Different regions of Mexico have different names for food, making all confusing for this gringo.

@Artstan Not a big fan of answering either yes or no to "you live in Moose Jaw"? By the time I fired up my old Rust-o-matic and drove the +3,000 miles from Seneca, South Carolina, I might want to spend day one in their do tell, no tell, motel sleeping. On long, long trips I dodge motel bill by pitching a tent. However by day four, I want hot showers, cable TV and no meals over the camp fire. I have an urge to pat the Mac the Moose (huge statue), admire their vivid wall murals, visit the tunnel museum for bootleggers, visit their art museum (I'm a sucker for art museums), seen their center for burrowing owls, see the show at their casino or have dinner there, walked into their Canadian Brew Pub (they have more than one watering hole but I'm interested in that one) and drug Petunia out of their shopping mall, I would be done for the other day. They have a few other places like their museum of technology and way too many city parks I am willing to ignore. Two days there, I'd be happy. By the way, it sounds like a horrible place to live. I already live in a small town full of unfriendly goobers. A more serious issue is three years ago Petunia wanted to visit Alaska by cruise ship and I said I wanted to drive there instead. We could have visited Glacier National Park, crossed the Canadian Rockies visiting Moose Jaw on the way.
For wreckless consideration.

When I made the mistake of working for them it was a case of coke or a set of steak knives. If I didn't make the sale, the goods would be coming out of my paycheck. Since then anything that says "cold sales calls" I ignore. Even then over 80% of the potential customers would tell 'em to go away and take your steak knives with you. Here, there are no door to door salesmen except for those pushing bibles and JEZZZUUSSS. Largely the shortage of door to door salesmen is because of the shot gun factor. They've killed people for using their driveway to turn around.

@scurry Umm . . . no. Shrek is a Scottish ogre with an unwanted donkey side kick. In contrast Fluffy is an overweight Hispanic (see Mexican) who was at an Irish pub trying to fit in with an imitation Irish accent. Fluffy was getting drunk at the time and wanted to screw with their heads. Fluffy operates under the premise "I'm not fat. I'm fluffy." Like wise Shrek is a heavy weight. For too much details see: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qq236I20no8 "If you're not laughing, you need to get out more often. That's a funny joke. That's hysterical. @actofdog Petunia hates social media. Because like the rest of her family, she's a fundamentalist Southern Baptist I don't worry about her joining this group. Most people buy their airline tickets weeks, often months in advance. There's no way you could have seen this coming. Good luck getting your refund. You pay your money, you take your chances. We weren't planing to **stay** in Canada. Therefore with the extra gas cans, once we crossed into Canada, we'd have enough gasoline not to need to buy Canadian gasoline unless we got a yen to visit Hudson Bay.

WonderWartHog99 replies on Mar 17, 2020:
@EricJones I should have qualified it by saying ". . . in rural America." Best I can figure the entire town of Seneca, SC (population ~12,000) has five people from the Far East. Not sure if they're of Chinese origin. Maybe it's just me but when I visited China Town in NYC, San Diego and San Francisco, they were all out of bats. Here we treasure our bats (unless they get in the house). Our bat houses are ignored by the bats. We'll treasure anything that'll eat the mosquitoes. A few eons of the locals building mosquito eating purple martin houses has meant the purple martins don't know how to build a nest. "We can't stop here. It's bat country." -- Hunter S.
