freedom41 comments on Aug 2, 2018:
I try not to think about religion. It's a complete waste of time and try to avoid it when brought up by others. I have spent to much of my life with religious bs being cramed down my throat. I'm so happy to be free of it. I wish the world was free of it as well. We have to live life to the fullest.

People will respect you if you respect them? True or false?
freedom41 comments on Aug 2, 2018:
False. Some rich people will have no respect for no matter , how respectful you are to them. They believe they are superior to anyone who works in retail or makes less than $100,000. Which is very sad.

Why do you reject the idea of religion?
freedom41 comments on Aug 1, 2018:
It ruined my life. It shows how gullible some people are. I should not have to hide that im attracted to men or want to become a woman. Its my life.

For those who have no children, would you date a partner with a child?
freedom41 comments on Jul 31, 2018:
Most likely I wouldn't date a person with children. I have no desire to be a father. I don't the patience and understanding a child would need. No, I wouldn't consider them my own if I ended up with a partner with children and do little with raising them.

Why do you think majority of people still believe in God?
freedom41 comments on Jul 30, 2018:
To many need religion as a crutch, because they can't stand on there own. I was a believer and found a way to be happy without the religious dogma. The world might be a better place if others can do it as well.
Can't you try to believe?
freedom41 comments on Jul 30, 2018:
I choose to believe in scientific proof and not fairy tales. I'm glad to be an atheist. The last 5 mouths have been better than the decades of brain washing.

freedom41 comments on Jul 27, 2018:
Mine would be my early to mid 30s and wondering why I am still single. Wondering why females don't find me desirable. I'm no Brad Pit, but reasonably attractive. In time period wondering why treat me like crap based on my youthful appearence and job.
Leaving a faith you're raised in can be a long journey.

Turn Back Time?
freedom41 comments on Jul 26, 2018:
I would say age 19. I moved out of the house and i could have done away with god/religion. It would have more preductive than way life really turned out. Since, there wouldn't be any restraints on how I would live my life. I could have a wife that was a stripper or life partner(man) for the last 20 plus years for example.
It's happening !!!!! ????????
freedom41 comments on Jul 26, 2018:
Way to go. I hope your reach it by the end of the day. Just think that t shirt is on its way to your house. I wish I was that close to reaching level 7.
Shocking news, the Catholic Church doesn't like them transgenders [modbee.com]
freedom41 comments on Jul 26, 2018:
That's a shame. The catholic cult is more understanding than the others. They are still brain washed by dogma, which makes them 2 faced. There have been brief times I thought about becoming a woman. I thought would be happier if I did. The money for the surgeries, etc. is biggest hurdles. I'm still debating with myself to do it or not. I'm sure anyone who reads this wouldn't have problem with it.
Tips on coming out?
freedom41 comments on Jul 26, 2018:
I will let you know after I do it. My parents are the same way and I consider myself an pansexual as well. I know they won't take it well and I'm afraid they will take me out of the will.
If you were once religious, why are you not now?
freedom41 comments on Jul 26, 2018:
I had a family member imply that I would go hell is if I change religious sects. So, I thought screw god and religion, I will try atheist. I'm so glad I did. Now, I can do whatever I want without feeling guilty about it. I have no problem with having a husband one day instead of a wife. Or get some tattoos and piercings. it's my right to smoke pot if I want to or not. I put it on my bucket list since I became an athieist.
Raised in the faith
freedom41 comments on Jul 26, 2018:
I found it fairly easy to walk away from. It was a great relief that I wasn't wasting my time and money on dogma. I'm still in the closeted atheist, but being liberated from the bs of religion is great. Religion ruined my life and trying to fix it isn't easy. I hope I can repair all the damage some day. I wondered how my life would be if I was raised as an atheist.
Science and Philosophy Offer More for Grief than Religion Bereavement is horrible, but religion is ...
freedom41 comments on Jul 26, 2018:
Now that I believe how the world really is, religion will never comfort me if a loved one passes away. Death is just part of our life cycle.
How convinced are you?
freedom41 comments on Jul 26, 2018:
My life is proof enough there is no god. I'm 100 % certain that there are no deities and science proves that big bang created the universe and not god. Imaginary things can't create anything at all. I'm so glad I saw the world for what it is when I became an atheist 5 plus months ago. I'm a little embarased that I was brain wash for so many years and wish I would have broke free of it earlier in life. Now I can be myself more in public.
Did anyone else go through the stages of Atheism?
freedom41 comments on Jul 25, 2018:

How do you people feel about prenups?
freedom41 comments on Jul 23, 2018:

Screaming “Oh God” in bed....
freedom41 comments on Jul 23, 2018:
There is no reason to go to church in first place. Having sex on a Sunday morning is more productive than brain washing.
Did anyone else ever fantasize about creating a community of non-believers?
freedom41 comments on Jul 22, 2018:
The thought of kind of community has come to mind. You have put more thought into it than have. I would like to be part of that community.
I am getting closer to level 8.
freedom41 comments on Jul 22, 2018:
At least getting close to level 8. Which is quite an accomplishment. Im still trying reach level 7. Which is taking forever.
How religious family members "support" you.
freedom41 comments on Jul 21, 2018:
Good for you, that you had the courage to tell your family that your an atheist. Hang in there. You are stonger than you think. If you can't reason with the family, consider distancing yourself from them.

