Never denigrate your talent, I've know pros that could produce volumes of crap. Our best photographers would only even bring in 10% of their pictures for evaluation sometimes. sometimes it is nothing more than the luck of timing. One of my early published pictures was taken on an Instamatic that I kept in my desk for the people that visited the newspaper when the photographers weren't around. I got a great shot of Desmond Tutu that the editor liked better than the ones staged. I had it developed and put in my office, he saw it and that week it was in the newspaper.
