Could someone who lives outside of the U.S. tell us how people there views what is happening here?
anglophone comments on Apr 2, 2020:
A view from the Land of the Convict: The religious crazies are busy spreading this pestilence as far and as wide as they can. The Idiot-in-Chief in the Oval Office is using his prejudice to increase the death rate among his political opponents. God Mobsters are using it as an excuse to try to foist their insanity upon other people. The medical system in the USA is loaded against the less wealthy, and serves to widen both the wealth gap and the health gap even more. "Truth, Justice and the American Way" is an oxymoron accepted by the morons that live there.

anglophone comments on Mar 31, 2020:
I do not see how the time lag is relevant to the death rate. Death rate is by definition the number of deaths divided by the number of those who have suffered, this last number being the sum of those who have died and those who have recovered. You appear to be engaging in predicting the death rate. I would suggest you wait until the pandemic is largely over - that way you will be able to get a much more accurate figure.

Your own health is both your concern and your responsibility. Efficacious medical practices are based on sound scientific research. The recovery of health based on Biblical claims is merely fortuitous. Medical practices based on the Buy Bull can also be lethal. Conservative Christians are infamous for both their bigotry and their inability to think rationally. Such people are thinking primarily of themselves and treating you with contempt. Their attempts to ram their non-existent god down your throat amounts to a violation of your human rights. Please know that you are an important human being. ((Hugs))

anglophone comments on Mar 17, 2020:
Nobody has produced any falsifiable evidence to support the existence claims of any gods in the last 5,000 years. As such, all those gods are fictional. (Unicorns and balrogs are also fictional.) Moreover, it is trivial to show that both the God of the Bible and the God of the Torah cannot exist. See also @BestWithoutGods' comment "All the literature provided by religions are based on nothing but blind faith". I much prefer the vision afforded by the Scientific Method rather than the blindness of myth-claimed-as-fact.

Is it irresponsible to travel now for non critical uses? Isn't that spreading the virus?
anglophone comments on Mar 15, 2020:
It depends on how that travel is done. Travel of itself covers all journeys ranging from visiting a neighbour next door to visiting friends on the other side of the world. I would be far more concerned about the number of people contacted in any Covid-19 hot spot than anything else. I am at the moment living in what appears to be a Covid-19 clear zone.
