mcgeo52 comments on Nov 17, 2020:
I would go for this on the condition that the states follow through with prosecution. The pardon should be overly broad, to preclude any federal prosecution, but also mention specific crimes including tax fraud, money laundering, and kidnapping. By accepting the pardon Trump will admit guilt, and that admission can be used against him in state courts (e.g., tax fraud and money laundering in NY, and kidnapping in in California or any other state where immigrant children were taken from their parents with no intent of reuniting them). If Trump were smart (in other words, no worry it will happen), he would cut a deal to plead guilty to a federal crime and spend a year in Club Fed in exchange for no state prosecution.
Getting kicked out of Presidents' Club.

With all due respect, a populist candidate could have beaten Trump this time as well as four years ago. Corporatist Democrats are not what the party needs to win elections. Every Democratic member of Congress who ran on Medicare for All or single payer health care won re-election. The DNC gave us Trump and, without COVID, would have given him to us for another four years. If Biden governs as the corporatist he is, we can expect Trump or worse (e.g., Tom Cotton with policies as bad as Trump, but with the brains and experience in government to get things done) in four years.

mcgeo52 comments on Nov 14, 2020:
Court fees are paid up front by the Plaintiff (i.e., Trump's attorney's). The current fee is $400. Given that Trump is using the least expensive lawyers available, and having them file cases that are immediately laughed out of court (thereby avoiding further attorneys' fees), I doubt Trump is spending more than $3,000 per case. But he keeps up the charade so he can keep fleecing his followers who contribute to his legal fund. BTW, unlike campaign contributions, which have serious restrictions on how they can be used, any left over money in the legal fund can (and probably will) go straight in to Don the Con's pocket.
Pretty sure this is the checklist they're using.

Biden has three choices that I see: 1.) Let McConnell roll over him like Obama did. This will probably end up with the Democrats losing control of the House in two years, and losing more seats in the Senate. 2.) Call McConnell out when he refuses to hold hearings and votes on Biden's cabinet nominees. Explain to McConnell either privately or (my preference) very publicly, that such obstruction is absolutely grounds for declaring McConnell an enemy combatant with all of the rights and privileges appertaining thereto (i.e., retirement complete with room and board at Guantanamo). This would come with the clarification that it was Biden's responsibility as "the Executive" (Article II Section 1) to see that the government functions. He would not be telling anyone how to vote, merely that their job was to hold hearings and vote. He is only doing his job to make sure they do theirs. 3.) Have a private conversation with McConnell explaining that if he doesn't play nice the Republicans in the Senate will be investigated for briberu in relation to their votes on the Trump impeachment.
Biden's Lead Grows With Many Blue State Votes Yet to be Counted! [dailykos.com]
mcgeo52 comments on Nov 11, 2020:
As of 2 pm Wednesday the lead is 5.98 million and counting. There are approximately 750,000 votes still uncounted in California. Those have been breaking roughly 2:1 in favor of Biden. Looks like Biden will win by 6.5 million +/-.
I hope Biden has opened his eyes now, he wants to be civil with republitards?
mcgeo52 comments on Nov 11, 2020:
He should give McConnell two choices, either play nice and work together, or every Republican in the Senate will be investigated for bribery in relation to their vote on Trump’s impeachment. That would give the Dems an easy 67 seats and make the Republicans completely irrelevant. On second thought, maybe Biden shouldn’t even offer the deal.

If you are not in Georgia you can volunteer to write postcards or letters and/or make phone calls. P.S. mcgeo52 comments on Nov 8, 2020:
The real reason trump is claiming fraud is so he can bilk his followers out of more money. He is trying to raise millions, and may well succeed. Those donations are going to a legal fund, not his campaign fund. There are serious restrictions as to what can be done with campaign contributions, but not with legal funds. Trump can pocket whatever is left over. Notice that he is using the least expensive lawyers, and that they are filing cases that are almost guaranteed to be laughed out of court. In short, he is spending the least money possible to keep up the facade of fighting the results so he can raise more money that he can pocket. Of course his sheep are happy to be sheared.

After Fox loses the law suit, and possibly as part of the judgment, they need to have their licenses reviewed and probably pulled. As of 6:30 pm PST the undecided states are (with EC votes): 3 Alaska 16 Georgia 6 Nevada 15 North Carolina 20 Pennsylvania Arizona, Maine, Michigan, and Wisconsin have been called for Biden. Ironically, the only state that Trump can afford to lose is the one he will certainly win, Alaska. Biden has 264 EC votes, so any of the states other than Alaska will put him at 270 or more. It looks like Nevada will go for Biden and that will be 270. According to the NYT, based on the trend in mail in ballots and the number of mail in ballots to be counted, Biden could win Pennsylvania by 100,000 votes. That would be 290. Either Georgia or North Carolina could put him overt 300, and he could possibly get to 321. In any case, I expect Biden will get at least 285 EC votes. Combine that with the fact that Biden leads in the popular vote by over three and a half million, and the results are pretty clear.
