Can these massive bricks solve storage for renewable energy?
Surfpirate comments on Nov 8, 2018:
An interesting concept with the benefit of being simplistic which is usually best in the real world. Another concept which is gaining traction is Molten Salt Batteries for grid storage, also simplistic and affordable; anything we can do to improve efficiency and reduce environmental impact is a good thing.

So I have been thinking about traveling at the beginning of next year.
Surfpirate comments on Nov 6, 2018:
If by travel you mean spending at least several months visiting other cultures then I recommend you take a low and slow approach so you can immerse yourself in the culture and really get a sense of the history and the people wherever you decide to go. If on the other hand you want a whirlwind vacation of a week or two, ie. 14 countries in 10 days then you should try Western Europe as it is reasonably safe, affordable and has good night life and scenery/history. For something a little more exotic you might want to try a layover of a few days in Iceland as it has stunning scenery and an active nightlife, plus some of the most beautiful women in the world according to many surveys on the topic.

I had this dream when I was about 5, no older than 6 years.
Surfpirate comments on Nov 5, 2018:
Being able to be in your dream and then shift to an aerial view of the dream with your character still in it is an advanced form of dreaming, you seem to be a natural at it since you achieved this at a very young age and remembered it. I've been killed in my dreams as well but like you it wasn't painful, just a sharp ending like when you hit the rocks.

Surfpirate comments on Nov 5, 2018:
Sleep researchers have found that most people dream (enter REM sleep) every night, at least for a short while but most people do not remember their dreams on a regular basis, so you are one of the lucky. You say you have never had a nightmare but you have had falling dreams, dreams involving injury and perhaps even death? Most people would consider falling dreams and dreams involving injury and death to be nightmares but it depends upon the person. Do you have any other tips that might help people to remember their dreams? Most people in this group seem to either have disturbing dreams they want to understand better or they want to learn how to dream better and remember those dreams. Anything you can offer would be appreciated.

What's your "Atheist Public Persona"?
Surfpirate comments on Nov 4, 2018:
I am very open about my lack of delusional beliefs and I do my best to avoid associating with the devote types, the same way that I would avoid other forms of psychosis because it really is a form of insanity when you think about it rationally. I don't attack the delusional unless they attack me and even then I exercise restraint when I rebuff them, the way you stop a retarded kid from attacking you on a playground, reasonable force only because someone has to be the adult and it sure isn't going to be them. Beyond that I do my good deeds whenever the opportunity presents itself because I was and still am at heart, a fucking boy scout and live by the unofficial boy scout motto - whenever possible, try not to be a cunt. :)

What exactly do ppl mean when they say that they r spiritual but not religious.
Surfpirate comments on Oct 30, 2018:
So imagine you are out in nature, all alone and feeling very calm and at peace, you feel a connection to your place in the ecosystem, a cog in the wheel of the life force that exists on this planet and probably on billions of other planets in billions of other galaxies BUT you also simultaneously realize that the hateful concept of religion that pits humans against each other because some dumb fucks insist that they have an imaginary friend that not only is the only true imaginary friend but it gives them a free pass to do unspeakable and horrific things to their fellow humans and other life forms on this planet is a total crock of shit. (that's one huge run on sentence and I just gave myself a pat on the back for that string of words) :D So would that connectivity with the greater life force, ecosystem, whatever you want to call it be considered a spiritual feeling? Just because a bunch of knuckle dragging, delusional, fuckwits decided to co-opt the term spiritual does that make the feeling of being part of a greater whole, no matter how indifferent and uncaring that greater whole is to you personally, does that make the term spiritual less valid? Your call, no fucks given either way, just like that indifferent and uncaring greater whole that is the life force that we all imagine to exist in one form or another.
No calm here. What are your plans? I'm handing out candy and scaring kids! Squeee!

Christian morality is my guess, people believe that diabetes is a disease that is self inflicted by gluttony and sloth which are two of the seven deadly sins so it is god's will that these people be afflicted. Plenty of fishermen are going out of business or having to work other fisheries now because of depleting stocks, I wonder how much longer it can last before it collapses.
