@ShadowAmicus I'm just going to go back to the one I had with a new liner, there are a lot of considerations that I had to take into account and the location, shape, size (2500 gal), are pretty much decided. I already have the liner andpond set up, I just need to empty the underwater features out, drop the new liner in, make the modifications for the overhangs, reinstall the underwater features, add water, chemicals, plants, then add fish,

@vertrauen The problem is GMO has not been defined. In the broadest sense @Charlene is correct. If by GMO you mean that alien items have been added to the gene sequence, then that is a wholely different argument. Since she was the first to use the term while i may disagree with her definition, she has a right to define terms. But even in commercial definitions GMO does include some things that could have been achieved by selective breeding, but were instead done in the laboratory. Whole can of worms. I'm going to add more overhangs and an exit ramp so they might not rip the liner,

Such a huge part of my early childhood. I remember these guys playing on the radio when I was little. I was singing along, learning every word, without even understanding what any of them meant until much, MUCH later. LOL

I'm a few years older, but they were a big part of my youth. I was in 8th grade when they came out.

Coincidence that a white guy chose a place near the border? He clearly had no intention of dying. Why else would he be wearing eye and ear protection? He planned. This wasn't a spur of the moment impulse. There is no doubt in my mind that this guy is a 45 supporter. None.

@AmelieMatisse I used to love fishing for them when I lived on the coast, 2 small sharks would fill a lot of freezer space, and one of the easiest to clean and store. It has been so long since I fished for one I haven't read the regulations in 30 years. The only rules were no scalloped hammerheads and no wasting of the fish, I know there are a lot more now.

@AmelieMatisse I should have known better because of my first couple of shark mess ups, if it's overdone, throw it away, even the dog won't eat it. But I didn't put them together as the same type of meat.

Can you imagine if you tried that in a rental. I have remodled 9 rooms( some more than once) in my house and added countless changes to my yard over the past 30+ years as well as added a patio cover. Each change has my own flavor, or that of my ex. It is a reflection of me and what makes me comfortable. I have a treehouse, that is still standing 25 years later with a 16 foot slide attached. I would not have been able to do any of that with a rental. Since it is paid off, my housing costs are miniscule in my retirement.

@StarvingArtist, @Trajan61, @nicknotes Baytown Texas tried the dikes, pumps, and some fill, finally the Feds and state offered a buyout at the value before the subsidence began. High up front cost, but long term savings. It will be far more expensive to allow the people to stay.

@StarvingArtist, @Trajan61 New Orleans should have done what Galveston did in 1900. Galveston raised the entire Island by 12 feet, much more fill than New Orleans would take.
