My first name is Ian, Scottish for John who wrote a gospel and is also a saint My second name is Patrick, patron saint of Ireland. Atheism, is it mainly just in relation to the Abrahamic religions?

Christians and Muslims (in all their guises) are the two largest religious groups in the world, as far as I'm aware, so the atheists I come across have all come from the above two as well as Judaism. Are there, and do we have any on this site, atheists whose former religion was none of the above? I would like to hear anybody's thoughts on this but would be especially interested in someone who has 'escaped' a non Abrahamic religion.

Your tattoos and the story behind it/them

I've only got one and yes I know it's full of 'stuff'. It's framed in a cartouche and contains: The hieroglyph for the Eye of Horus representing wisdom and protection, the astrological symbols for Cancer, Leo & Scorpio (Me and my daughters) and the hieroglyph for forever/eternally, the latter bit also being the piece of music my parents danced to at their wedding.

God doesn't intervene

I work with a christian lady, we get on fine and sometimes have discussions about life, the universe and everything. On one occasion she informed me that god (the Abramic god) doesn't intervene in human affairs. So I asked does that not make god irrelevant and prays a waste of time?
