@SeaGreenEyez Anywhere in the production process, copies can be pulled and spirited away. From the printer, to the binder, to the shipper. It doesn't matter if they are all under one roof or not. Over the years I had quite a collection of books that were unaccounted for. ie press overrun. In order to get 500 copies I had to deliver 550 to the bindery. They bound them all until they ran out of signatures. Sometimes it was 501 and sometimes it was 550. I delivered 500 that were ordered.

@SeaGreenEyez I don't think Trump realizes that at this point all he is doing is driving sales up. Every small bookstore in the country is already planning on how to bootleg sell if they have to. Common practice with a banned book is to sell all the copies to one person at list, then they are not bound by the subsequent cease and desist unless addressed to them. The book is out there and since the newspapers already have advance copies, the damage is inflicted, the only question is how deep a cut it will inflict. I have little use for Bolton, but if he can sink Trump, good for him.

@azzow2 "Van der Waals forces include attraction and repulsions between atoms, molecules, and surfaces, as well as other intermolecular forces. They differ from covalent and ionic bonding in that they are caused by correlations in the fluctuating polarizations of nearby particles (a consequence of quantum dynamics)." So far this is no proof that gravitons exist except in theory "In theories of quantum gravity, the graviton is the hypothetical quantum of gravity, an elementary particle that mediates the force of gravity. There is no complete quantum field theory of gravitons due to an outstanding mathematical problem with renormalization in general relativity."

@Donotbelieve It takes a lot of practice to get plantains right. They are very starchy and the time between when they are perfect to cook and go bad is short. I learned a lot about them when I was in Belize. They are slightly sweeter than a sweet potato with the same consistency.

@Sticks48 Dallas has been blue for at least 12 years when we flipped evey countywide office to Dem, during that period we had a Rethug DA for 2 years appointed by Abbott and one county commissioner R. Ft worth will flip this election most likely.
One of our own @girlwithsmiles made level eight. That's an accomplishment.

@JackPedigo When I still had a dog, they would leave half eaten fish in the yard. ducks are a whole different animal, they'll wipe out a fish pond in a day, it's been 20+ years since I had any ducks. I can put up with a dog that likes to swim in the pond, but ducks that like to empty the pond of all living things are a whole different thing.

I love the zoos that have rescues. It's a win-win.
glennlab replies on Jun 8, 2020:
@MissKathleen I am not in favor of zoos or wildlife parks in general, but where they can provide a home for animals thnat otherwise would have to be destroyed or could not survive in the wild, they do provide for their care and raise awareness.

Throw a wire cage into the pond for the fish to escape into to be protected if they don't already have protection.
glennlab replies on Jun 7, 2020:
@FrayedBear comets are the variety of goldfish, I've had them grow that much and more in a year. The bigger they get the more tempting they are for the osprey, right now I've got a little over 200 in the pond, by this time next year, I'll be lucky to have 50, I'll buy 100 for $15-$20 to suplement the population.

@FrayedBear We've know about the critters for decades, this is the fifth pond and I have had here, like I said prior experience. I lost a lot of expensive fish before I switched to feeders. The comets will get 8-12 inches by the end of the season.

I've seem opossum around my yard and in the neighborhood, but never raccoons. We had a time when a family of gray fox would roam near by. We heard them before we saw them. We haven't had any around for some time. No calls and no sightings.

They have to be made in a sterile environment, any person walking through much less all of the people in his group would be cause to scrap a run. I'm willing to bet that they only fired the line up while he was there the immediately shut down for decontamination.

@TheGreatShadow I was going to comment that a skilled craftsman could make sure to extract the highest level of pain without killing. The Romans were masters of torture. A crusifixion could take a week to kill under the right circumstances or as short as a few hours. The Romans also had several different types of whips used in punishment depending on the desired effect.
