An ongoing student of history, I invite you to read up on the 30 years war in 17th century Europe. Then you may understand the desperation of those so eager to emigrate to the young United States, in order to escape the neverending wars in the old country. And, the moral bankruptcy of "noblemen" who conscripted farmers and serfs to fight their petty squabbles.
