Does anyone have an opinion of the swinger lifestyle?
kiramea comments on Feb 24, 2018:
I'm not a swinger, but I am usually in open relationships. From my understanding the difference between us is I don't care for casual sex.
Hacked Appliances?
kiramea comments on Feb 24, 2018:
I remember reading several years ago that one of the theories about the Christian Apocalypse had to do with AI/appliances rebelling against us. Eventhough I'm an atheist, this scenario actually concerns me with all the smart appliances getting smarter and the ability to easily hack them.
When someone invites you to a wedding, how do you feel?
kiramea comments on Feb 24, 2018:
I've been known to give the lucky couple my condolences. They don't exactly appreciate that.
Feminist?
kiramea comments on Feb 24, 2018:
I believe that everyone is equal, and should be paid the same if they can do the same job. I believe that every woman should have the right to determine what is right for them in regards to healthcare and reproductive rights. (My sister had to get permission from her abusive husband in order to get a medically necessary hysterectomy 20yrs ago) I believe that women should have the same advantages as men do in EVERY way. I do NOT believe that women are superior to men.
Are there some of you who have had to sever relationships with overly religious family members?
kiramea comments on Feb 23, 2018:
I have never severed relationships, but I've had relatives and what I thought were good friends that severed them because I'm a atheist. No worries though; their loss not mine.
Just found the group. Currently studying Shibari to add to the toy box.
kiramea comments on Feb 23, 2018:
Shibari is fascinating. I watched someone do it at a Black Rose Halloween several years ago. (Wow, didn't realize that was 17yrs ago)
Churchgoers can't seem to understand this, but I'd like some input as to how to make this clearer to...
kiramea comments on Feb 23, 2018:
Maybe not for a heavenly reward, but I've known atheist/agnostics to do it for publicity. To me that's just as bad.
What's something you've never done?
kiramea comments on Feb 23, 2018:
skydive ran for president (or anything for that matter)
Hi, there! Don't know if this is BDSM only but, I'm ABDL if that's okay with everyone.
kiramea comments on Feb 23, 2018:
Not my kink, but welcome.
Atheism
kiramea comments on Feb 22, 2018:
My father was a very religious Catholic. My mother was Baptist. When they married my mother had to convert and promise to raise all children as Catholic. We went to mass religiously every Sunday until they played "Let it Be" in mass. My father was pissed. We stopped going to mass for two reasons..... they stopped saying mass in Latin, and singing "Let it Be". Apparently my father wasn't as devout as I thought he was.
How do you tell someone, with diplomacy that you don’t want to have a prayer with you?
kiramea comments on Feb 22, 2018:
Diplomacy be damned. If it was me I would tell them to get away (and not be nice about it).
While in a relationship with someone you do not live with, but lives say within 50 miles how often ...
kiramea comments on Feb 22, 2018:
Each person is different. You would have to ask your partner that question. For me, I would like to at least hear from them about once a week, and see them a little every other weekend or so. But then again, I'm not high maintenance.
Could folks please share some of their cooking hacks?
kiramea comments on Feb 21, 2018:
I cook mine in the over by lining the sheet pan in either parchment or foil. Then I place the pan in an over and then turn it on to 375-400. Bake for around 20 minutes, take it out and enjoy. Never have a problem with uncooked ends.
What was a fact taught to you in school that has been disproven in your lifetime?
kiramea comments on Feb 20, 2018:
I remember being taught that plate tectonics was a controversial theory. I also remember asking my father if there was anything smaller than protons/neutrons/electrons (he was a university Chemistry Professor). He answered no, and when I pressed he emphatically said no. PMS was "all in a woman's head", as was fibromyalgia. This all isn't exactly what I learned in school, but I do remember this.
Been there!
kiramea comments on Feb 19, 2018:
I keep eating. It's their prayer not mine.
Men... bald is not a bad thing?
kiramea comments on Feb 19, 2018:
My first husband was naturally bald. You can't imagine all the people who asked me how I could marry someone without hair. Personally, I prefer men either with a shaved head or long hair. For some reason I just don't care for the in between look.
Is it normal or strange someone wouldn’t like French kissing?
kiramea comments on Feb 19, 2018:
If done right, it's okay. Most of the men I've been with though have no clue what they are doing.
