As a confidential informant, Trump received special dispensation from the DOJ for decades. Why Do We Forget? New Theory Says “Forgetting” Is Actually a Form of Learning
racocn8 comments on Jan 17, 2022:
Clearly one form of forgetting is an active process. Specifically (for me), unless I work to remember dreams, the memory is suppressed until forgotten. The act of trying to remember is like a request for recall, and my brain may or may not comply, and may take several minutes to comply if it can. One time upon waking, I knew I had an extensive dream experience. I tried and tried to remember what it was. My unusual reward for trying so hard was to have the dream recalled in an extremely rapid fire recollection. It seemed the repeated attempts to recall caused the unusually rapid memory. Very strange!

Maybe we learned that elusive phenomena will require a lot more effort to reveal anything. racocn8 comments on Jan 14, 2022:
The designations of ∆8, ∆9 and ∆10 all refer to the location of a double bond within one of the THC ring structures. ∆8-THC produces intoxication similar to ∆9-THC, but with only 50-65% of the strength. Users report that ∆8-THC produces less anxiety than ∆9-THC. ∆8-THC also provides anti-nausea and anti-inflammatory effects. Anecdotal reports describe Delta-10 THC as not having intoxicating effects, but as enhancing one’s mood. However, Delta-10 THC is not a naturally occurring cannabinoid. As a synthetic drug, it may well fall under the regulations seeking to outlaw bath salts (K2 and Spice). These cannabinoids are probably safer than bath salts, but they both can contain residual chemicals which could cause harmful effects. In 2011, DEA received an increasing number of reports from poison control centers, hospitals and law enforcement. Smoking supply stores commonly stocked these materials in the early 2000’s, but legislation reduced their availability. Obama signed a Federal ban on ‘Bath Salt’ drugs in 2012. Another synthetic pathway produces Delta-9 THCOA which stands for a Delta-9 THC with an acetate group attached. Producers also generate THCOA from hemp, and claim that it is legal according to the language in the 2018 Farm Bill. However, as this drug is psychoactive like THC, not naturally occurring, and synthetic, it may just as easily be interpreted as being covered by the Bath Salts ban. Consumers report the experience as being relaxing, again perhaps having less paranoia like Delta-8 THC. Colorado stores sell it, but its legal status remains uncertain. It comes down to enforcement and whether someone in authority chooses to enforce the law. As few people are going to emergency rooms from these cannabinoids, not much pressure exists to write laws to specifically outlaw them. The Farm Bill of 2018 only legalizes whole plant hemp derived products, and these synthetically created drugs should still be illegal under Federal Law. Again, rarely enforced in the states.

Which is to say, unreasoned (politically motivated) opposition to public health policies has no standing and is despicable, whether it comes from trailer trash or degreed assholes.
