I severely curtailed my FB use once I became active here. There are members and former members that I interact with on FB, but because of the radical responses on FB I no longer post except in closed groups, have turned off the ability for others to post on my timeline and generally just lurk. I have friends IRL that are republician, democrat, libertairian, religious, and non religious. I value differing opinions, real facts and reasoned debate. You will not find anything resembling reasoned debate on the internet. I will remain here un less and until I find something better. I don't forum shop, so if you find something please post so I can check it out. I value the friendships I have made here and the people I have met from here, so I will remain and hope others do also.

When I first got married, we moved the tv into the bedroom while we were snowed in. We decided that was the worst mistake we could have made. Too much temptation to stay up later than you would because you are already in bed, at least for us. Too this day, when I am at home, no tv in the bedroom, no eating in the bedroom, no phone unless I am expecting a call. When I am on the road, whole different story.

One more thing, until you know how they will react, do not feed them together. I had one dog that was the most non aggressive pup you can imagine, new kittens showed up while he was eating and tried to eat from his dish. The normal quick nip to correct snapped it's neck.

I have had some very cat aggressive dogs over the years, the most effective for me was to do the introduction outside, holding the cat. Depending on how it went from there, it was cat in a cat carrier, dog on a short leash walking slowly by the cat carrier, rewards for no action. Once they passed that test it was inside and the dog was never alone with the cat until I was sure it was OK. Once they realized that the cat was part ofd the pack, it was good.