Can we have a scar thread?
kiramea comments on Feb 19, 2018:
Three major scars: bikini scar from an appendectomy at 17 (my appendix was behind my cervix instead of on the right side of my abdomen). open heart surgery scar from my quadruple bypass. I love whipping that one out because it freaks out my sister and niece. vein harvesting scar for bypass from right above my left knee to right above my left ankle. That one also freaks out my sister and niece.
Would you deny someone a date if they were wearing something you didn't like?
kiramea comments on Feb 19, 2018:
If it's a Trump shirt, you betcha. Other than that, I'd have to see the shirt. I once dated a man that had a "Wanted slave. Experience preferred, references required" t-shirt (he was into BDSM). Funny thing, I was dumb enough to marry the idiot. I am hoping I'm more selective in my old age.
Do women enjoy sex as much as men? Does it depend on who they're having sex with?
kiramea comments on Feb 19, 2018:
Too many men seem to believe that all they have to do is poke it in and out and we'll be their's forever. I want foreplay. I want foreplay to continue when the actual sex act begins. I want to feel loved, cherished, wanted; and not for just a hole to put it in. I want my partner to listen to me on what I want and not believe they know better than I do (I've actually had men tell me that they know what I want better than I do). In otherwords, I want the same attention given to me that I give to them.
How do you handle talking to a parent when they are politically opposite of you?
kiramea comments on Feb 18, 2018:
I didn't. Politics and religion were a non topic with my conservative Catholic father.
OK. I'll say it: Michelle's portrait is horrible and does not resemble her in the least. :|
kiramea comments on Feb 18, 2018:
Apparently I don't know art. I think both portraits are horrible, but at least Obama's looks like him. I see Michelle's and think paint-by-number.
How long did it take you to get over your divorce?
kiramea comments on Feb 17, 2018:
Each divorce is different. I've been married three times. Divorce from husband #1 was easy, as was the divorce from #2. It's been over 10yrs, and I'm still not over #3 (worse mistake of my life which is why it still hurts).
Does anyone pay any attention to the match percentage?
kiramea comments on Feb 17, 2018:
I have seen on other sites a high percentage, and when I looked at their profile they're a "Christian and serious about it". So, no, I don't pay attention to the compatibility percentage.
I'm starting to suspect that while I can see my profile photo on my profile, others can't?
kiramea comments on Feb 17, 2018:
I see it just fine
Names can be tricky things.
kiramea comments on Feb 17, 2018:
I once worked with a woman named Roger (her father wanted a boy). I also knew a girl named George and a man name Sherrill (pronounced Cheryl). Working in Respiratory therapy I gave a breathing treatment to a man named Joyce. I do my best not to stereotype any name, however occasionally I still do.
How many republican atheists/agnostics are members of this website?
kiramea comments on Feb 17, 2018:
If I was a Republican I certainly wouldn't admit it on this site. There's too many people who equate Republican/conservatism with Trump. Though usually they go hand-in-hand, there are numerous people who are Republican and abhor Trump.
Is anyone on here also on fetlife? Just curious
kiramea comments on Feb 17, 2018:
I preferred Bondage.com and was a member there for years. Then the owners sold it to Hustler and the site went downhill quickly. In fact, from my understanding, Fetlife came into being because of members being fed up with Bondage.com. I think it finally folded a couple of years ago. I was also a member of Collarme.com. Interesting dating site. It also folded because the owners went their separate ways.
The kids paradox
kiramea comments on Feb 17, 2018:
I had my first kid at the age of 20 and my last at the age of 32. Looking back I probably should not have had any. Because of my mental illness I had a very difficult time raising them. Even though I love all dearly I have a hard time showing it even now.
Why are you not religious?
kiramea comments on Feb 17, 2018:
When I finally realized that it made no sense to damn a person for being gay (or and addict, etc) but allow a serial sinner a pass to heaven as long as they were saved.
If the Object of Your Affection became allergic to your pet, what would you do?
kiramea comments on Feb 16, 2018:
Not exactly the same thing, but if my dog doesn't like someone I'm dating I would dump that person. But then again I trust my dog more than I trust humans.
My mum is coming to stay for a couple of days which is great, I miss her very much.
kiramea comments on Feb 16, 2018:

