Still NOT smoking, still learning to enjoy the freshness of everything and saving money nicely, well when I don't buy things that I've always wanted/needed but couldn't afford that is, Did learn that a local Asian Restaurant did home deliveries of meals though, made quite a welcome change to the usual menu and cuisine around the house.

Here in the Far Western Region of New South Wales WE stood firm and together since day 1 of the C.19 Pandemic and kept our region Covid free UNTIL last Friday when some dumb, stupid, self-centred, should have known far, far better, arrogant Indigenous Health-worker at the Maari Maa Aboriginal Health Clinic here in Broken Hill DECIDED to attend a Funeral in Wilcannia on Saturday and return with Covid symptoms then attend work on Monday, go to a nearby Cafe/Dining Business and start spreading the infection around town. Nearly 2 years of hard graft and Community working together has now gone down the tubes thanks to this selfish bitch, everyone is now in full lockdown, parents of school age children are fearful because this variant DOES impact upon EVERYONE, ESPECIALLY children from approx. 10-12 years and younger and it HITS HARD, Fast and VERY NASTY as well.

@powder As do I as well btw. ALL Isolation Rules/Regulations NEED to take into account, imo, the NEEDS, etc, for Access to Medical Facilities as per requirements and necessities PLUS the fastest, closest and BEST available Treatments needed and the distances, etc, needed to be travelled whether in Emergencies or for Regular and necessary Treatments, etc. Since Australia was turned from a group of very separate States to a Federation of States in the early 20th Century I tend to think that there was little or no forethought, planning, etc, etc, involved whilst doing so and absolutely NO-ONE at that time could have even had the slightest inkling of a pandemic as we are experiencing today. Yes, under Federation the States are viewed as Separate Entities and most unfortunately imo, since that does NOTHING to actually UNITE the Populace as being Australian Peoples one and all. we need to RWALKISE that we ARE ONE People, living in ONE Country and we should act and behave as One Peoples not a mass of squabbling toddlers arguing over a few little toys in a playground. @powder The original, NOTE Original, outbreaks arose BEFORE Quarantine Rules were instigated, hence the outbreak was already well and TRULY underway or is that also a bit beyond your capacity for comprehension as well? Yes, there have been lapses in the Quarantine Rules, etc, BUT they are DUE not to the Governments but to THOSE whom were CNTRACTED to oversee the operations of the Quarantine Facilities, I>E> the PRIVATE Contractors and the Army in some cases, fyi. When there IS an Epidemic/Pandemic, since this C-19 is the FIRST ever PANDEMIC btw, NORMAL practice is to ISOLATE the infected/affected at the nearest available and securable FACILITIES as possible SINCE transporting them to more distant locales INCREASES the risks of spreading the infection further at an exponential rate. Surely, even one such as yourself can REALISE that? @powder Without the closing of International Borders and State Borders when there are breakouts in the larger populated areas, which btw, is how most Infective agents spread so quickly, i.e. the closer packed the population the faster the spread, that's MEDICAL Logic btw, OUR Infection rates and subsequent Death Tolls would have been much, much higher, or is that far too technical for you to comprehend perhaps? Out here in Broken Hill, we are all very fortunate, so far, that we are ISOLATED by distance, to some extent, from the high population areas of the coasts around the nation. @indirect76 Please allow me to add my 2 cents worth here. Imo, the answer is a DEFINITE YES, because for the Human Race to advance both socially and scientifically to where it should have already arrived by now Religions, religious Preaching/teaching, Indoctrination/s, etc, etc, need to be CURTAILED either completely or to the level that their influences are almost non-existent. For example, Stem cell research has shown that it has the great possibilities for saving lives from cancers, etc, etc, as well as the possibilities of actually growing new organs, such as hearts, etc, that are specific to the patient/s, BUT religions scream and cry crocodile tears every time when Stem cell Research gets a mention BECAUSE, in their tiny little, deluded minds the Scientists are either, A) Trying to play or be God, B) the Stem cells are taken from either aborted fetuses or those who were miscarried ( which btw, most are not, they usually are harvested from the Placentas, etc, after the baby has been born, though some stem cells are derived from test-tube fertilisations and ALWAYS done with the EXPRESSED permission of the donors, C) " It goes against Gods great and mystical plan" is their usual fall-back cry. I assume and suppose that NONE of these Cry-baby Faithfools have EVER sat at the bed-side of their child while it is dying slowly, painfully and terribly from cancer, because IF they had they would soon change their tune imo.

