Traveling
Zster comments on Mar 2, 2018:
Gosh, there's SO much to love! I have a huge soft spot for the by-boat-only islands off of Florida's west coast, where the sand is so white, one has to wear sunglasses, and the water so turquoise, you'll weep. All minus any development or crowds.
Which of these quotes is your favorite?
Zster comments on Mar 2, 2018:
Feynman. It captures a lot of nuance very concisely. Carlin came a close second, just because I love his delivery...

Nice!!!!
It's a bittersweet night, road-cruising migrating amphibians.
Zster comments on Mar 2, 2018:
I was checking tonight around here after the rain. It might have cooled down too much, because I saw none. Where were you cruising? Sorry for the casualties, but envy you the!rescue successes...

Kindle worth getting?
Zster comments on Mar 1, 2018:
I put the Kindle App on an iPad Mini 6 years ago and have never tegretted it. I can carry 100s of books in one hand and have the surfing/processing power of a computer in that same hand. LOVE it!
Avatars... WTF!!!?
Zster comments on Mar 1, 2018:
I had always used avatars for a host of reasons, mostly safety and since I was not seeking dates. I sympathize with you having experienced the very ugly harrassment that many feel free to dump on those who would rather not have their face all over the internet. The dumb part was that here, if one clicked on my profile, there were photos of me there. I have since decided that this being a closed group, I could try with pict and see how it goes... So far ok.
What makes you happy more than anything else?
Zster comments on Mar 1, 2018:
My childrens' happiness. Their enthusiasm or laughter, together melt my heart!
Do you like eggs?
Zster comments on Mar 1, 2018:
I love eggs! Yes, high dietary cholesterol, but the verdict is sort of out on the impact of that. Albumin is a complete protein. Eggs are very low cark and can be prepared low fat. My fave way to eat them: poached, soft, over lightly buttered rye toast. Quiches, custards, and omlettes are also the bomb!
I recently became single because my ex decided he couldn't live with my cat.
Zster comments on Mar 1, 2018:
I absolutely would not. Being willing to or requiring that I dump a beloved pet would be a huge point of incompatibility. Super huge.
Are there humans in here?
Zster comments on Mar 1, 2018:
Mostly. THERE's probably more than a few aliens tossed in to keep things interesting.
Are you more calculating or spontaneous?
Zster comments on Mar 1, 2018:
Spontaneous, go with the flow...
Good kitty kitty
Zster comments on Feb 28, 2018:

Are there any widows on here?
Zster comments on Feb 28, 2018:
To answer your question, yes, there are widows on this site, including some seeking dates. I was widowed 11 years ago, but have not been actively seeking dates while I finish raising my kids. If you want someone to chat widow stuff with, though, feel free to drop me a message. You also might want to check out the site widda.org. It was a lifeline whennI really needed one. They had a very active social/dating forum there. I am sorry for your loss, and sincerely wish you the best through this difficult journey.

Zster comments on Feb 27, 2018:
I would love to meet my husband again, marry, start the family, even if a repeat meant we'd lose him to cancer again. However, I would NOT be so selfish as to ask him to live through cancer again, much as I miss him now.
I am Myron Pihut.

What do you think?
Zster comments on Feb 27, 2018:
Not hard to love at all, unless you require dependence, rather than partnership, to deem someone lovable. That long-time singles likely have very high standards for what they would give up their singleness for, absolutely. Personally, I do not see that as a bad thing.
How many tree huggers out there have actually hugged a tree ?
Zster comments on Feb 27, 2018:
Maybe not hugged, but stroked and talked to... probably.
INDOORS OR OUTDOORS?
Zster comments on Feb 27, 2018:
Indoors. Rabies is endemic here and coyotes, bobcats are common, to say nothing of roaming dogs (usually pit bulls) and folks with guns who have zero qualms about shooting domestic animals. Also, as a vet, I've seen way roo much leukemia, FIV, FIP, etc... Each brings a horrible death. I've raised three feline generations inside so far. The house is roomy and full of enrichment for them. My last cat lived twenty years that way.

What's your saddest break up song ? [youtu.be]
Zster comments on Feb 26, 2018:
I have two: one as I said goodbye to my first teturned crush after a bus trip together out east. As my mom drove away, I turned on the radio and, as if on queue, "Sad Eyes" came on. It was awful! The second is one of several songs that really captures how I felt after losing my husband to cancer. https://youtu.be/l5grdfnGUss https://youtu.be/a4dXrV4FtjE
Star Wars or Star Trek?
Zster comments on Feb 25, 2018:
Love both, TBH. Wars tends to be more focused on one topic or niche of topics while Trek delved into a wider range of situations and issues.

