Report: Forensic accounting specialists hired to assist N.Y. prosecutor in Trump probe
mcgeo52 comments on Jan 2, 2021:
There's something about a paper trail that courts just seem to love. In a recent video Glenn Kirschner pointed out that if a prosecutor spends the money to hire forensic accountants (especially top notch international forensic accountants) it's a sign that they are moving toward, not away from, prosecution. Trump is toast.

Smartmatic machines and Dominion machines produce paper ballots that can be hand counted in case of any question. But the Trump humpers are still refusing to admit that the machines did not alter the results. They are stupid enough to insist that ballots were run through the machine multiple times, as if a hand recount would not catch that. The stupid! It hurts!
Hope this works. Pence the kingmaker?
mcgeo52 comments on Dec 29, 2020:
The idiots backing this nonsense don't have a clue what the law is. All Pence is allowed to do is announce the results, or recognize objections. If a member of the House and a member of the Senate sign a written objection to any state's electors, Pence has to recognize the objection and send the Senate back to their chambers for two hours. The House remains in their chambers for the two hours. At the end of the two hours Pence asks whether the House voted to accept the first slate of Electors, or the alternate slate, and he announces the Senate's vote on the question. Unless both houses vote for the alternate slate, the votes of the original slate, certified by the Governor, are counted. Since Governors have certified 306 votes for Biden the only thing the idiots will do is waste everyone's time. There is no way this changes the outcome.

Diversity is good, but from a policy standpoint it looks like four more years of the same centrist, corporate Democratic BS that brought us Donald Trump. Biden and the DNC don't get it. The wealth disparity in this country is setting the stage for a fascist takeover, just like Germany in the 1930s. We barely dodged the bullet this time. In four years we will probably be up against someone smarter than Trump who really can pull it off. The only way to prevent that is to do what FDR did and take care of the lower and (what's left of the) middle classes.

mcgeo52 comments on Dec 19, 2020:
The Democrats completely botched the impeachment. They should have included a bribery charge. The letter released by the White House summarizing Trump's "perfect conversation" was incontrovertible evidence of bribery as found in the US Codes. There was nowhere for the Republicans to hide on it. Nor could they argue that it was not an impeachable offense since the Constitution clearly lists it as such. Between that and the way Pelosi gave away the store on the original stimulus bill, color me extremely unimpressed with her "leadership."
