If you look back in history there have been plenty of cultures where the men dressed in bright shiny outfits and wigs. Of course they were the wealthy not the common man. In this country everyone toned down. They were pretty much living in a wilderness. Maybe religion had some influence on more conservative fashion. But boy in the 20th Century you ladies came busting out to the delight of us mens. And all of that could just be bullshit! :)

What Jeni said, and what I have said before. God and religion play such a pervasive role in our daily lives in this country from laws to politics and more, how can you not talk about it? You get new folks on here all of the time who want to talk about it and some who need to talk about it. You don't have to get in on those discussions. I am sure there are other discussions you don't get in on because you have no interest in the subject as we all do.

That got ended back in my teens and there is no looking back on that one.

I don't believe they do. Women have a lot of aquaintances, and seem to be more social. There are friends and there are FRIENDS. There is a difference. The women I know either like to hang around men (I'm not talking about sex) or women, and a few are comfortable hanging out with either gender. The ones who prefer hanging out with men have one or two close female friends and one or two close male friends. Then there are those women who prefer hanging around with women and seem to like running around in groups of women making it appear they are all close, but generally they also have one or two really close friends in that group. Men seldom run around doing things in large groups. You will see groups of women going on trips together. Men generally don't do that. There are some men and women who feel comfortable with friendships with either gender. I fall into that category. Women share their personal lives with more folks than men do. That doesn't mean these folks are your close friends.That has been my experience and observations. That may not be yours.

I believe we should have a national health care system. I also know there is no quick way to get there unless all of the businesses all at once said in 5 or 10 years we are through being health care providers. This was a stupid, stupid plan to begin with. Medicare for all sounds good, but unless the prices for it come down, it is not cheap. By the time you add all of the parts (A,B,C,D,E ,F...) and supplemental insurance, it gets pricey. As long as insurance companies are involved it will be expensive. For profit health care is immoral period. We are the only modern society with a for profit health care system on the planet. Right now fixing Obama Care and working our way toward a national health care system seems to be the only way to get there and the only way most Americans except at this time. IMO
