Cellular biology. I know a bit from school, and i've read some papers, but I would love to have a much better understanding.
How important you are?
TristanNuvo comments on Aug 21, 2018:
I actually get that quite often from the people that run the homeless shelter where I volunteer at. But I say the same to the people that live there.
We can help ourselves think more critically by keeping the following points in mind.

Personal stories harm caused by religion.
TristanNuvo comments on Aug 21, 2018:
I never have since I wasn't brought up in a religious household, I've always been a non-believer. But over the years I've had some friends that were brought up religious, and I've heard some real horror stories from them. Especially when they told their friend, and family that they no longer believed. Some were disowned by their families, some lost their friends, shunned by their community etc. I couldn't imagine what that must have been like.
Have you ever thought yourself into a bad mood?

Does anybody else seem to have a strange talent for attracting weirdos like me?

TristanNuvo comments on Aug 20, 2018:
Although they are one of my all time favorite bands, Alice in Chains CD 'Jar of flies was a little let down. Don't get me wrong, it's a great album, but it only had 7 songs on it.
When did this become a thing?
TristanNuvo comments on Aug 20, 2018:

I have yet to see anything at Agnostic about sports. Anyone like Football?
TristanNuvo comments on Aug 20, 2018:
There is a group for football fans, but mostly they talk about soccer. I've been a huge football fan for as long as I can remember. I grew up in Pittsburgh, and got to watch the Steelers go from one of the worst team, to totally dominating the game. That kind of thing just stuck. For better or worse, I'll be a Steelers fan for life. But's not just the Steelers, I love a good football game no mater who is playing.
Have you ever? I might have I'm not really sure.
TristanNuvo comments on Aug 20, 2018:
I do halucinate from time to time. But as far as seeing a ghost. I can't say that I have. although, I think it would be fun if I did.
Someday I'd like to plot out a massive road trip to visit some of y'all.
TristanNuvo comments on Aug 19, 2018:
On another blog site that I was a member of for a long time I made some great friends (kind of like it's getting here), one day tho of them decided to do just that, travel and meet people we new from the site in real life. By the time they made it all the way down to here in Florida they were beat. So, i told them they were welcome to stay at my place for as long as they wanted. the first few days, we just had some wine, i cooked some good food and we ended up just talking all day long. Was a great time. Then after every one was feeling better from being on the road for so long, we went to the beach a few times, I took them to some great places to eat.I know most of the chefs in the area, so I gave them a ring and told them I was bringing some friends, and they hooked us up. So, in the long run it was really great to actually meet the people I've known digitally, to see them in real life. Best part. They were just like they were in person as they were on the site. That was cool. So I think what you're idea of traveling to do just that is a great idea.
If you are now an atheist, what other supernatural oddities, if any, did you used to believe in?
TristanNuvo comments on Aug 19, 2018:
I was fortunate enough to have not been brought up in a religious household, so I was never a believer in god. My parents never tried to tell us that santa was real, he was just part of the whole christmas spirit, what ever that means. I was also fortunate enough to go to a couple of progressive schools. A bunch of that was during the Carter administration, so we were taught the metric system and a few other things that they thought at the time that was where we were headed. The one thing that was different about the schools I went to was, we didn't just have to read a chapter in a book, memorize it, and then take a test on it. We would have a discussion on the matter, then we were given the opportunity to find out the information for our selves and then write a paper on our findings, and conclusions. Essentially we were taught critical thinking, and how to learn for our our selves. but they were always there if we needed help. I don't for the life of me understand why programs like that faded away, or never caught on to the main streem. Sorry, this was a long winded way of just saying, No I never believed in anything supernatural.
What would you do??
TristanNuvo comments on Aug 19, 2018:
That's the thing with Schizoaffective disorder, sometimes I do see things like that, or hear it. but It's not always creepy that. It used to scare the shit out of me for a moment. But i've learned some great coping tools with my therapist on how to deal with that. Now days even when it happens, and after I calm down, i'll actually laugh, thinking, damn, that was a good one.

Not all Men ?
TristanNuvo comments on Aug 18, 2018:
I think that there are both horrible men, and horrible women. But there are also some great men and women out there too. I know I'm not perfect and I've done some really stupid shit in my youth. But I've always tried to be as nice to people as i can. Sometimes it is hard though to keep my cool when confronted by a total asshole. No one is perfect, but those who try to do more good than bad are good in my book.

