@Willow_Wisp We know the president obtained his election by illegal and unconstitutional means: colluding with Putin's GRU. These secret, covert troops are being marshalled entirely outside of their mandate, and in violation of their Constitutional oaths. Their illegal behavior is TREASON and denotes them as TRAITORS in service to the foreign agent Trump; they are essentially spies, saboteurs and worse. As such, anyone brave enough to consider themselves to be a member of the American Resistance has a DUTY to interfere and to degrade their operation by ANY means necessary. That duty IS Constitutional! Come November, that body armor won't be enough for them, or their enablers, and that includes the local police. I'm pretty sure I have a lot of company on this view. @Birdman1 Quite a few descendants of the Holocaust have become "Self-Hating Jews". Now they can express that hatred in a myriad of ways, but pretty often, being anti-Semitic is part of it. I've run across it in a bunch of college professors, i.e. ultra-liberal profs in Women's Studies. Some of them have fanatical support for the Palestinians. I guess that the Holocaust functioned as a repudiation of the religion they'd been brainwashed with as kids. They like the identification as being Jewish, but not the horror of having ones relatives murdered for the sake of politicized Christian bigotry. The added insult is the storyline wherein Jews deem themselves to be a superior genetic group, but were murdered with the claim that they were somehow inferior. Another toxic meme is how, In the U. S., the girls were raised as Disney Princesses, and told that they should hold out for doctors or lawyers (princes). Lots of fertile ground to create trauma. Based on the accounts, Miller has a strong case of OCD, and thus has a psychotic need to impose some sort of order, and probably has guilt for subscribing to the same absolutist attitudes the Nazis embraced. Note that in terms of politics, only a minority of American Jews, usually Reform, have liberal politics. However they are more vocal than the rest. The Orthodox and Conservative are usually Republican. That is my understanding.

It grew up into a dying apricot tree, and when the tree finally died, the vine had a ready made trellis. Two years ago, the trunk finally toppled, so I designed a tensile structure prototype for the vine to grow up into again. I'm training the tendrils now, but have put a sail over the structure for shade. You can see the Ayahuasca in the center left of the attached picture.

The caterpillars damage the plant and leave their poop behind. As these plants are intended for consumption, the presence of caterpillars is minimized. It seems the moths and butterflies can 'smell' the presence of the bacteria, and fly to more promising food sources. The bacteria are harmless to humans.

The latest data is that this is like the "cold." Same family of virus. Immunity might last less than 90 days perhaps much less. Antibodies last just a few weeks. The vaccination must account for this. We may need it much more often than the "flu" vaccine.
racocn8 replies on Jul 14, 2020:
@AnneWimsey It has been a little while since I saw the article, and firstly, I may have misrepresented because this only works on rhinoviruses (40% of colds). Apparently, they do all share a common feature which is a cleft in a critical protein. The cure is a drug which is not toxic, etc. and binds irreversibly into this cleft such that, while bound, changes the three-dimensional conformation. This change stops the protein from functioning, and the virus is no longer infectious. I gather that UCI is pursuing a similar strategy on Covid's protease. I expect this is being sought for the spike protein too. It is no small feat to find a molecule with all the electromagnetic features in the right 3D shape, and, not be toxic in some way. Obviously, this is a task for supercomputers, but still not at all simple or even straightforward. You don't want to know how the immune system develops binding for unknown antigens. Unbelievable. Evolution to the rescue... again!!! (Hint: variable and hypervariable DNA regions).

racocn8 replies on Jul 13, 2020:
Actually, the cold is either a rhino virus 40% or Coronavirus 20%. An anti-viral agent is being developed that should be effective for ALL the rhinoviruses! A similar technique should be possible for the coronaviruses; just not that quickly, unfortunately. I've been led to understand that a vaccine for covid would confer longer lasting immunity. The problem is this thing mutates frequently, so it is unclear if the vaccine will be effective for newer strains.

racocn8 replies on Jul 13, 2020:
@HippieChick58 @AnneWimsey However, the 3 million cases number is believed to be undercounting the true number by ten times. That makes the mortality rate more like 0.4%. The undercounting rate is an unsubstantiated estimate, so mortality may be anywhere from 0.4 to 4%. Thus, 1-2% is still a pretty good number.