Got a fave toy for your cats, or one that they seem to prefer?
Zster comments on Feb 25, 2018:

Mushrooms and flavorful sausage. I have recently had to give up tomatoes. The flavor of the toppings is so much more present without overpowering tomato. I was easantly surprised.

What is the worst purchase you’ve ever made?
Zster comments on Feb 24, 2018:
Either a Whirlpool clothes dryer that broke a pully within the first year and simply had to be replaced, OR two Koehler Toilets that were supposed to be unpluggable, yet plugged as badly as any toilet AND were made horribly cheap, despite costing me top $. Never again!
Were you aware that there is a treat on the counter ?

Tell about an exciting, fun, or interesting thing that happened to you while pursuing a favorite ...
Zster comments on Feb 21, 2018:
Ok, most absurd fishing story I've been a part of: My mom claimed to have caught a 24 inch catfish on a pink fuzzy panfish jig during the day. No witnesses or picture. Much skepticism. That night, my brother and I decide to catfish and drink beer. We borrowed every rod from the house, despite my husband not wanting us to touch his. While relaxing and chatting, VROOM! A rod flew off the dock into the lake! It was NOT my husband's. Picked up the other rods, just in case... bro got a huge hit on his, fought the fish a good long time. Got it to the dock: was the first rod that had shot into the water hooked by his. The fish was still on the first rod that we had just recovered! Bro managed to land the fish after a long battle with THAT rod. We netted the fish and ran to the house to get a photo as the catfish was big. The entire family came from their beds to see it. As Dad took the photo, my mom said, "Look! There's my pink lure!" Sure enough, we'd caught the same fish she'd claimed to have caught earlier that day. Guess the darned fish needed another lesson!
Can Women Truly Love Men?
Zster comments on Feb 21, 2018:
Of course we can love men! I certainly did! It had nothing to do with what I could get out of him as I am fully capable of sustaining myself. Love, for me, was based on joy together and shared experiences in a way that bonded us. It was wonderful!
Do you eat breakfast? Do you think it's the most important meal of the day?
Zster comments on Feb 21, 2018:

Do you like tea? If so, what kind do you drink?
Zster comments on Feb 21, 2018:
Strong teas tear up my stomach, but herbals, white, and rooibos are ok. I had developed a list of Teavana faves before they went away. I am a major Red Zinger fan.

How many meals a day do you need. ? I'm living on one
Zster comments on Feb 21, 2018:
Three if I start the day early. Two if I sleep in (9AM to 11AM). Frequent meals keep my blood sugar more consistent through the day, important if I am trying to head off diabetes. I track what I take in, so multiple meals do not add up to more food per day (target 1500 calories). It's just spread more over the day than in large sugar-spiking doses.

Hello
Zster comments on Feb 19, 2018:
Since I live in GA, I can answer... I am not very open about my disbelief, living here. I was real open in a secular meetup, but don't dare at work or around any school folks who could make my kids' lives miserable.
Since we all know religion people brainwashing their kids about their God which they can do that ...

Nope, I didn't. Those things still happened, but the kids knew it was the adults sneaking in, pretending to be. It was still fun, just in a different way.

Who gave you the 'birds and bees' lecture
Zster comments on Feb 19, 2018:
My mom, the very first time that I asked! (age five, I think). Her explanation was very clinical, complete with diagrams from a how-to sex book, and pictures from a Hustler magazine! I got in all kinds of trouble (so did she) when I told other kids about it. I never understood why, when I was telling the truth and that their stork-delivery parents were flat out lying.
Just a bad hair day..
Zster comments on Feb 19, 2018:
Sort of like folks asking if you are ok... when you're perfectly fine, possibly even great!

Newt Gingrich: “Atheist Philosophy” More Dangerous to Christianity Than Terrorists – Friendly ...
Zster comments on Feb 19, 2018:
Rational thinking SHOULD be a threat to faith. What worries me is his deliberate use of language to stir up a fear of violence (which is simply not there) amongst his fans/followers. THAT sort of shit (FoxNews anyone?) has already worked in getting certain people to fear, hate, justify initiating violence with "other", be they gay, foreign, or "damn liberals". Sigh. I don't need any more hate/fear directed at my nonbelief. I live in his state, so this sort of talk really could impact things for me. I already have to lay pretty darned low.