Father/Son Ritual (for women & men to answer) I have observed a male-centered "ritual" (for want ...
kiramea comments on Feb 16, 2018:
My last boyfriend did that to my youngest son. I told him never do it again and he explained that he needed to toughen up or he would grow up to be a wuss. I replied that if he did it again I would file assault charges on him. He stopped after that but not after telling me that was how he was raised and he turned out fine. Funny thing, he's the one in prison at the moment.
A friend I knew back in my high school days recently told me not to long ago that he found Jesus.

School Shootings: What are the answers?
kiramea comments on Feb 14, 2018:
Instead of making more laws, they need to enforce the laws already on the books.
What bad/good things stand out to you on a dating profile?
kiramea comments on Feb 14, 2018:
Not having a picture isn't that much of a problem with me since I rarely have one of myself. Not having a profile is a completely different story. If you can't be bothered to fill out a profile them I'm not going to be bothered to respond to your obvious canned messages. I also do not have a webcam, will not send you nude pics, and will not cyber/phone sex with you.
Have you ever declined a date with someone because of their name?
kiramea comments on Feb 14, 2018:
For the longest time I refused to date anyone with the name of Mike/Michael. I had a boyfriend with that name in high school that was as my dad said "had Manson eyes". A year after we broke up (he tried to get into my car to assault me) he called me. He told me in explicit detail how he beat up his girlfriend, got arrested and put on 8 months probation. Then he asked me out. I politely declined.
Anyone into genealogy?
kiramea comments on Feb 14, 2018:
My sister supposedly has ours traced back to the time of Cleopatra (I'm not really convinced though). I have had mine tested just out of curiosity. Apparently I'm mostly Scandinavian and have Neanderthal markers.

kiramea comments on Feb 14, 2018:
My water heater went out and I tried to get a grant with that company to help with the unexpected expense. Apparently they only help the working poor and completely ignore the disabled population. I have been denied twice even-though I had stated that I will love my only mode of transportation and have my electricity cut off. They may help some people, but they don't help everyone that needs a helping hand.
Is anyone on here also on fetlife? Just curious
kiramea comments on Feb 14, 2018:
I signed up for it when it was first formed. Never really liked the way it's set up. My daughter uses it though. When my ex-boyfriend was arrested for having over 500 images of child porn on his computer, he was defended by everyone there; I stopped using it. They claim (even though they didn't know him) that he was set up by a vindictive ex-girlfriend. His other girlfriend at the time was ostracized from all BDSM groups in the area because they all took his side and not hers. I just can't patronize a company that defends that kind of behavior.
Do you find it attractive dating someone who smokes cigarettes?
kiramea comments on Feb 13, 2018:
My neurologist has told me that the issues in my brain (white matter disease, evidence of stroke, and a small non-cancerous tumor) were probably caused by smoking/second hand smoke. Whether is is or not I'm not going to debate; it's there and I don't want it getting worse. I have also had a heart attack, and nicotine constricts your blood vessels. I personally believe it's in my best interests to stay away from cigarette smoke. Because of my various health issues I would not date a person who smokes.
I wonder what those who discount the Theory of Evolution might have to say about this new and ...
kiramea comments on Feb 13, 2018:
But they don't look like tribbles........
You are attracted... but then?
kiramea comments on Feb 13, 2018:
I'm attracted to a lot of people that I would not contemplate having sex with. The sex of the person isn't the problem though, it's the age. I have a HUGE issue with having sex with someone that is younger than my oldest son.
Rules Are for Schmucks: The Latest Christian Salvos: William Lane Craig - TheHumanist.com
kiramea comments on Feb 12, 2018:
I was much less happier when I was a Christian than now. It's depressing knowing that you will never be good enough for those pious bigots who populate the churches. It pisses the hell out of me seeing these "Godly" people explain away their sins, and then in the same breath demonize us who are poor, wrong color, wrong religion, etc.
Sexual compatibility is pertinent in any healthy relationship.
kiramea comments on Feb 12, 2018:
There are plenty of people that are asexual from the beginning. Sex may be important to you, but it isn't to everyone.

