If you pay attention to most conservative men and Christian men, and I don't mean the conservatives driven strictly by greed, they have very juvenile attitudes toward women and in what they think is humor. This is why it is important to find something you really like doing for a career choice. I gave up an advertising career to play music. I am sure I would have made more money in advertising, but I am sure my life would have been less interesting, less exciting, and less fun. It could be stressful, but stress is easier to deal with if you like what you are doing. Only you can figure out what your priorities are, and there may be some trial and error along the way.

I have known a LOT of doctors. There are a lot of doctors who are just assholes. They become doctors for status or money. That doesn't mean they won't be good at their jobs, but a lot of them are not. Like the general population, some will be racists, some will be misogynists, and maybe both. While most people think because someone is a doctor they must be smart, that is not necessarily true. My primary doctor at the VA is a female doctor from India and I really like and trust her. I would suggest to any woman to find a female doctor as your primary physician if possible.