@AnneWimsey Several categories of biochemical differences may be seen between 'races'. The DNA is different, buy these difference are extremely slight. Note, I don't acknowledge that different races exist. Perceptions of races are based on superficial characteristics that are almost never significant. However, those differences DO reflect biochemical and genetic differences. Different people have different Human Leukocyte Antigens, and these associate with different gene sets that may be marshalled against infections. The many types of HLA's are not evenly distributed across the world, and do associate with different demographics. While these different genes may make a difference when fighting an infection, they only rarely impact organ or blood donation. Matching HLA does reduce organ rejection. Some Blacks have sickle cell anemia genes that provide improved survival against sleeping sickness. From the CDC: The U.S. incidence estimate for sickle cell trait (based on information provided by 13 states) was 73.1 cases per 1,000 black newborns, 3.0 cases per 1,000 white newborns, and 2.2 cases per 1,000 Asian or Pacific Islander newborns. The incidence estimate for Hispanic ethnicity (within 13 states) was 6.9 cases per 1,000 Hispanic newborns.

From the article: "There is no genetic test that can predict Covid-19 risk. " Even though the article notes the higher mortality among non-whites. While some of that mortality may be linked to poor health factors derived from non-white culture or lower economics. The author asserts without evidence that it is due to spread within low-income locations. I would counter, without evidence, that non-whites may well be more susceptible for purely genetic reasons. The history of disease spreading and inflicting high mortality among indigenous peoples is also well recorded. If whites are more successful at surviving Covid, it is more likely to be PARTLY due to whites having encountered similar diseases in the past. Those past pandemics would have killed off the more susceptible gene carriers.

I have heard no mention that the videos show any resistance on the part of Floyd. Disinformation is a major activity and, as soon as the cabal began to be identified, they set about to change the definition to describe all nature of government employees, as often as not, the front line workers like the diplomats seen in the House hearings. The claim that religion isn't at war against science flies in the face of current events where the evangelical champion had badly damaged the country. Plainly he derives significant motivation from his own anti-science hatred, though some of that is probably red meat for his base. That's the point; his base loves every instance where science is disrespected, even if it means losing a loved one. That's eff'd up. But claiming Christians aren't at war against science is also eff'd up. Have you seen the figures on how much they spend on anti-science campaigns? Science certainly has no such war chest. racocn8 replies on Apr 30, 2020:
I must admit, I don't know the definitions of the different labels. However, Trump had been briefed about pandemics several times before Covid hit, and issued tweets against Obama's handling of Ebola, so he was familiar with the threat. Trump even proposed that the U.S. should let the pandemic 'wash over' the country, neglecting the million-plus mortality of that strategy. Even so, he has consistently slow-walked every response and put profiteering ahead of measures to slow the virus. That is not mere negligence nor 'very negligent'; It is depraved indifference. Perhaps criminally insane? Per Wikipedia: The elements of common law murder are that it is 1) unlawful 2) killing 3) through criminal act or omission 4) of a human 5) by another human 6) with malice aforethought. While some aspects are debatable, Trump's indifference or raw hatred toward others is translatable to malice. Plainly he has facilitated the pandemic by the Omission of acting to coordinate testing, for just one example. Manslaughter is murder in the moment, being mitigated by provocation or other emotional compromise. Between the two, and knowing Trump, I am inclined to stick with murder.

