Four months ago, the Pentagon had representatives testify in front of Congress, but it was more gaslighting. One officer claimed that the hundred-some objects that buzzed the USS Russell were drones, but didn't know whose they were. The problem is that these objects were originally monitored at 20,000 feet, stayed aloft for hours, and displayed no engines, control surfaces or propellers. That certainly is some impressive drone technology. Russia's? China's? Our own? The policy of gaslighting and lying has always been deployed to preserve the idiotic Christian mythology which is such a valuable and important part of our culture. (Barf).

By limiting the number of people who can become doctors, the medical profession has ensured that a some portion of doctors are mainly interested in the wealth and income. That de-emphasizes quality of care in a major way. The same for the insurance companies who, faced with more need than their service can supply, turn health care into an assembly line. My wife's shrink destroyed our marriage with his incompetence (prescribing an anti-depressant that killed her libido, and not telling us the side effect or checking back). I've found doctors to be rarely able to address the root cause of problems. Being able to cure many problems must await further research. Where a cure is known, they usually don't mind actually helping someone. However, just two days ago a friend bitterly complained that the local hospital sought to release a homeless man from ER before even making a diagnosis! If they had made a diagnosis, they'd be compelled to keep him and deal with his many problems. If there's no money to be made, to hell with the Hippocratic Oath.

This level of corruption of SCOTUS has never been seen before, even though the history of SCOTUS is as ugly as the rest of US history. The partisan SCOTUS is it's own constitutional crisis in how the justices were illegitimately seated, and are now violating their oaths. Taking a wrecking ball might be cute for the Conservative GQP, but the damage is all too real and reveals a level of dishonesty that requires intervention. Either intervention or a rapid descent into fascism.
There have been, on average, 11 mass shootings per week so far this year in the USA.
racocn8 comments on Jul 6, 2022:
Even though Crimo threatened to kill family members, police only seized his knife collection, and didn't charge him, By not charging him, he didn't get flagged when he bought the rifles. Also, Crimo's father assisted in the purchasing. Both Crimos are Trumpers. The shooter frequented far right wing websites, but the media repeatedly reported that this was not a hate crime. Given the much higher percentage of Jews living in Highland Park, saying Crimo wasn't motivated by religious hatred is absurd. Again, This isn't about guns. It's about fascist Christians having found a way to intimidate the rest of the population without consequences. Mass shootings serve the GOP purpose of intimidating minorities that lean democrat: students, Blacks, Hispanics, Jews, Asians and LBGTQ that the GOP would like to disenfranchise. They all happen to be the targets of mass shooters. This is NOT a coincidence.

As bright as these women are, half of them are alcoholics. The not-so-bright ones are alone because their suitor must have one or more of the following: 1. They must share the exact same shallow, pallid tastes in music and art. 2. They mustn’t hike, camp or do anything physical; everything must be 4-star hotel-based. 3. They must go to church and be just as idiotically obedient to the Bible as she imagines herself to be. 4. They must, like 3 above, be able to spend most of their time in a gym, etc. A third of them can’t produce a clear smiling photo. A quarter of them take pains to disguise their girth using head shots and clownish clothes. Two/fifths of them look nice enough, but do their best to conceal severe personality disorders. That is exactly what gun nuts are all about. Except that in their case, they base their notion of what is genetically inferior on race AND religion. They (sometimes secretly) believe White Aryans are superior genetically, based on Hitler-era propaganda/lies. They throw in the inferiority of religion, so Jews and Muslims can be mowed down. Gun violence serves the mindset of the White Christian Nationalists, and guns are idols to be worshiped in their cult. They are a cancer.

Just as big an issue are the economics in poorly developed regions. Poverty motivates people to hunt animals like monkeys, bats and pangolins, enabling exposure to Covid and other viruses. I've read that many other parts of the world suffer much less because they have retained certain Neanderthal genes that effectively confer a low level of illness from Covid. From the maps I've seen, the Neanderthal genes haven't been retained by Europeans, even though most Neanderthal remains have been recovered in Europe.

