If you don't know...I volunteer as a ''patient advocate'' at Planned Parenthood. This means that I'll join a patient in the procedure room....hold her hand....help her breathe...answer questions, etc. I will NEVER forget a patient we had who didn't speak English (nor did she understand my basic but fairly clear Spanish). She barely had breasts and was obviously just through puberty. Obviously, too, someone had raped her. All I could do was put my arms around her, whisper that things would be ''ok'' and that she was ''safe now.'' The good news is--we were able to help her! The bad news is--thousands of patients just like her can't get to us! That penultimate paragraph just above is totally sadistic bullshit!

When the Chinese took over....her life changed so dramatically that you'd never recognize her emails or her FB posts! Now...it's all about acceptance, optimism and avoidance of politics.
