What About Mandatory Mental Health Classes in Schools?
Maybe.... hmmm.... you want the team to tell the coach hes to harsh? Or tell the teachers to they need a moment....lol.
Would be nice to, but I'd never get away with it!....lol
I’m for it if the students learn about the horrific side effects of psychotropic drugs.
Also, the students should study in detail “Help Yourself to Happiness” by Maxie Maultsby Jr., or similar literature.
Hmmm. The founder of AA admitted to using LSD to overcome alcohol addiction and wanted to propose it as the 13th step to sobriety.
I did many hallucinogens in my day and what they did for me is help me to see a different side to life I wouldn't have seen otherwise.
Not all psychotropic drugs have 'horrific' side effects. That would only start another pseudo science cult like the 'anti-vacs'
@buzz13 Agreed.
@Kimberclimbs As far as I know, LSD is not a psychotropic drug. I’m talking about the legal drugs prescribed by psychiatrists.
@Kimberclimbs, @buzz13 You are probably right. In some cases drugs might be necessary. Hopefully their use would be minimal and temporary. I’m not an expert on that subject, but I do have some experience. I recently read “Rethinking Maddness” and other books on the subject. I think a rebellion is brewing against routine dosing of people.
This is certainly necessary to teach children, but having a whole course for it would take a lot of time. Just teach kids the physical and decisional component of how mental illness is brought about, but explain it to them in a way that actually talks about the subject matter. Basically, teach them Maslow's Hiearchy, and they should be fine.
Usually, I don't like any suggestion that contains the word "mandatory". But I am inclined to think this is a good idea.
Those things that enable one to function in a society and provide self reliance should be mandatory.
The prep school I went to had a health and fitness classroom curriculum which was required.
I also did.
I definitely think it should be mandatory to have a mental health screening before purchasing a gun
