Matt is a thought provoking voice in the atheist community and an excellent debater. He has contributed so much of his time to the secular, skeptic, and atheist community such as being the president of the Atheist Community of Austin and hosting The Atheist Experience. Of course he is wrong at times...

Got tired of all the " thoughts & prayers " just started telling everyone, if it came close to a topic I could fit it in. Really weeded out the people who liked me for me, not because they assumed I thought like they did.

Check out Anthony Jeselnik's Thoughts & Prayers" on Netflix! Not for the faint-hearted!!

Although sometimes dogs just sit by the door and lick themselves.
phxbillcee replies on Dec 30, 2017:
Of course, the question is,"Why do dogs do that?" The answer, again, of course, is, "Because they can!"
Isn’t it strange how life seems backwards?
HeathenFarmer comments on Dec 26, 2017:
In my life when I have received recognition it has never been because I was seeking it; it is because I worked passionately for or towards something I believed in without the goal of reward. I recommend to anyone stop wasting time on seeking things from living your life and instead live every ...
phxbillcee replies on Dec 30, 2017:
HF: Tho you did not actively seek recognition, working passionately towards that goal increased the odds that you would achieve recognition. I agree that the goal should be living the best life one can, but often talent, drive, or, for lack of a better word, "genius" brings recognition, entirely sought for or not.

I could never have read the bible cover to cover. A few pages and I was bored stupid.
phxbillcee replies on Dec 29, 2017:
Took prison time (over 30 yrs ago) to get me to read the whole thing. Since then it has been certain passages as a reference or a rebuttal source. I recently tried reading the "Book of Mormon". What didn't bore me to tears made me laugh until I cried!!!
Is there a symbol I can wear for spiritualist which equates to the christian cross?
phxbillcee comments on Dec 26, 2017:
Casper the Friendly Ghost? Sorry, don't mean to be snarky, but as an atheist I'm not a big fan of the "supernatural" at all. & "spiritual" seems not only wishy-washy, but kind of a cop-out, as well. Do we all have more than just a material basis? Probably. But the term "spiritual" carries about as ...

I have an "Atheist Atom" tat on my right forearm. It's my "freak-flag" & also meant as a conversation starter. I do like the yin/yang symbol, but don't want the "semi-religious" baggage that can be associated with it, & surely don't want the potential "New Age" label!!!
Looking for atheist "comrades" in West Phoenix, AZ area.

Not looking to "buy" something. Looking for "sympatico" people for communication, friendship & possibly more. Why be so snarky???
What would you do differently if you knew nobody would judge you?
MsOliver comments on Dec 24, 2017:
I would teach more controversial literature: 1984 instead of Animal Farm, Othello instead of Hamlet, Medea and Oedipus Rex instead of Antigone, Brave New World and Leaves of Grass, because fuck you and your sex denying theism! I'd also be even more vocal in the classroom about accepting one ...
phxbillcee replies on Dec 24, 2017:
I understand & sympathize, even if I don't totally agree w/ your "picks". Othello is good, but I love the soliloquies in Hamlet. I love both 1984 & Animal Farm. Best bet is to teach what you can & do a "recommended reading" list, I guess.
