Death is caused by ignorance

She was my late partner and when she was dying she sent a message of no tears and no prayers. She only wanted positive vibes around her. I like to tell people, even though she was a life long atheist, Lopez (this island) was her heaven.

I don't think religion can be fought. It just makes it stronger. But religion is attacking atheism. It is unequal and unfair.

I believe the only effective response to the attacks coming from religion is a passive defensive response.

Religion is a hornets nest.

It can't be fought by saying 'BAN RELIGION!'

That just makes theists dig their heels in.

The way you fight religion is through explanation of the absurdities inherent in it. Sure, hard core theists will STILL dig their heels in (there's little hope for then anyway) but those whose inclinations to faith are not absolute - and who still have questions to ask, and doubts to explore, and for whom evidence is still of value - THEY will, perhaps, think.

Religion would be OK if it was only a minority of evangelicals. That would be a problem that can be restrained and handled. It's the much larger number of 'non-extreme, normal, good christians' who, by their own faith, support and normalise the extreme that are the problem. Those are the people we need to educate, so that they start to see what they 'nicely' support.

@ToakReon

Do you know what happens when you ban it?

If you look at history you'll see.

It makes it grow stronger. It has the opposite effect.

@Ellatynemouth I agree. That, Ella, is why I said it CAN'T be fought by saying 'ban religion'.
