I've come to the conclusion that trumps supporters WANT to live under authoritarian rule.

They are ignorant or ill-informed enough to want that. But, once they experience the down-side of that oppression on themselves, they will change their minds quickly.

Try living in one of those underserved communities where it can be an all day affair only to find out that they have removed you from the rolls. For many people it is much harder than others. The reason the voting rights act require preclearence to any change in voting times or locations was the abysmal record those states had in allowing voting. Every state convention I hear about how republican counties are locating most of their polling places in white areas and few in the non white areas.

glennlab replies on Feb 15, 2020:
@Captnron59 some states and localities did at first. The last major rounds of liberalization of liquor laws were around the Vietnam war when states had changes to age, point of sale, type of packaging, transportation, and public consumption. Most of the most liberal of those have been rolled back now except hours in states that have legalized gambling casinos.

@whiskywoman It is a relatively good explanation for weapons designed prior to 1968 (99 %) but drifts to much earlier technology 1950s for the secondary charge. Todays weapons are mostly smaller 2kt to 1.5 mt with the bulk in the 600 kt range the last near 10MT weapon was removed from the inventory for bombers in the 70s and missiles in the 80s. glennlab comments on Jan 30, 2020:
That just goes to show the number of issues that texans are concerned about. With a 22 way split, for most important, the real question should have been do you support legalization for recreational use, medical use? Are you in favor of decriminalization? These type of polls are done to establish ...
glennlab replies on Jan 30, 2020:
@OldGoat43 I've designed polls before and this one was most likely designed to downplay support for a multitude of items and to allow misuse of the data. Approx 60% of Texas support recreational legalization, but it is not the most important issue but to 3%.

SiouxcitySue comments on Jan 28, 2020:
Also, why are they considered a "person"? As in, Hobby Lobby can refuse to pay for birth control for it's employees on religious grounds.??!!! WTF?
glennlab replies on Jan 28, 2020:
They were always considered artificial people with limited rights and spelled out responsibilities. It has been a slow errosion of the seperation between artificial people and real people, there is a stong disagreement over which was the worst agrievance. Whether allowing corps to have free speech (as in money talks), granting the rights of ownership (at diferent tmes, corps could not own anything except their means of productions, no other corporations, no patents, no copyrights), unlimited life (corps used to have limited life with disolution after a set number of years). or the veil of secrecy (some corporations can hide who their owner are).

glennlab replies on Jan 27, 2020:
@KevinAverett It was originally in greek, These were the only copies of many documents since Rome burned the entire area of Judea after the uprising in 66 CE. All people were exiled and every document burned and every building leveled. The Greeks were the chronicallers of knowledge. The Greek was not translated into Latin until around the 4 th century CE. Latin was the language of the Roman empire and the language of commerce even after the fall of the Holy Roman empire (approx 800=1806CE) Since the church was based in Rome and the leaders were primarily Italian, Latin became the language of the Roman church. The Greek church still used the Greek texts.
Do young people wonder what πŸ’Ύ originally refers to?

@scurry I'll never forget my first hard wired remote terminal, it was the size of a typing desk, had 6 inch 1 K hard drive, that was more memory than I would ever be able to use to get ahead of the mainframe.
