Your nutrition can do a couple of things: 1) Your cells have a life span and that as you get older they begin to degrade and become less viable. Often they not express themselves so long as you are healthy and maintain a strong immune system. However, if you are exposed to an extended period of environmental stress (any stress that you experience), your immune system weakens. When it weakens, it opens up the possibility that a hidden gene may get turned on. The gene expression is suddenly strong enough to express itself, where before the immune system suppressed it. But food does not alter your genetics. Radiation does, random genetic drift does, major changes in environment and stress may set your prodigy up for an alteration, but it won't change your genetics.

Let's start by stating a primary tenet to the Republican Party platform. Republicans believe in fiscal responsibility, leading to lesser central governmental control. Well, given that at that time of Reagan, almost all of the economy was held and controlled by white males, of course they wanted less outside interference. Less interference meant they could continue to control the counties wealth. I went back to school at age 54. It was for a PhD, after a 20 year hiatus following my Masters. I graduated at age 60 with my degree. That may be a little different from what you are experiencing. If at age 35, this is your first foray back into formal education since high school, your challenges are different. The advantage to returning at your age is wisdom and experience. You've been out there in the real world and have accumulated lots of information that should aide in your motivation. One, you now have the wisdom and experience to know what you don't want and what hasn't worked for you on your journey in life. Second, you have more discipline than you might otherwise have, a lot of it related to the knowledge of what this moves means for you. It will be challenging and replete with difficulties. But the end goal is a more marketable you. A chance to move your life in a direction you choose as opposed to be dependent on the whims of the economic tide.

Obama brought us back economically from the brink. Its amazing how Republicans conveniently forget the Great Recession that Obama inherited upon entering office. When Trump took office the economy had stabilized and was slowly and steadily growing. It is true, growth had plateaued wasn't growing as fast as many wanted. It's also true that many economic indicators improved. Some of that is the optimism attendant with a new Aministration. Some of it relates to the short term gain by the role back of regulations (albeit short sighted and detrimental in the long haul). Wages are up, but that had stagnated for at least two decades, so an increase was long overdue. Unemployment is down, but the type of jobs that were created are lower paying and mostly service industry. They are the type of jobs that do not pay benefits, are not fulltime (a purposeful method to avoid having to offer benefits by claiming they are not fulltime employees). Black and Hispanic employment is truly up, but it was so far below the national average, that it only took a few job increases to positively improve the numbers. Many people at it below the poverty line still need two or three jobs to survive. Trump's supposed economic improvements haven't changed that fact for many on our society. The marginal improvements experienced by most people as a consequence of the Republican Tax Cut is waning and beginning disappear. The percieved advantage to the Middle class has just about tun its course. Another year and the benefits will no longer exist.
