@JackPedigo Leaded fuel is ONLY used in piston driven aircraft manufactured prior to 1985 and these days, instead of adding lead to the fuel they to stop the 'knock' in the motor that occurs when using un-leaded fuel in older engines they add a new and non-leaded based product that is quite safe, contains no lead and increases the octane rating. Australia started fazing out leaded fuels back in the mid 80's btw, and it is illegal to add lead or use leaded in fuels in Australia.

A rough estimate of her total length these days is almost 6 feet long from nose to tail tip, one of her many favourite 'sports' is to stretch out across the path leading to my front door and sun bathe, then when some unsuspecting person/s enter through the gate, she will rise up to her full height and stare at them. Fortunately, most of my regular visitors and friends know her and simply walk around her, but I've seen many a pesky bible-bashing door knocker take one look and head for the hills at great speed, though I sincerely doubt that she'd do them any harm at all, she does make a great deterrent when she's sun baking.

@RoyMillar Yeah, 'roos seem to have a nighttime 'game' of what we call out here " Headlights Chicken," i.e. they see two car headlights coming towards them and see if they can fit in between the two lights," or they'll suddenly decide to just hop out into the middle of the road and stand there like some demented Traffic Cop. Sheep are even worse, but what else can one expect from sheep, there can be 10 or more sheep happily grazing on one side of the road and 2 or 3 on the opposite side, they hear a vehicle coming closer and they'll suddenly decide to swap sides usually with a few that will stand in the middle and seem to have a 'debate' about whether or not to left or right. Emus, on the other hand, see the shiny vehicle, or headlights at night, and run, on mass, straight at it, you hit them and the next thing is cloud of feathers, blood, guts, meat and Emu shit exploding everywhere around you, IF you've survived the initial impact that is.

Triphid replies on Dec 15, 2019:
@RoyMillar Yeah I'd reckon they'd do a fair bit of damage. Our Aussie 'Bush Chooks' ( slang for Emus btw) can take a pretty hefty toll on cars and trucks as well when you hit them, not quite as much damage as a big muscly Red Kangaroo does but they still disable most vehicles if front on, the radiators usually cop the brunt and burst open before they get pushed back on the cooling fan. A 'roo, on the other hand, doesn't stop with radiator and cooling fans, it can crush the entire front panels of the vehicle and many a family car has actually had the engine torn from its mounts and driven back into the firewall, the body of the 'roo will keep on going, shatter the windscreen, crush the leading edge of the cabin roof before bouncing along the rest of the roof and flying off the rear of the vehicle. Out here most road-wise heavy Truckies will do their darnedest to avoid hitting a Bush Chook or a 'roo at all costs.

I tend to think that when Archaeologists stop looking at all the artworks, etc, made by our ancient ancestors and merely labeling them as having 'some kind of spiritual/religious meaning' then we may just get a better understanding of what our ancient ancestors were thinking about when they did these great works of art.

Oh come off it @Grahame, homosexual behavior has been around since well before there was recorded history and I sincerely doubt that even then anyone was literally forced to become Gay or Lesbian, etc. I know quite a few Gay/Lesbian couples even though I'm as straight as an arrow, I've never once seen them force they orientations onto anyone else, unlike the Christians. I've sat and drunk tea or coffee with Gay/Lesbian people and talked about all kinds of subjects BUT never has the subject of their sexual orientation/ideology arisen, BUT sit and talk with a God-Bothering Christian and the subject always turns to God, Jesus and every religious subject they can think of. Has ANYONE here on this site/group ever ONCE had a Gay/Lesbian couple knock on his or her front door wanting to hand them LGBTI literature or talk to them about how they SHOULD become Gay or Lesbian, etc? I WILL bet my last dollar that the answer will be a 100% emphatic NO. The LGBTI people of this world ONLY want the same rights and acceptances as everyone has and is usually given from birth, they do NOT want to rule the world and turn everyone into Gays, etc, so, PLEASE, try to stop believing all the total false, radical, fundamentalist, discriminatory hype and propaganda that organisations like Catholicism, etc, keep spewing out.

The Nazis used the ideology of the German Race being descended from the Divine Aryan Race to validate, justify and consolidate the German Peoples. Roman Emperor Constantine knew he faced crushing defeat and accepted the somewhat 'blackmail type' offer from the Messianics ( later to be know as Christians btw) that they would bolster his Legions in EXCHANGE for him vowing to legalise their belief system should he become Emperor of the WHOLE roman Empire, again religion used its influence to try to achieve its desired outcome.

Zeus then grew to adulthood, forced Kronos to 'vomit up' his other siblings, joined forces with other mythical beings (can't quite recall what they were at present), went to war against Kronos and the Titans, defeated Kronos and became the Supreme God of the Greeks ruling from Mount Olympus.