@Beowulfsfriend @Drew69 Timeline: Trump produced numerous tweets criticizing Obama’s handling of the Ebola outbreak, so Trump had understanding and concern about pandemic outbreaks. He later took similar actions that he criticized Obama for. In 2015, Obama’s Susan Rice established the White House Global Health Security and Biodefense unit tasked with being responsible for pandemic preparedness. In 2017, the Obama administration walked incoming Trump administration officials through a pandemic scenario. Officials were told a pandemic would likely lead to shortages of ventilators. In May 2018, the GHSB pandemic preparedness team was disbanded and its head Timothy Ziemer, left the Trump administration. On January 29, 2019, the DNI (Director of National Intelligence) issued an annual report that warns on page 29 that, “The United States will remain vulnerable to the next flu pandemic or large-scale outbreak of a contagious disease that could lead to massive rates of death and disability, severely affect the world economy, strain international resources, and increase calls on the United States for support.” In 2019, from January to August, the U.S. Dept. of Health and Human Services conducts a simulated exercise with 12 U.S. States to respond to a severe influenza pandemic originating in China. The study found confusion between HHS, FEMA, and the Department of Homeland Security on which federal agency would take the lead in the crisis and that the US lacked the production capacity to meet the demands for protective equipment and medical devices. The published findings were completely ignored by Trump and the White House staff. A few months later, symptoms from the first cluster of confirmed cases in Wuhan emerged and began to be documented between Dec. 8 and Jan. 2. WHO was notified on December 31. On Jan. 22, A reporter asks Trump if there are worries about a pandemic. Trump responds: “No. Not at all. And we have it totally under control. It’s one person coming in from China, and we have it under control. It’s — going to be just fine.” Sometime toward the end of January 2019, Trump suppresses release of the next annual report from the DNI and it is never released. On January 29, Peter Navarro warned Trump that the pandemic would incur trillions of dollars in losses. The White House forms a coronavirus response task force. Jan. 30: The WHO declares a global health emergency. Trump blocks some travel from China. There was never a travel ban, only restrictions with gaping exceptions that included Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau, and every American returning home from China. Trump did not act before everybody else. Yet we must not fail to comprehend its grave implications. Our toil, resources and livelihood are all involved; so is the very structure of our society. Second, as it supposedly occurred 26 years ago, surely the accuser has some other tangible written account of the incident that pre-dates this election year. Otherwise, yes, her credibility, along with the other Biden accusers, is strongly suspect. Given Biden's status as the presumptive nominee, it is notable that none of these accusations hold water, and are in no way comparable to the dozens of accounts that have been validated against Trump. Pretty great, but too sadly true.
So I guess it was all about a pic of an American flag with no comment.
DenoPenno comments on Feb 3, 2020:
It's hard for me to believe that Trump ordered this strike. What I think really happened is that those in our war room came up with the idea and said Trump could look tough for re-election if they said it was all his idea. It's hard for me to imagine Trump ordering more than a hooker or a sandwich.
racocn8 replies on Apr 9, 2020:
The advice had been consistently against this strike for years. Trump did it as a favor to the Saudis.
I hope people remember in November
Freedompath comments on Apr 7, 2020:
It is just too sad...there isn’t enough anger to properly address the negligence and stupidity that allowed this to become more than it could have been! I am lucky to still be here writing this post, but so many of our Country men/women are no longer with us because of this government debacle! ...

Not stupid. Intentional. Keep watching.
I think I like being the pariah here, so I'm about to make another infamous post.

If a mosquito lights on your arm you ought not shoot it with a shotgun. Measured responses are enough.

How about if it's a bee and you're allergic without an epipen.
Do masks help stop the spread? This video might say: "somewhat..." [digg.com]

racocn8 replies on Apr 6, 2020:
Thanks for that. I suspected as much. As the video shows, most of the particles hang around in unventilated spaces and are small enough to get through masks. Increasing ventilation seems to be much more useful than wearing masks. Fresh air or scuba are probably best, but very costly and thus scarcely practical...
If you really want to learn about religion without going to church or listening to a preacher then ...
Surfpirate comments on Apr 5, 2020:
I think it would make an interesting study to see just how many kills can be attributed to each religion; not down to the last corpse of course but just in round numbers, Say a Million. I'd put my money on the Xstians, they are the most vile and uncivilized of the bunch in my estimation but I'll ...
racocn8 replies on Apr 5, 2020:
One should include cults of personality. In many Asian countries, the absolute subservience that is demanded by authoritarians like Mao, Kim Jong's and the Japanese emperors seem alien, but they are accepted by those cultures. The body counts get pretty high for those. Because the leaders don't follow conventional religions, they are denounced as atheists by other religionists. The conveniently ignoring the religious cult aspects of the organizations. Cults of personality certainly overlap religious and political organizations, as we see with Trump and Hitler.
The National Security Council Gave Trump a 69-Page Pandemic Plan Three Years Ago — He Ignored It
racocn8 comments on Apr 4, 2020:
And then last year in August, a pandemic simulation was conducted and results written up. It was also ignored, supposedly. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crimson_Contagion Do you start to see a pattern? Significant interest in the effects of a pandemic, but no interest before or after in ...

@Sticks48 Their end game is Control and Power. Control through intimidation and impoverishment. And further decimation. Soften up the population for martial law, authoritarianism, totalitarianism, and eventually, enslavement. Like Trump, they don't care.