@GipsyOfNewSpain Funny enough, yes I have but that applies to the attire as worn by customers/patrons entering or availing themselves of the service/s offered in a place. As to a potential customer enquiring as to the baking of a specific item from a Bakery then , logically, as it IS a Bakery then its role is to Provide and sell what the customer requests NOT to push their agenda re-religious beliefs, etc. We have in our town, a Sufi Bakery run by members of the Sufi belief system of Islam, yes they make and sell what is normally consumed in the Sufi culture, they also make and sell other products that do NOT come from the Sufi culture, Sourdough Bread, Danish, French Breadsticks, etc, etc, for example, BUT they DO NOT press upon their customers their beliefs, etc, quite the opposite in fact. Perhaps that may well be because Australians, for the most part, are far more open-minded than others, Americans for example.

@JackPedigo I too agree with you on your comment. I have personally copped the 'racist shit' from just as many with dark/darker coloured skins as I have from either Europeans, Asians, etc, etc, and FOR ABSOLUTELY NO reason what-so-ever. The ideology of 'Racism,' imo, stems from a few MAIN sources and those being as follows, 1)the Main and Prime source of them all being the Christian Bible and its blatant, inherent racist ideologies, 2) the continual, endless spreading of the Jingoist beliefs that EVERYNE whose skin is not WHITE is a sub-species of Human and NOT deserving of either respect or consideration, 3) the 'Political mileage' to be gained by these so-called ' Bleeding Liberals' who rake in the BIG dollars whilst sitting back in relative safety as they stir the pot and keep their pristine noses clean, 4) The Politicians who 'ride the backs of the 'Race Equality waves' and gain popularity to suit THEIR agendas and then do Sweet F*#* All about the problem ONCE they've reach their objective/s in their careers, and lastly but by no means least of all, 5) the Media Barons who make their fortunes from broadcasting Racist leaning articles, etc, etc, they are just a GUILT as anyone else, perhaps even more so BECAUSE, just maybe, in their own ways THEY are Promoting it, condoning it and fostering it so it may continue to boost their bottom line, finances-wise. When one truly sits back and thinks deeply about, this Racism Rioting, etc, etc, is very similar to how the Media, etc, treat Serial Killings, Arsons, Mass Shootings, Vandalism, etc, etc. In its own way IS IT not merely PROMOTING those horrible things and in doing so, saying to those who are less than 'socially-minded and moral amongst us all that such abhorrent behaviours are okay because "you WILL get your 5 or 10 minutes of Fame and you will no longer be just another person very few will know or remember." As a qualified and respected Psychologist I see how this kind of encouragement, twisted as it REALLY is, works its wonders on the minds of some, it is similar to, for example, trying to discourage a dog from barking at nothing by shouting at it. Over time, that action has the entirely OPPOSITE effect, instead of teaching the dog NOT to bark continuously, IT encourages the dog to bark BECAUSE the dg gets YOUR attention and thereby see that as it being rewarded for the barking. We humans might like to THINK we are more intelligent than dogs, etc, BUT our minds still work on the Reward for Good, Punishment for Wrong basis that is inherent in most other animals.

