That's a good one. I know you didn't write it but the proper reading of a limerick is important. A good one should employ proper syntax (very important) and use unlikely and clever rhymes, puns and other such word-play. I would have written it something like this: There will once be a lady named Bright Who could travel much faster than light She went jogging one day In a relative way And returned on the previous night. You see, you don't stumble on the syntax

@NothinnXpreVails It used to be done by pioneers of photography like Man Ray, and subsequently often a vehicle used by "Fine Art photographers". I also used to have fun putting positive transparencies in the negative holder (like slides) of the enlarger and making negative prints. I guess with digital photography it's now a lot easier! Also, with some I Phone apps, I believe you can make images that look like solarizations, or old damaged photos or tin-types etc. They kind of take the fun out of creative photography, but, there you are! I have mixed feelings about computerized art. It robs the artist of his creativity. Make something too easy and it becomes redundant or mundane.

Didn't the east Germans make the Exacta or something like that with a Zeis Lens, or were they made in Russia too? I'll bet that is the very street where the famous "Battle" was fought! On second thought, it probably didn't look like that in the 11th Century! Are these photos scanned from ...

@Forkbeard I guess the scanner I use for transparencies is a cheap one, because I get better results with the one I rigged up to use with you DSLR. What kind of scanner do you use?

Do you have an infra-red setting on your phone?
fishline79 replies on Jul 10, 2018:
@LB67 I said that because I experimented with infra red color film back in the 70s. If you use (I believe an 85 filter) it does very interesting things with colors. Everything green in the scene comes out red, for example. I was really just kidding about your cell phone!

Oh please! What does it take? Just read the postings and you will see what "I" am trying to say. Put your two bits in if you agree, or not! Nobody ever takes time to listen, read or understand anything these days. Do you actually know that a lot of people thought that we (I) were Holocaust Deniers? I don't know how I can make it any clearer! Please don't think I'm being ascerbic but I am a song-writer who has produced 11 albums of (largely critical and protest songs). I have been often misunderstood over the years because nobody ever takes the time to listen!....... davidfishel.net.......Watch out for those mosquitos and ticks up there in N.H.

@TroyBarber64, @Lincoln55 Composition is what it's all about! (and illumination). Ansel adams would go out into Yellowstone with 30 pounds of camera and 8x10 plates and a tripod. He'd spend the day and come back sometimes with only one or two exposed plates; Maybe none at all. I'm sure you have seen the results!

@TroyBarber64 But if you work in photography, why not use a camera? Phones are for talking or texting. Cameras are for taking pictures! I'm a photographer too, and I don't want a "smart phone". Computers have fucked up everything! I'm 71, BTW and glad I grew up in a time when there were no computers and you used your land-line to call somebody and nobody from India ever called you!

@Beach_slim Theoretically, Socialism wants equality or wealth sharing. Whether it works is up to the human beings who exercise it. True Marxism has never really existed, and it was never "Communism" I think the best societies at least make a stab at Socialist systems. Unfortunately every system is invariably betrayed by the greed for wealth and power by people who call themselves Politicians.
do you list the NRA with the KKK? Do you really equate gun ownership with racial discrimination??
fishline79 comments on May 22, 2018:
I sure do. The NRA was originally formed back at the beginning of the 20th century to control arms proliferation. It was since commandeered by right-wing groups (like the KKK) to keep such laws from passing. I was not saying that it was PART of the KKK but just part of the same political movement....

@DarrelScott Yes, and those "Dixicrats" have since gone over to the Republican side of the aisle. (Republicans in the 19th Cent. being the party of Lincoln!)
