacle to deal with.

@MsDemeanour The women interested in someone my age haven't had periods in quite awhile I would imagine. I am more concerned with trying to read the minds of two women on a day to day basis, since this is something women expect us to do. :)

Sticks48 replies on Apr 7, 2019:
@TomMcGiverin I do much better in person, and it is much easier to get a feel for any real interest on their part. Here, I can't tell if they are fucking with me or not. I have only had a real interest in two women in the year I have been here, and they both live over a thousand miles away. Not very conducive for getting to know someone.
I have to what?
Sticks48 comments on Apr 6, 2019:
Exactly, and your point?
Sticks48 replies on Apr 6, 2019:
@Aryn Being facetious. I need to stop doing that here. This is one step above smoke signals.

@Carin A lot of people tend to open up to me in person. I don't know why, but they do. I don't always find people to be very honest and forthright here. I can see some folks pretty clearly trying to convince us or someone in particular, maybe even themselves, who they are.

Sticks48 replies on Apr 6, 2019:
@Carin I don't at all. Personality is everything for chemistry, and chemistry is everything in a relationship, whether a friendship or romantic relationship. I find this form of communication very sterile. People talk about being played on here all of the time. Then they just get more defensive and suspicious. Then you have to penetrate that wall. It is more difficult to play folks in person. This is way more complicated than real life for me. .

@Hathacat It would be better if America took better care of its tracks. Since we don't take care of highways, damns, or bridges, no real surprise.

@LetzGetReal That's Basie. His drastic changes in dynamics has had a huge influence on the way I play. The Sinatra/ Basie Live At The Sands is one of my very favorite albums.

My stepfather had a big band and combo too. he was a really good trumpet player. Later he toured with Doc Severinsen's touring band. I love big band's and Sinatra is my favorite singer period. Willie Nelson has said Sinatra's phrasing had a huge influence on him.

@SeaGreenEyez Unlike news reporting in the past, something I grew up in, it is only about ratings and money. Get it first. If you are wrong so what. There are so many outlets and news twenty four hours a day, if you are wrong, no one will remember anyway. It is a sad situation and change is doubtful.
