Look up violent crime rates in the us and the UK. It is so hard to get a firearm there most police officers don't have one. They use knives. Taking away all firearms from all civilians is bs. Countries with single payer, or universal health have a problem that I hear about the most. People abuse the system, and go to the Dr. for every little reason. Here is how it goes a lot of times in the US. You know you should go to the Dr, but don't know if it will cost a lot. Hope whatever it is just goes away. Here is what happens too often. I'll use a parallel from when I worked as a mechanic. Let's say one day you hear your brakes making some noise. You know that all it needs is a $20 set of pads that you can put on yourself. But you don't have $20. You need your only vehicle to get to work. You drove it like that for quite a long time, and what once was a squeal, is now a hard core grind. You now notice that the pads got so bad that it wore through the metal backing of the pad, and the piston was metal to metal with the rotor. If you had the $20, you could have scuffed the pad. Both rotors are not able to be turned, and both calipers need to be replaced as well. You don't know how to bleed the system, so you take it to a mechanic. What could have costed $20, now ends up costing you near a grand. Same goes with medical. PM's prevent you from taking it in the tail pipe in the long run.

@MsAl I get your point there. Yes, there is an epidemic of police officers shooting unarmed minorities for no reason. This is a huge problem, and is usually "dealt with internally". If I was in his shoes, I'd be mad too. On a side note, I once had the former Sgt. of a neighboring county come to private property (my dads). A friend was driving on said property, and I was in the back looking for coons. He got stuck in the snow. Called another friend to pull us out. When he got their the SGT was waiting at the end of the drive (like 1/4 mile or so), and he talked to him. He said that there was "machine gun fire". I told my other friend to not let him in. He ignored. I'd like to know when a lever rifle is a "machine gun". He was out of his jurisdiction. Should have talked to the Sheriff about that.

I disagree with your conclusion. Most small farmers have small equipment. Mostly can pay them off fast, or own them. Just upkeep. A bigger farmer needs to upgrade equipment every 2-3 years (if not earlier). I made more dollars per acre when I only farmed a few 80's. Now, you have to go! The 4420 has been paid off since 1984! Just can't get 1,500 acres done with an old combine, and a four row head. We run a 9670 and a 12 row now.