Marriage or Domestic Partners?
freedom41 comments on Jul 20, 2018:
Leave out the religious bs of marriage and the titles are almost the same thing. Biggest difference is that marriage requires a certificate and the other does not. Either title is fine with me if you leave out the religious bs. Religion ruins practically everything in the world.
Personal safety.
freedom41 comments on Jul 20, 2018:
I'm in the closet for the most part, but I do fear for my safety with the current president in office. Only the people on this site and one other know I'm in my own gender. It's a shame there is so many closed minded people in the world that we can't feel safe living in it.
Sin or not, if yes, why?
freedom41 comments on Jul 20, 2018:

Religious and Athiest
freedom41 comments on Jul 13, 2018:
I think it is possible for the relationship to work. It won't be easy by no stretch of the imagination. During some point in the relationship the atheist can turn the religious from dark side dogma. I willing to do this for wouldn't die alone.

Does age matter to you when it comes to love or dating?
freedom41 comments on Jul 13, 2018:
For biological needs there is not much of problem with a big age gap. For other things that pertain to your generation and not theres could cause a rift in the relationship.
Men/Women, Is sex a requirement for an enjoyable romantic relationship?
freedom41 comments on Jul 12, 2018:
Good sex is a key to healthy marriage. Most couples need to do it at least 3 times a month for lasting bond. Doing other stuff like in common is good, but only can take you so far. That's just my opinion and others may feel differently.
How do you feel about religious music being played in a gym?
freedom41 comments on Jul 12, 2018:
I'm glad my gym doesn't play that closed minded music. I might consider canceling my membership, because of it.
It doesn't work, the devil won't show up... It's been 30 years and he hasn't answered yet!

Are atheists criticising the wrong things about religion?
freedom41 comments on Jul 5, 2018:
I think that we criticize every wrong thing that religion/god represents. It's nice of them to give food, shelter, and money to help the poor. Craming dogma down there throats in process is wrong and shouldn't be an requirement of that help.
I know it's summer right now, but I was just wondering . . .

Would you raise your children religious just to fit in?
freedom41 comments on Jun 29, 2018:
No, I wouldn't raise my children that way to fit in. They need to know the truth about the world, and not to believe in stupid fairy tales. I know I would have been happier if I was. Also, tell to be respectful of others beliefs, so that get along with more people.
Why are hard-to-believe faiths more popular? Baptists vs. Quakers
freedom41 comments on Jun 29, 2018:
I don't know why people flock to the baptist cult. My guess some people need some kind of goal to work tords. It was forced on my due to my parents and other family members. I'm glad I finally saw the light 4 mouths ago.
I was very religious, and I used to pray with my son a lot, we also went to church every Sunday.
freedom41 comments on Jun 29, 2018:
Tell him the truth. It might sting for awhile, but your son will get over it eventually. Make it clear it's his decision to believe in fairy tales or reality. I wish I stopped believing in fairy tales early in life. Your son might be an happier when leaves the bs of religion/god. I know I am.
Would you have a wedding with religious aspects incorporated in it?
freedom41 comments on Jun 29, 2018:

Where do we go from here.
freedom41 comments on Jun 28, 2018:
I would say it would all of the above. I feel we are so screwed all those republicans in office. We need more independents in office for major change in the right direction.

I went to Pride in Minnesota this past weekend.
freedom41 comments on Jun 28, 2018:
I would have been disappointed to if I didn't see an atheist booth at pride event. I don't know why there are not more gay atheists in the world. Since, the religious, close minded fools frown on us so much. The constitution applies to us as well. All people are created equal no matter what sex they prefer.
Ok this is a good one.

Did you grow up atheist or agnostic?
freedom41 comments on Jun 22, 2018:
No, I didn't grow up atheist. I wish would have brought up atheist. Then I wouldn't have been burdened with religious bs/god for nearly all my life. I love thinking for myself and getting to enjoy the world as it is. Growing up baptist really narrowed my thinking until I saw the light and left the dark side of religious bs/god. It's hard dating, being married, etc. to someone with different views of the world. Some people can deal with it and be happy. Then there is people that can't find common ground. There are ways for all of us to get along. It's just matter of finding it.

Suicide: a cowardly move? True or false?
freedom41 comments on Jun 12, 2018:
False. Suicide may the only way to get rid of the pain that made you feel this way. It's a persons choice to live or commit suicide. There were a number of times I considered committing suicide in my 30s. I felt alone, because no one outside of family cared that I was on this planet. I'm glad I found reasons to live, but it's not cowardly to do so.
Being religious will not save you from suicide.
freedom41 comments on Jun 11, 2018:
Probably 80 % of suicides have to do with religion.
For those brought up In religious households, do you remember at what point your world changed?
freedom41 comments on Jun 11, 2018:
My world changed when a family member told me there is one way to believe in and others are wrong. I have the right to choose what I believe. I'm not a child. Becoming an atheist is the best decision I ever made. It's so liberating to free of dogma. I know I have mentioned this in a number of posts. I do wish I became an atheist earlier in life. For I could enjoy the happiness I have now, earlier in my life. Now I see all religions are nothing but cults and have no desire go back to the bs.
Atheism is expanding faster than ever.

How do you tell religious people that you're an atheist?
freedom41 comments on Jun 10, 2018:
Flat out telling them your an atheist is the best way. You have the right to believe in whatever you like. If some people want to believe in fairy tales it's there right and rest of us who believe in non fairy tales that is our right to do so.