TristanNuvo comments on Aug 17, 2018:
I have a comment on this, but forgive me it's rather long. I'll start off with I played the cello in school, my favorite composer was Bach, I loved when we could play one or more of his pieces. But to be honest I was a metal head. I heard Black Sabbath when i was very young and that was it for me, I wanted to play that kind of music. Now even though I did have some classical training on the cello, I never played guitar. I begged my mom to get me an eletcic guitar, a lot. she finally gave in and got me one. it wasn't a great guitar, but it was playable. So I set off learning how to play my favorite Sabbath tunes. I was never taught how to play guitar, so I just played the albums over, an over intil I got the songs learned. Then at a show of sabbath, I saw Van Halen open for them, and I was blown away. I was determined to learn how to play like that, and just like before, I played the album many times till I learned them all. And one day while at a music store while i was trying out a new guitar playing VH and sabbath, one of the guys that worked there played some yngwie on an album, and I was blown away, this guy took what I knew playing the cello and put it to guitar. so once again, I learned every song I could. But after a while (and no disrespect to yngwie, but he is very one dementional. You can sum up all of his riffsin a simple run of arpegios, diminished, and minor progressions. then I heard Steve Vai. Steve was all over the place, some classical, some jazz, some blues, some metal. \I tried like hell to learn his stuff, but for the first time ever I had real troubles playing his stuff. There are many other guirtarists that amuse me to no end, like paul Gilbert, Joe satriani,Tossin abasi, and many others. So I eventually decided it was time to make my own style. here is one of many I did. the quality isn't great, I was just learning to figure out how to work out my digital software, and my sound system. this starts off slow, but i get into it after a while. https://youtu.be/3vR3kOG7N7w
Can I just say that you all ROCK in this group. Thank you so much. My gratitude is beyond measure.

If a vegan restaurant opened in your area, would you go to it?
TristanNuvo comments on Aug 17, 2018:
i have no problem at all with people not wanting to eat meat. But what I don't like is (and I've seen this a lot). vegans getting WAY to high and mighty about trying to shame people that eat meat. I've seen countless vids of a bunch of vegans storming into a resturaunt holding up signs and yelling something to the tune of 'meat is murder' . or that will stand out side of it and plaster hate on the windows. I did see one vid, and I'll post it where a chef found a way to get back at them, and never said a word. The ironic thing is that the woman vegan says that the owner has gone out of his way to mock us. What exactly do you think she is doing. The same thing. https://youtu.be/hE94b05e82Q

What percentage of your life do you feel truly alive?
TristanNuvo comments on Aug 17, 2018:
I suffer from Schizoaffective disorder. A good part of that is major depression, so I know what you mean. I have two things that I do in life that make me feel not only alive, but good about myself. One is my writing and recording music. I feel creative, and it takes my mind off of what ever down feelings I may have at the time. The other is I volunteer at a homeless shelter most of the week. That has many things that help me feel alive and good about myself. I love helping others, I've needed help before so I know what kindness can do for a person. Plus it's a form of therapy, I have a tremendous fear of being around people. My work there helps me over come that a lot.

Great show. 3: 1978, Van Halen, opening up for Black Sabbath. the two bands that made me want to play guitar. And I learned to play every song of both of them too.I have to add a fourth to this one, becaise it was too bad ass not to include it. 4: 1995, Type O Negative opening up for Pantera. There was so much pot being smoked at that show, every one got a contact high. Great show. I could name quite a few others, but I think I went long enough already. lol.
Following AmiSue's lead, what is a song that makes you cry?
TristanNuvo comments on Aug 16, 2018:
Sad songs don't make my tear up. what does however is when I hears something so powerful and beautiful. this is one I've always loved,Giovanni Battista Pergolesi's Stabat Mater (Quando corpus morietur). it's beautiful, yet has a haunting sorrow to it as well. And he wrote this at 25 yo. he died the next year of Tuberculosis. Here is one of my favorites for that. https://youtu.be/ZdmgC1U0cQk

TristanNuvo comments on Aug 16, 2018:
Thie one is very easy, but tastes amazing. Get a pork roast, around 3 to 4 pounds depending on how many will be eating. Add 1 can of cream of mushroom soup. 1 packet of lipton french onion soup mix. (the dry stuff). Don't add any water, the juices from the pork will do all that work itself. If you don't like pork, a beef roast works just as well. I usually put it together in the morning on low, and by dinner time it will be the most tender roast you've ever tasted. I used to make that in a resturaunt for specials quite often. It always sold out..

Although, I'm no genealogist by far, so I'm sure that there are some factors that I am missing.

I honestly can not understand what you are going through because I've never been marired . I have had some grteat relationships,an for the most part it never had any anger, or remorse. In fact I am still great friends with most of them. But there have been a few breakups that were devistating. It was nothing like a divorce. The one thing I have learned about being single is that rather than fixate on a loss I have learned to roll with the freedom that comes along. For as much as I have gathered, some people simply can't be alone. And the others are quite comfortable with every day being alone. I've learned that having a few great friends works very well. Sorry for the long winded comment. but I do wish for you to be content, or at least feeling good about your self.
