I was treasurer for the halton peel humanists for 7 years but with only 50 members out of 1 million potential [ suburb of toronto] I give up. Atheists' new religion is money. very little consensus to be found otherwise

I'm lucky enough to have a small creek nearby which i use for my morning dog walk. Always gives me joy watching nature do its thing. I pick up the garbage and keep the whole walk as close to pristine as I can. Great start to the day.

ones body is a beautiful thing if you feel beautiful even more so. To legislate this is typical of our prudish heritage. in ontario bare breasts are legal but no one bares them so probably one could do the same and legalise the lot. Small minded men could be a problem at first but after a generation who knows. not gonna happen either way.

demographics don't usually lie. christian birth rates are low and the young are going secular. I don't care though as I'll be dead . I feel sorry for any baby boy who is mutilated in the name of doctrine. and for the girls in many cultures that are treated differently than their male siblings. with any luck one has enough info to sort out the rats from the chipmunks. One can evaluate a person with a fair degree of accuracy quite quickly. One can shy from risks and feel from the other person's point of view. One can also become more intolerant generally. One cares less about one's image but more about reputation.

most of us believe in some sort of social construct or other. the majority believe in money and corporations which are a figment of our imaginations like buddhism. The churches don't have to report where the collections go to, hence fund some very dodgy ventures. If they would just look after the poor and weak I'd be all for them . They often don't so I too have had enough. Read " Sapiens", it puts it all in context.

we are a messed up bunch of ants on a rock and have left money as the last belief to hold on to. I vote as a protest every time except last election where I voted Liberal to get the pot laws changed