They mostly aren't running the country, but rather, either scamming the voters on behalf of their patrons, or running it into the ground. For those unfamiliar with Delta-8,... The hype and excitement over CBD ran into disappointment when the pandemic struck. Numerous farmers hoping to make a fortune found no market waiting. Scratching their heads over all the surplus CBD, they found that with acid conversion, CBD can change to Delta-8 THC, which, unlike CBD, is psychoactive. They also derived several other cannabinoids. https://www.fda.gov/consumers/consumer-updates/5-things-know-about-delta-8-tetrahydrocannabinol-delta-8-thc and an old blog: Delta-8 THC, Delta-10, THCOA, & Bath Salts What is Delta-8 THC? The cannabis plant makes Delta-9 THCA (Tetrahydrocannabinolic Acid). Over time or upon exposure to heat, THCA converts to Delta-9 THC. If the THCA is extracted, acid can convert the THCA to THC. However, if the exposure is allowed to continue, the Delta-9 form converts to Delta-8 THC. Growers have selected hemp plants to produce CBD, which is known to have a broad variety of medicinal effects with very low toxicity and with no intoxicating effects. Thus, CBD has been used in a variety of both topical products and edible products. However, economic fluctuation and over-production resulted in producers looking for other uses. Chemists found that CBD can be converted to THC, except that doing so resulted in the production of Delta-8 THC. Other chemical manipulation generates Delta-10 THC. The designations of ∆8, ∆9 and ∆10 all refer to the location of a double bond within one of the THC ring structures. As the presence of a double bond means that two-fewer hydrogen atoms are present, one might describe the difference as a change in location of bonded hydrogen atoms. ∆8-THC produces intoxication similar to ∆9-THC, but with only 50-65% of the strength. Users report that ∆8-THC produces less anxiety than ∆9-THC. ∆8-THC also provides anti-nausea and anti-inflammatory effects. Anecdotal reports describe Delta-10 THC as not having intoxicating effects, but as enhancing one’s mood. However, Delta-10 THC is not a naturally occurring cannabinoid. As a synthetic drug, it may fall under the regulations seeking to outlaw bath salts (K2 and Spice). It is probably safer than bath salts which are illegally manufactured, may contain residual chemicals, and can cause harmful effects. Chemists describe synthetic Bath Salts as cathinones, stimulants that are related to amphetamines and cause effects similar to cocaine and methamphetamine. Substance abuse experts link Bath Salts with psychiatric problems. In 2011, DEA received an increasing number of reports from poison control centers, hospitals and law...

Maybe watch Fox News once a quarter to be reminded of how deeply hate and stupidity go.

I blocked Matias about a month ago for being an asshole. I see that a number of Saud's post replies disappeared, but I can still see the posts. I can only suppose he deleted them? Whatever.
So let me see if I've got this straight.

Biden should unpack the court. Or, he can shut it down. The Republican justices have violated their oaths and their loyalty to the country to further their religious agenda. That kind of sedition deserves the most severe penalty, even if it isn't outlined in the constitution. This judicial coup needs to be deeply investigated and stopped.

racocn8 comments on Jul 1, 2022:
Star Trek interests me in the idea of seeking to portray an interplanetary ecology of intelligent species. It projects Humanity as being one among many intelligent species exploring the Universe. Compare what might be to what seems to be... If one supposes UFO reporting to be nominally accurate, more than a few species visit this planet, mostly complying with a Prime Directive of non-interference. If more than a few species visit, that suggests alien societies achieve a level of stability that enables them to pursue interstellar exploration. The technological prowess demonstrated by UFO reporting are very suggestive: high-speed right-angle turns, transiting ocean waters as if the water wasn't there, transiting air without a shock wave, vertical climb or descent, all with no lift surfaces and no visible means of propulsion. Also surprising is how many different kinds of craft are seen.

Testifying against evil in front of Humanity means she painted a giant target on her back for the rest of her life. That appears heroic. Maybe it wasn't heroic, but was simply stupid. One doesn't keep company with cowardly fascist thugs unless one is also degenerate. The bigger problem is that the GQP still identify as supporting Trump against any democrat. Indeed, the GQP now sanctions lawless anything goes, and even violence; whatever it takes to regain power. No rules can't be broken, and destroying government functions is deemed a desirable by-product. It's a suicide pact set up by the GQP, which operates from a martyr complex psychology. They're ready to die because they think heaven awaits. Mostly, they don't think about it and instead recite Fox memes...
Falling into the (non) religious trap?

What part of your post has correspondence with reality? I see little fealty to Dawkins or Harris; some respect them, others hate them. If you've spent any time with other non-believers, you know that they are extremely diverse and group-think is not applicable. Can you point to an example of groupthink? Where are you getting these notions?

On #3, Stone had a relationship with both the Proud Boys and the Oath Keepers militias. It was never believable to suppose Trump didn't know guns would be and were be present. Being armed is what 'militia' means. As for prosecuting Trump, apparently these shitheads are putting out the notion of "Prosecutorial Discretion" wherein a decision to prosecute includes consideration of "what is good for the country." What that translates into is that the compromised DOJ can dismiss justice in favor of maintaining a tiered justice system. (Maintaining immunity for the wealthy who have bribed DOJ officials who are so badly underpaid, and support Trump). USA-RIP

She shouldn't talk. Evangelical Women who supported Trump in 2016 voted against their own interests. Democratic Women were poorly represented at the polls as well. Certainly, misogyny played a significant part in Hillary's loss. Hillary shouldn't have run if she couldn't win. Our nation is poorly served if the centers of power arrange to field candidates that lose. Hillary may have been competent in some ways, but she was not well, the campaign failed in several critical states, and she alienated Progressives and motivated Republicans.

Whether it's Roe or Trump, Democrats only get as much blame as is left after denouncing the Republicans. Clearly many people who would vote Democrat simply don't vote, and that has also given Republicans margins in the legislatures and Congress. In 2016, minorities, Women and Progressives gave a poor turnout, regardless of the excuses. Kudos to Stacy Abrams for showing what is possible.

Religion causes brain damage. That damage translates into antisocial, psychosis and predatory behavior.

We need to start thinking about what kinds of consequences need to be imposed to discourage the religionists from taking over government bodies. Attrition of their numbers is good, but I want payback.
