Diabetes is a very individual journey. The things that affect my blood sugar may or may not affect yours. What made me diabetic in the first place is probably different from what made you diabetic. So, that said, best thing to do is a food and meter diary. Once you've kept track of what you're eating and what it does to your glucose you can cut the things that make your readings high. For me those things are potatoes, bananas, grapes and orange juice. Fast food fries might as well be called poison sticks. A small order of fast food fries would make my fasting reading go up and stay up for a full 3 days. There are other foods that make my glucose go up but those four are the worst. At one point I was even on insulin. I left my husband and ended up in a building with two wicked sets of stairs. I lost a good 20 pounds doing stair laps and got off insulin. I wore that pair of shoes totally out and haven't been able to find another pair or I would still be doing laps up and down the stairs. I have lost another 10 since I quit doing the stair laps but it comes off a lot slower. But I am diabetic and I will not wear shoes that make my feet unhappy.

To start with my job had a lot more people working there and there was a whole lot of bs that went on. I stayed out of it as much as possible and just did my job. So now, all them bitches are gone and I still have a job I like. It did help a lot that when I started a very old friend worked there too. I'm not sure I would have stayed as long as I have if I hadn't had an ally thru some of the bs that's happened. The best advice I can give is to step back and evaluate your whole situation. If you have to stick it out for a while try to stay out of as much drama as you can. If you don't have to stick it out, tell them to stick it!!

Yay, free heat. I have giant windows. As long as it's a sunny day my apartment will stay pretty comfortable without heat or a/c. It also helps a lot if the wind blows from the north. There are entities, like cities and electric cooperatives, that won't pay that fee since online payments are for your convenience. They're going to pay the employee anyway. I know that the rural co-op here won't take debit or credit cards even at the window.

I haven't got my heat out yet. It was chilly in here this morning so I turned the oven on. I wouldn't be surprised if I don't have to get one of my space heaters out later this week though since it's going to be cloudy and I won't get any heating from the sun. I have huge windows and as long as the sun shines and the wind blows from the north, it's pretty comfortable in here during the day.
