I think I just proved Darwin wrong. Is it me or are complete idiots breeding at a much faster rate than intelligent people? Look at the tide pod challenge. I thought this was a joke at first. I've heard of similar, and equally stupid... I have a friend like this. He once decided that it would be a good idea to shoot a pop bottle rocket from his butt crack. I wasn't there when he did it, but I saw the video. It was only a few seconds long. Basically what happened is that when someone lit the fuse, he had hot embers fall on his cheeks. This caused some unforseen problems. Well, that caused his cheeks to sqeeze, hence the rocket never went upward. To exasterbate the issue, the rocket was moving side to side like like a metronome at 300 BPM! Burned him worse. Then the firecracker went off. That is the most blood-curtling scream I ever heard! I got to admit it was funny, but this guy has 2 kids. Is this the byproduct of bad parenting (why I'm posting this here), or are people just stupid and breed? I know of a few people that have 5-6 kids and are dumb as boxes of rocks! Not that bad granted. I've got a new challenge! The cinder block challenge! 1) Get a cinder block. 2) hold it 6" above your head. 3) let it drop on your head! Great fun! If this is the way humanity is going, we're fucked.

Now if someone dies from sheer stupidity before they can reproduce then they get a Darwin Award.
Also, genius intelligence may have a evolutionary benefit for the species as a whole, but not necessary for the individual.

Actually Darwin is right. What is happening is the less educated or poor people are more suited to reproduce in this particular environment.
I believe the you are if you’re referring to his survival of the fittest Which Darwin never said but Herbert Spencer did after reading Darwin.

That's what I was actually referring to. I'll have to wait till my internet on my computer is back up. I have a quote from Darwin that I'll copy and paste. Probably where Spencer got his line.
It's actually true--the less education a person has, the more kids they have. Numerous studies have shown this. Maybe Mother Nature is saying we're too smart for our own good?

For most of human history most of the population, 90% or more, was uneducated and agricultural. For most of human history, a third to a half of all people died in childhood, many in childbirth. It was consequently very advantageous to have a lot of children. You need children both to help with the farm and to survive long enough to take care of both the farm and you when you got old. Even before agriculture and domesticated herding, it was tribally advantageous to have a lot of children for hunting and gathering purposes. But this does not tend to be true in an urban setting. For people in an urban setting, a lot of children can be an immense financial drain, especially if you are sending them to college, that lowers the quality of life for the entire family involved.
Also, more educated people tend to free themselves, even if on some level they may stay religious, from whatever religious obligation they may have been taught to populate without restriction since it conflicts with their quality of life.
Don't confuse intelligence with education.
@OldDave Quite true--very good point. People can be stupid for different reasons & it's usually not a choice they make.
Are you familiar with the Darwin Awards? You have to kill yourself through your own stupidity in order to 'win' one. I know it's a bit crass to laugh at what these idiots do to kill themselves, but you have to give them points for creativity -- one such award was earned for a do-it-yourself attempt at liposuction with a vacuum cleaner hose!

Oh yeah I've heard of them. Have you ever watched the show 1000 Ways To Die? Some of these people are incrediably stupid! I know it's morbid, but it's all true, and most make me have no faith in the human race. Some on there were just very unlucky.
@TheGreatShadow I've seen that show. Most were just really not thinking.