Triphid replies on Jun 17, 2021:
@David1955 Yes and No to the establishment and time thereof for the Roman Empire. Some Roman Historians place the establishment of the Empire as being an Empire at the time when, by decree (???) of the Roman Senate Gaius Octavian Caesar went from Princeps Roma to Emperor of Rome and thus added 'Augustus' to his title/name. Hence the time disparity of approx. 5 years between being Princeps Roma and Emperor of Rome. IF, and this is a MASSIVE almost Cosmic sized if btw, there was 'Hebrew Messiah name Yesu or Yesuha (Jesus) then his birth MAY have occurred during the Spring of the year of the years of either 2 or 1 B.C.E. BUT NOT in Nazareth since Nazareth was known, even then as nothing more than an abandoned Hebrew Burial Ground, NOT a township/village or settlement of any kind since it had NO permanent source of fresh water available to and the only actual water source nearest to it was a 'tainted source' which was fed, seasonally from a similarly seasonal highly saline spring. Governor Pilate, actual name being Gaius Pilatus Pontifex Secundus, was a Secondary Augur at the Temple of Jupiter Capitolinus in Rome until given the Governorship of Illyria, NOT Judaeh. He was exiled to Cyprus by Caligula, in the same years as Caligula rose to become Emperor after the unexplained SUDDEN death of Tiberius, for being accused of 'skimming from the Taxes' raised whilst he was Governor of Illyria. There were 2 actual Herods in history, Herod the Great and his son, Herod Antipas, both were about as sane as a dog with rabies. Some historians posit that Herod Antipas not only had his brothers murdered, married his elder brother's widow BUT also had his father murdered by poisoning as well, but hey, what can one expect after all. But Herod Antipas WAS only the Titular Ruler/Puppet King/Tetrarch of Galilee UNDER the Roman Rule anyway, he was nothing else historically wise. Caiphus does appear in records kept by Rome from that period but only as mere foot notes and little more. He was High Priest Elect of the Temple but NEVER recorded as having held a Trail for Treason, and Sedition, etc, etc, against a Hebrew person. He ALWAYS sent condemned prisoners to the Roman Governor for FINAL Judgement and possible Execution since Hebrew Law stated that ONLY Death by Stoning was permissible and ONLY for Crimes of Heresy and Blasphemy, NOT Treason or Sedition. Your are correct though, the Faithfools will NEVER accept Historical Facts over their own mythical belief systems, that, imo, is, sadly, the nature of the beast.

@David1955 Actually @ David1955, by the time of the Jesus myth taking hold, the Roman Conquered world was already a fully formed Empire under the Rule of an Emperor, that Emperor being Tiberius, successor to the FIRST Roman Emperor, one Gaius Julius Octavian Caesar, adopted son and nephew of Gaius Julius Caesar. After ruling for 5 years as Princeps Roma ( First Person of Rome) Octavian was made Emperor by Senate Decree and thus changed his name to Gaius Julius Octavian Caesar Augustus, Emperor of Rome.

Triphid replies on Jun 15, 2021:
@powder Golden Staph, did NOT mutate it developed a resistance to most Antibiotics used in every day medical treatments, as have numerous other bacterial infective agents, etc, etc. This 'resistance was primarily caused by the OVER-usage of Antibiotics by Doctors issuing prescriptions for them like Dealers at a Casino dealing cards from the deck. Once, antibiotics were seen as the Panacea, the Magic Bullet, the Cure All of the world of medicine BUT over usage and over prescribing when unnecessary led to the bacteria, etc, developing the resistances they now have, THEY did NOT merely mutate as do viruses when given the chance, they just adapt and develop a resistance instead. Hence, even stronger, newer, more potent antibiotics have had to be developed to TRY to combat the grave errors made that brought this resistance into being. @powder, MAY I, please, SUGGEST that you DO TRY as hard as you are able to RESEARCH first, then Engage Brain, etc, BEFORE setting fingers to keyboard/keypad in future.

This seems like a joke that fails to let us know it...
Triphid replies on Jun 12, 2021:
The 'Junk Mail' to which I'm referring here is NOT delivered by employees of Australia Post Postal Services, it IS delivered by hand and by those wishing to earn extra bucks, TAX free, from Advertising Companies and the like. On average, every 7 days a household WILL receive approx. 8-10 rolled up advertising pamphlets, 6-8 advertising leaflets, 5-9 advertising booklets displaying the 'Weekly Specials' at various Supermarket Chains, 3 -4 Religious Circulars and few dozen or so other bits of advertising garbage, ALL hand Delivered whether you want it or NOT, the ONLY thing ONE can do is to display plainly and clearly your WISH and desire NOT to have your Mail-box and gardens polluted with THEIR rubbish.
Well that's yet another relationship down the drain, so to speak.

@OldMetalHead Over here in Australia we'd call her a "3 Bagger," 2 bags over her head and 1 over your own JUST in case hers gets blown of by a bit of breeze.
LOL, that really worked.
