Lawyer, geologist, former geology professor, motorcycle enthusiast, father of 3 grown daughters, vegetarian (mostly), atheist
Hey y'all: I was an environmental geologist and professor for 20 years before going into law and now have my own small law practice in SW Ohio (www.bambergerlaw.com). I have been involved in forming the state bar association's animal law committee and legislation protecting non-human animals for many years now; a point of pride for me. I favor felony, prison sentences for animal abusers (and traitors in The White House). My love in practice is animal law and I'm general counsel for several non-human animal shelters and a wolf rescue and sanctuary.
My life passions are motorcycle riding and -distance touring, politics, American presidential history, football, wolves and dogs, good food, tasty cigars and whiskey, and tattoos (two sleeves, working on my right leg). Besides family events, the joy of my life is being on a 4,000-mile motorcycle trip on "The Mistress" to some place new; either riding with friends or alone with my beloved classic rock music playing in my helmet. I'm a member of the Cruisers Riding Club.
I was an agnostic for 20 years before becoming an atheist circa 2002. I was raised as an orthodox Jew, which I hated and from which I ran asap. Half my ancestry was killed by the Nazis, so I am proud of my heritage, but abhore the religion, in all forms. I have had 9-10 near-death experiences so far, so I've got that going for me.
I adore open-minded, intellectual flirtation and debate with educated and diverse people. Conversely, I do not suffer intellectual fools or hypocrites well. I have two doctorates, yet at times feel like the most idiotic fool in a room.
