@Qualia He does live on a farm but they no longer have cattle that he enjoyed kinda sorta play working dog with (though he's only a pet, but he felt like he was working the herd). I can't tell what else is in him really. He tried to dig into one of my yards at the boarding building. I found him trying to get into my yard at the house but one of my dogs was out there and was barking at him.

graceylou replies on Oct 26, 2018:
@KenChang Some people would consider those who disagree with conventional ideas or who refuse to conform to be difficult. It’s worse when you refuse to agree or conform to make life easier for everyone. For example, I’m vegan. My friends and my family find that makes things more difficult. They feel they have to try to accommodate me and that’s more work. And if they ask me why I’m vegan and I tell them they get offended and tell me I’m pushing my beliefs. Why do you have to be difficult, Grace? But then there’s also something like me telling someone who gives me flowers that it’s a ridiculous thing to do. Why would you give me dead plant parts that I would have to lock up in a room so my cats won’t eat them? It just doesn’t make sense to me.

@Cms0428 I’ve helped people rehome cats and I’ve adopted some from others too. I wish I could help. If you use Facebook there might be local groups or pages that allow you to post pets for rehomes. Unless you know the person, always ask a small fee, even $10-20 to reduce chances of it being someone who wants to abuse animals. Rehoming cats is not easy because so many need homes. A lot of rescues also do not take owner surrenders. But give them a try anyway. Good luck.

graceylou replies on Oct 26, 2018:
@Trajan61 The community I live in pretty much leaves you alone to do your own business. Most would profess to be Christians or that they believe in god, but only a few go to church. They don't ask you questions. My relatives know I'm very outspoken and rebellious as I have been that way since I was barely a toddler. I denounced a gift of a baby doll when I was 2 stating that I should not be given a gift that was different from my brothers'. I kinda did end up in a fight with the minister at the party because he insisted that he had met me before at my parents' church and I had never been there, never met him, and would not be caught dead in a church. I had a massive shouting match with my Dad because he attacked my lack of belief in god, saying that rational thinking is a problem because it causes us to lose faith in god. Are you kidding me? And that came from a retired surgeon and medical specialist, a man who relied on science for his profession.

I was the first in my immediate family to reject religion. My younger brother followed soon, then my older brother. My parents still go to church. I was recently at my parents' golden anniversary party, and their very annoying pastor was there and led a prayer. Only my cousin and I did not participate. I was quite disappointed with my brothers. One of my aunts complained that "the young people" don't go to church anymore, like there's something wrong or lacking about us.

I totally understand. My parents called me difficult because I dated someone who was of African heritage and I refused to date only Asians. I went against their outdated and bigoted ideas and religious hypocrisy. I have always been stubborn and stood by my convictions because i support equality, justice, and fairness. I rebelled because I hated being treated differently from my brothers. I also tried to help the poor, I was always an animal activist, and I supported the LGBTQ community. Apparently, doing so annoyed a lot of people. I’m still very much the same today. I still fight for the underdog, the oppressed, the persecuted. Most people in my environment don’t care about these things as long as their status quo and ignorance serve them well. I challenge people and because of that I get labelled difficult.

@Meili I think we are not unalike. I don’t follow other people’s conventions about relationships. I do what is right for me because it’s me I have to be able to live with. I’ve been accused of having no feelings or emotions or I’m not considerate of other people. And I don’t really care. If it doesn’t make sense to me, it just doesn’t make sense to me. I know you are looking for feedback but ultimately you have to go with your rationale and your gut feeling. May be make a list of the positives and the negatives of this relationship for you. Do the positives outweigh the negatives or the other way around? Are you willing to take the risk of being hurt or hurting someone (and other risks you deem important to consider)? I’m sure none of us here has all the information to make the correct suggestions for you.
How can someone be 100% certain that a god doesn't exist?
graceylou comments on Oct 24, 2018:
Since it's an idea made up by people, and there has never been any evidence of its existence in the entire span of human existence, I choose to say I'm 100% certain there is no god. I'm also 100% confident unicorns don't exist. The other side would have to prove their existence first, or at least ...

@IdenIzzat We can what if anything. There is no reason to do so. I would rather start with things not existing until I’m proven wrong.

graceylou replies on Oct 23, 2018:
@kmdskit3 Yes, I can see. I help all animals. We don't get a lot of stray dogs here but there are a lot of stray and feral cats. Rural properties are also popular places for cat dumping. I can't take in too many dogs either because there is a bylaw limit on them. No limit of how many cats you can have (since farm properties have cats for pest control).

@kmdskit3 Believe it or not, I'm not really a cat person!!! I'm a dog person. But cats seem to like me and have a special connection with me. Go figure.
What is your favorite season? Why?
graceylou comments on Oct 23, 2018:
I voted spring. Because after a long cold friggin' winter, I like seeing the snow melting and bright green grass popping up from underneath.
graceylou replies on Oct 23, 2018:
@JenBeberstein I used to live on the west coast where the grass of my lawn would never die off in winter. They stay green but a dull green. Here, the grass turn brown/yellow and die over winter (the above ground grass blades, that is). Around May or so, when the new grass comes out, it's a glorious bright shining almost neon green sea of grass everywhere.

@kmdskit3 One thing about the former ferals, they are extremely destructive. Everything will be in shreds in no time. I've just replaced all their beds with new ones. I've learned not to give these guys anything like pompom toys or fluffy balls to play with because in a few minutes they are completely obliterated with fluff all over the place.

I have never seen a male belly dancer before....Is ATS common to many countries in South America or just Brazil? He is very supple.
graceylou replies on Oct 22, 2018:
ATS is common all over the world now but originated in the US. Usually it’s danced as a troupe (tribe) and it’s improvisational (with cues shared by the troupe). Male belly dancers are not uncommon and some of the big names in bellydance are males. I’ve danced with and trained under several male bellydancers. The male torso and abdominal muscles are in fact better suited for belly undulations than the female counterparts. However, most male bellydancers opt for more masculine style costuming. This dancer opts to wear some of the same costuming as the women. And he wears it well!!!

graceylou comments on Oct 22, 2018:

But I work in pet boarding so sometimes I deal with 40-50 dogs of all sizes. I should’ve taken a picture of Foxy trying to get into the house but I didn’t have my phone.