@TheMiddleWay Yes, and whether or not he is a member of some church or other his actions are reprehensible to say the least. But religions, Christianity in particular here, have been taking great pains for centuries to point out that "They are the sole and only sources of Moralities and Ethical Behaviours" yet they have systematically committed and covered up such blatantly immoral and unethical behaviours and actions whilst doing so. 2 prime example that come very readily to mind here are the Catholic Church and the Jehovah's Witnesses, both have been entrenched in Institutionalized Abuse Crimes against children especially and covering up the same for years and if not, in the case of Catholicism, centuries. As a friend and a Counselor I sat for well over 4 hours last evening listening to and reading the DOCUMENTED records of the absolutely horrific and gut-wrenching episodes of Abuse, Physical, Emotional and Sexual wrought upon a woman, now in her late 20's, by no less than 4 ( FOUR) members of the Council of Elders in the community of the Jehovah's Witnesses Church since she was 7 years of age. this abuse was mentioned by her or her mother to the Elders they immediately brought forward the " 2 Witnesses Ruling" as per Church Canonic Laws. Every single time And yes, as of 3.00 pm today this victim WILL be taking Legal Recourse against the Jehovah's Witnesses via the services of a well respected Law Firm here in town and WILL be going with her to offer her all the support she may require. Just as I have done for every so many others in the same position in the last few years and well before than also. Call these organizations Religions or whatever suits BUT they are NOTHING short of being CULTS in my opinion, since they fit the 'Cult" description and dictionary meanings to a "T." All Religions/churches or what-so-ever else they choose to call themselves fit into the criteria of, 1) Having as their 'head/leader' an Authoritarian, Worshipful personage/s to whom ALL allegiance and Obedience must be given and paid, 2) All must adhere strictly and without question to the doctrines and tenets as prescribed by that 'Authoritarian, Worshipful personages be he/she/they incarnate or not, i.e. living and tangible or Invisible but deemed to be Supreme and Divine but not corporeal in the true sense of the word 'corporeal.' etc, There are far more criteria than I have time or space to add here BUT logic tells anyone with an open and unbiased mind that ALL Religions fit these criteria 100%.

@Beowulfsfriend not quite SciFi since we ARE polluting the rivers and oceans at really high level and rate, pumping Carbon Dioxide, Carbon Monoxide, Sulfur Dioxide, etc, into the atmosphere art rates and levels almost as bad as the were during the Siberian Traps episode that occurred millions of years before the dinosaurs evolved. Sulfur Dioxide rises right to very edge of the atmospheric shell and combines there to form a Reflective style blanket that blots out and reflects the heat and light from the sun which then causes flora to die since it can not perform photosynthesis without sunlight, plus the Sulfur dioxide eventually forms into Acid Rain which also kills ALL plant life and sterilses the soil as well as making water toxic and killing marine life into the bargain. If you don't believe then I suggest you do a wee bit more research.

Oh FFS what is he after, extra cash in the Collection Plates so he can replace his million dollar jet with a new, more up to date model?

@VictoriaNotes Whilst doing research for my ThD I attended numerous different Churches and differing religions but never came across any one that could come remotely close to being 'enlightened,' liberal or progressive they all seem to spout the same tired, well worn out old rhetoric of bible based bullshit and biases.

Believing in the Goat-herders Guide to the Galaxy not only can make one dumber than a post, in my honest opinion, but also robs one of the ability to think rationally and logically as well.

@Grahame As I said before your opinions of me are 110% barking up the wrong tree and I never pretend to something or someone that I am not neither am I nor have I ever been a 'troll.'
I know people love their animals, but I wonder what would happen if you were required to sponsor a ...

I have often thought of it. I have friends who have no children but have dog that they overindulge. The money they spend on those animals is immense. It is a disgrace.

@girlwithsmiles Don't feel guilty about stating what is blatantly evident. Struth there are countless T.V. shows being aired these days about people and how they pamper their pets, or the seeming American ( and one English show as well btw) that promote and endorse Pet Psychologists/Counselors and the like. A Psychologist/Counselor for a dog, you've got to be kidding.

@VictoriaNotes Are there really such a thing as Liberal and Progressive Churches? Given the meaning of those adjectives I'd hazard to say that mixing them with religion could be a bit of a misnomer, but that is, however, my opinion.

@Grahame You are barking up the wrong there @Grahame, do yourself a favor and, in my opinion, try not to 'paint others as you may see yourself' it does neither you nor them any good at all. I am a qualified Counselor and have been so since 1998, I now practice on a Gratis basis i.e. completely FREE of Charge or Fee, have a list of 'clients' that varies anywhere from 30 to 50 from time to time and ALLOW myself only 2 mornings per fortnight as my 'days' off but am still available 24/7 anyway. As to your " not needing my anger in your life," well, in my opinion, I truly do NOT need nor desire your condescending attitude either nor your, in my opinion, arrogant disparagements as well, so I reckon we are 100% square on that point are we not?

I'm beginning to become even more certain that Happy Clappy Jesus Chappy Morriscum IS seeing himself more and more as either God or Jesus incarnate these days and so does the Cartoonist that I 'borrowed' this attached cartoon from just now.
Triphid replies on Dec 11, 2019:
@FrayedBear Bugger the hoe and the pick Mate, I've got 3 dozen very sharp, very nasty Hunting arrows plus my 52" Mongolian Recurve Hunting bow and enough materials on hand to make at least another 4-5 dozen arrows. Arrows are very silent, very deadly and can be fired from almost anywhere. I can hit and kill a running fox or feral cat at about 40 metres with almost every arrow fired. Though, and as an added after-thought I will mention that I am in no a person who advocates violence/harm to any person or animal EXCEPT those animals listed as Recognised Invasive Feral Pest Animals such as foxes, cats and the like. Hence it WILL take a very great deal of intense provocation before I even consider using my Hunting Bow on anything other than Feral Pests.

So, what's next now under Happy Clappy Jesus Chappy, is it to be religious Re-Orientation Camps (aka Nazi style Concentration Camps or Communist style Camps of a very similar nature) for all the Non-believers, Atheists, etc, in Australia? Judging by those "changes" it IS beginning to look like a ...