MeToo What do you consider sexual harassment?
kiramea comments on Feb 12, 2018:
I don't like to be touched by people I don't know. If someone tried to hug me I would ask them not to; if they brushed it off and did it anyway I would consider it a violation of my space. Would I file harassment charges..... probably not unless they continue. I personally feel each persons' threshold is different (to an extent). I do believe that no one has the right to grab a person's privates, nor do they have the right to kiss them without permission. If someone says no, IT MEANS NO. There is no compromise, no discussing, IT MEANS NO. I also feel that dirty talking should be consensual. I can't tell you how many men (and some women) feel it's okay to tell me in explicit detail what they want to do with me. If I tell you I don't want to hear it, that means to stop talking about it. The #MeToo movement isn't a good or bad thing; it's a necessary thing. Sexual harassment has gone on for so long that some people see it as normal, which it isn't. We needed to show that we're not putting up with the status quo anymore and that our feelings matter.
'Sticks and stones may break my bones but words may never hurt me!' I remember that old saying.
kiramea comments on Feb 12, 2018:
I think that I grew up with my parents and siblings calling me stupid, worthless, ugly, etc. That affected my self-esteem which affected my forming relationships. In otherwords, words DO hurt you. As a result of my horrifically mentally abusive upbringing I refused to allow any name calling in my house. I was not about to raise my children like I was raised. It did cause some problem with boyfriends "playing around", but my children come first.

Living alone
kiramea comments on Feb 10, 2018:
My youngest son lives with me, but he usually stays upstairs. It's really nice to be able to watch anything I want, sleep as late (or early) as I want, and eat what I want. I wouldn't mind an occasional companion, however I want to keep control of my life. Unfortunately I seem to be attracted to dominant men who are more narcissistic than I care for.
I live on a Jehovah witness training run so they call about once a month.
kiramea comments on Feb 10, 2018:
I just tell them I'm not interested and close the door. My then husband used to take the pamphlets until I explained that in doing so I'm left with having to talk to them when they come back (and they always do to discuss them).

Am I still single because my face is that hideous?
kiramea comments on Feb 9, 2018:
I weigh 300lbs, and even when I'm thin I'm still not what society would view as pretty. Yes, it bothers me at times, but I'm old enough to know that the people who are worth having a relationship with looks beyond looks. The last two men I've been with specifically look for broken women. I NEVER want that again. I would rather be single for the rest of my life than to put up with the emotional abuse I had with those two men.
Would you consider having sex with a bearded man?
kiramea comments on Feb 9, 2018:
I prefer men with facial hair.
What makes people read.
kiramea comments on Feb 9, 2018:
My youngest son hated reading, and would fight back on everything I tried. He received a video game that he was having problems with and I bought him a book to help him with it. That was the thing that helped him read. Everyone has their own interests; you just have to find the one that jives with them.
Do you think abortions should be illegal?
kiramea comments on Feb 9, 2018:
Anyone who believes that giving one up for adoption is easier is beyond delusional. I've given two up for adoption (found out the hard way that the pill does not work for me) because I don't believe in abortion. Was the hardest thing I've ever done.

