What’s the longest you’ll allow dirty dishes to be in the sink?
birdingnut comments on Apr 22, 2018:
I am living in Thailand and don't have a sink, but if I leave a dirty dish anywhere for over ten minutes, I'm asking for an army of almost invisble ants to emerge from the walls and take over. I've learned to add a dollop of cooking oil to my scrubbing water, which seems to repel them for several days. Ordinary soap also seems to work, if I leave a soap film. They also crawl over my clothing, looking for skin flakes and can sting me relentlessly if I don't the right kind of body wash, or add a few drops of cooking oil to the container.
Are there any ladies with a sense of humor?
birdingnut comments on Apr 22, 2018:
Someone has to laugh at men's jokes! But you're right, I also find cis hetero women seriously lacking in humor..unless, like me, they have a generous dose of male traits. My cis hetero female friends and relatives used to laugh at some jokes, but ones that relate to them. But my mom didn't get most jokes. Like men do with women, I constantly crack jokes, and as it does with men, it attracts women. I suppose a strong humor instinct is an indication of levels of testosterone, since all my life it seemed to inspire even straight women to get crushes on me, and I'm a demisexual with no sexual attraction for anyone or any gender.

birdingnut comments on Apr 22, 2018:
I was born of American parents but grew up in Haiti, where half the island speaks Spanish, and the other half speaks Creole and French, so I grew up speaking all four languages, plus I learned Thai after I moved to Thailand in 2010. I even picked up Japanese, because my daughter learned it when she lived in Japan, and I started to become fluent in Japanese, until I realized it was overwriting my Thai and stopped using it.

Depends. If it's a random stranger just thank them and move on, but if it's someone in your life, adding that you're not religious might discourage them from doing it again. Many other people in the town were also mutated, but usually in a bad way.

birdingnut comments on Apr 20, 2018:
I never use nicknames for either people or pets, but when I was five in Haiti I had a beautiful American tuxedo cat named "Bootsie" that we began calling "Momma Cat" after a couple of litters. In Haiti, the stringy feral tabby cats are eaten by locals so they are rare. Because of this, any cats the white missionaries could manage to get were highly valued, especially ones with different coloring, and there were always waiting lists for Bootsie's kittens.

birdingnut comments on Apr 20, 2018:
If a guy is hanging with old friends and running around with them instead of paying attention to his girlfriend or wife, he'll soon be single again. Women expect the undivided attention of the men, or they toss their stuff on the lawn, change the locks and move on to a more attentive lover. Unless the woman is heavy in masculine traits..then she might join the guys in drinking and watching sports. When I was growing up I didn't understand the angry behavior of some of my girlfriends when I got a boyfriend. One close friend never spoke to me again. It wasn't until later that I realized she was probably bi and had crush on me. Since then, that has been a frequent occurrence, and I observed that far more woman react that way than I'd realized. As a demisexual, I don't experience sexual attraction, so I'm blind to it.

birdingnut comments on Apr 20, 2018:
It has more to do with your gender traits than your beliefs. I was raised a strict Christian but I never saw a problem with polyamorous relationships, perhaps because as a demisexual I feel no lust for anyone, except after over a year of a close relationship and then only with that one person. To me, sex is functional, like the digestive system. Yet I have learned that such multiple person relationships usually don't last long and jealousy tends to get involved, even though I seem incapable of getting jealous myself. If someone cheats on me, I just shrug and leave them. I used to think I stayed a virgin growing up because I was obeying my mom's rules, but now I see that I'd have been that way anyway, as sex is revolting to me without the bonding element.
How do you decide whether it's worth arguing with a religious person?
birdingnut comments on Apr 20, 2018:
I used to skip any argument but for some reason lately I've been leaving comments on religious posts on my Facebook page from the feeds of friends. I usually give a paragraph saying there's actually no god, mention the Sumerian texts and explain how the Hebrew god is really copied from "Anu" the Sumerian leader, leave a link to info on it. I don't expect a response, just leaving a hint for them to extricate themselves from that Christianity lie, if they are so inclined. My attitude is that if they defriend me, I couldn't care less.

Was Buddha a dead beat dad?
birdingnut comments on Apr 20, 2018:
Me'thinks you misunderstand Asian culture. Even the concept of the daddy, mommy, children living happily in a nuclear family is only a recent western paradigm..since the 1830s. Before that, vast, extended families, with fathers having little to do with child rearing, was the norm. In other cultures, especially here in Thailand, which is similar to that of the Nepal area, married couples often don't even live together, and the women prefer it that way. Marriage is for inheritance and children, but most people have side lovers, often of both genders since many seem to be bi.

Introversion is a common trait of high IQ people. In my case, it's from my androgyne nature. Male traits are typically found on the (nonverbal) right brain hemisphere, so having to talk to people quickly tires and annoys me. I enjoy people when I'm with them, but need to go outside for a long walk in nature to recharge and recover my inner peace.

birdingnut comments on Apr 17, 2018:
Arguing and contradicting a partner is a female trait. Women are typically in charge of hetero relationships, so want to keep the upper hand. In fact, a famous study shows that the only relationships that succeed long-term are those where the man yields to his wife. But that sounds like many of the people on this website. Not surprising, since creative, high IQ people are frequently androgyne, even they don't know it. It doesn't matter what I say, or how commonly certain things are known, someone will pop up to contradict and challenge me, declaring "fake news!" It's so annoying that I've almost reached the conclusion that dating someone high IQ is more annoying than it's worth. Better to have a less intelligent, but nice person.

For good. Good thing, too, as recent research has linked more than five drinks a week with increased cancer risk.
Now dear readers, I may need advice.

That's easy. If you own a needle, thread, and piece of elastic (you can borrow both from a woman, or buy one of those tiny sewing travel kits they sell at most stores) you can add a loop to one or more of the sheet corners, to anchor it while pulling the sheet to fit over the other corners. An easier solution, If you can find them; there are sheet straps you can clip onto the sheet corners to anchor it under the mattress.
Who do you look up to the most? and why?

Nobody. I like myself.
