@diabhal That's what the NRA & their fervent supporters don't understand. Many in the States own guns & understand we have a huge problem & know we need to address it. They also won't understand that almost no one is trying to ban all guns, it won't happen here & it's not expected, but reasonable controls are imperative. We can't keep going on like this! The kids get it, it's time the rest of us did, too!

I've seen her in various settings & she's very informed & balanced. I just hate when "atheists" seem to want to knock Dawkins to assure their audience that they're "nice" atheists. I've seen so many videos of Dawkins being patient, polite & soft-spoken, much more than I would be under similar provocation! His "God: the Most Unpleasant Character In All Fiction" paragraph in "The God Delusion" haunts him much more than anything he's actually said to a person he was speaking with! Hate to say it but some atheists are as prudish as evangelicals & as PC as college freshmen!

Either way, I'm screwed!

@atheist How could you not? Children can be happy too an extreme & never have experienced any grief, let alone much disappointment. As an adult we appreciate the depths of emotions more & the nuances between them, & learn from the variety, but happiness can exist independently!