If someone is dying and a bystander chooses not to help, should they be held responsible?
kiramea comments on Feb 8, 2018:
And what if you tried to help and what you did (because you don't have any medical training) killed them? Should you be held responsible since you didn't mean to kill them? In your scenario I would not. I can swim, but not very well. I would at least call 911. I certainly wouldn't be one of those idiots taking pictures/video to put on facebook.
Last part to my heart story.
kiramea comments on Feb 8, 2018:
When Bill Paxton died it was reported that he died during bypass surgery (it was later reported he died from complications after a heart valve and aorta surgery). I was at my cardiologist for my regular follow-up appointment and we talked about his death. I mentioned that I was aware that I could have died during my bypass but was okay with the less than one percent mortality rate. He replied the mortality rate was great unless you were one of those less than one percent that died. He had a point.
Nudists?
kiramea comments on Feb 8, 2018:
I'm very overweight so I'm uncomfortable being naked in front of strangers. However, if my son isn't here I usually naked around the house (he's uncomfortable seeing his mother naked which I can understand).
I have said this to my kids - When I get older, I am NOT going into a nursing home.
kiramea comments on Feb 8, 2018:
I have told all my children that if I'm debilitated enough to not know I'm even alive to either put me out of my misery or put me in a nursing home (I wouldn't know anything anyway). Personally, I really hope assisted suicide if legal by then. I have a small tumor in my brain and other chronic diseases so I felt I had to have this conversation. When there is no quality of life left, I feel something should be done. I do NOT want to be that person in a fetal position shitting and pissing on myself and being fed by a feeding tube. I saw too many of those when I worked in a nursing home.
Can coincidence be explained scientifically?
kiramea comments on Feb 8, 2018:
My oldest became friends with a boy in his school when we lived in Huntsville, Tx. We then moved to Colorado Springs, CO and lo and behold the boy was at his school. A couple of years later we moved to New Caney, Tx and guess what? Yep, the boy had moved there. My youngest son would come to me all the time and tell me that his father was coming over. Always, within 24hrs he would make an appearance. One time he lived 900 miles away when my son told me and neither one of us knew he was coming over. Still haven't figured that one out.

Was anyone else raised by strict, right-wing conservative, christian parents?
kiramea comments on Feb 7, 2018:
Up until a few years before his death my father was a devout Catholic and very conservative. When he died, my sister was given his journals, and we found out that he hated hippies (thought they should be shot on sight because they were hurting our country with their liberalism), and believed everyone but conservatives were against our county. When they started going too far right my father did change his mind (he voted for Obama twice and probably would have had a heart attack when Trump because president if he wasn't already dead).

I personally believe you should shout it from the highest rooftop. Me: That's probably why she's now your ex-girlfriend. Funny, he stopped talking to me after that.
Who likes/hates wrestling (wwe)
kiramea comments on Feb 6, 2018:
I took my oldest son to the Broadmoor in Colorado Springs for a professional wrestling match back in 1988 for his birthday (got him ringside seats). All these big men doing their thing, and I'm laughing at all of them while my 8yr old son is cussing them like a drunken sailor (I did admonish him, but he came back with "Mom, it's wrestling. Get over it"). I bet my son still remembers that birthday and he will be 39 this month.

Now I get to get an electrician over since apparently the electrical wire I have to it is too small. It keeps tripping the breaker. Joy, joy..... more money that I don't have.

He was secretly recorded taking the money out of the envelopes and throwing away the prayer requests without even looking at them. What did he tell his flock? He told them that God already knew their prayers and that he didn't need to read them. And those idiots believed his nonsense hook line and sinker. People can be such idiots.

kiramea comments on Feb 5, 2018:
My daughter is living with a transgender woman. When my father's house sold, I gave all of my children including Aly (my daughter's girlfriend) money. All my children were surprised and elated including Aly. Aly then told me that she wished her parents were as accepting as I am. It really broke my heart to know that parents disown their own children just because they aren't who they want them to be.
Are you afraid of heights?
kiramea comments on Feb 5, 2018:
I'm not afraid of heights; I'm afraid of falling. I've been up Pikes Peak (lived in Colorado Springs for a year and a half). Personally, the alternative route down from Cave of the Winds is scarier. At least 25yrs ago you could look down and see the cars that didn't make it.

What are your thoughts about women changing their last name after marriage?
kiramea comments on Feb 4, 2018:
I personally see that as something private between the man and wife. For me, I changed my name the first time I married. It was such a pain in the ass to change it back that I never changed it again. My oldest son has my last name (I wasn't married when I had him). My daughter and youngest son has their father's name. Eventually my youngest son will get his name changed because he doesn't want the name of an abusive man, but now that his father is dead it's not as big an issue.

Depends of what you mean by dating. If you're just casually dating with no SO, then I don't see any problem. If you're serious about someone, if you don't tell them you're seeing others that cheating.
A Catholic blogger says Christians shouldn’t do yoga.
kiramea comments on Feb 3, 2018:
This really isn't something new. I've been around Christians 20yrs ago that believed this.
Name your hypocrisy
kiramea comments on Feb 3, 2018:
I don't believe in a God because there isn't any scientific proof, however I believe in aliens and the supernatural.
Gays, Lesbians and Transgenders
kiramea comments on Feb 3, 2018:
Because they see them as their "God" making a mistake. Think about it.... gays and lesbians can't have children, and we all know that our goal in like is procreation. Transgenders mean God doesn't know what he (or she) is doing since they made said person in the wrong gender. I would hate to see that they think of hermaphrodites.
Does everyone know their nationality, or are some of you unsure?
kiramea comments on Feb 2, 2018:
I grew up believing I was part Irish, part German and part Cajun. After having my DNA tested, I find out the majority of my DNA is Scandinavian. Still trying to figure that out considering my sister shows the majority of her's being French. They were so different that I had a sibling test done and we are full sisters.
Do you let your emotions get in the way of rational thinking?
kiramea comments on Feb 2, 2018:
I've had to teach myself to think first and react later. If I allowed my knee-jerk reactions to rule me I would probably be in jail by now.
Would you be afraid to spend a few nights in the Amityville horror house?
kiramea comments on Feb 2, 2018:
I lived in a haunted house when I was a child. Now, the house I lived in was haunted by a 6yr old, but I doubt that house would bother me.
When your significant other goes to strip clubs regularly because of "friends" is that a red flag?
kiramea comments on Feb 2, 2018:
My former step-daughter worked as an EMS in Wichita, KS. Occasionally she would work the ER. One night a stripper came in complaining of pelvic pain. They put her in one of the rooms and had her undress. When they went into the room they just about threw up because of the smell. Come to find out she had (if I remember correctly) four different STD's. So, if I were you, I would be tested just to make sure he hasn't brought anything home. Yes, I know he says he's just looking (I would be asking if his "friends" are the strippers), but better safe than sorry.
I came across this recently and found the hypothesis quite interesting.

I used to be anti-vax, but not so much now. My youngest has Aspergers, and that idiot physician who published stating that vaccines were the cause had me frantic, believing that I caused my son's disability. It was only after he was discredited that I re-evaluated my beliefs. I still believe that infants are getting way too many vaccines compared to their age and immune system abilities. Also, from reading research about the HPV vaccine, my daughter and I decided not to have her get it.
What’s the worst Wal-Mart service you’ve ever had?
kiramea comments on Feb 2, 2018:
I have worked at Walmart, so my worse experience has not been buying something. The worse customers I've had have actually been people who work there.
What is your definition of God?
kiramea comments on Feb 2, 2018:
A construct of a person's deluded mind. Either that or someone's imaginary friend.
What unusual sports do you follow/participate in?
kiramea comments on Feb 2, 2018:
Not weird, but I love watching the X-Games. Seeing people do tricks that I will never do is fascinating.
Do appointments by doctors and service people that are always late upset you as much as they do me.
kiramea comments on Feb 2, 2018:
My youngest son is changing doctors because of the last time he was there. They were so late in seeing him, he needed to get the security guard to let him out of the building. From start to finish, he was there over four hours. One of the time I went to see my neurologist, they had me wait two hours. Immediately after I asked them what the problem was, they called me. I'm pretty sure if I hadn't asked I would have been there a lot longer. I am well aware things happen. All I ask is that I am made aware of them so I can decide whether I need to reschedule.
Female body hair. Have you examined your prejudices?
kiramea comments on Feb 1, 2018:
After having two partners get arrested for child crimes (ex husband for sexual assault on a minor and an ex boyfriend for child porn) who demanded it, I refuse to shave my pubic hair. Other than that, if I'm dating I'm shaved (my preference). If I'm not dating I see no reason to go through the trouble.
