Bummed that the US pissed it down their leg. Mexico will not fail to disappoint I'm sure lol.

Oh buddy, I am very likely way ahead of you in the walk of life, therefore I have more disappointments on my memories than I can bear to keep. Last World Cup was IT and to get that close to blew it that way a couple of minutes...aghh .... Let's bring it back to life, here it goes #NoEraPenal ⚽??

I had a roommate/friend who liked soccer and the German national team. He was from Iowa where there are a lot of people with German ancestry. The first World Cup I watched was in 2010 with this friend and others. Since then I've cheered for Germany. There game against Brazil in the 2014 World Cup (7-1) was amazing!!

I have been watching the world cup since I remember. Brasil was the dream team for every kid. Then you grow old and realize how some of the whole pie is bussines and at times it looks like there is leverage to push certain teams. I would've thought Brasil was setup to win it all since they were the host country. That German slaughter was unexpected, I couldn't believe it. Its in the books now

Not a fan of the sport or the global effort about the sport. I rather dance with a woman than with a ball. But that is just me. Pardon my lack of knowledge or interest on the sport.

I'm the same haha

That's fine, no one is saying you have to like it. It is actually interesting to learn why you don't

@IamNobody Coming from a "poor" culture I understand why 3rd world is enchanted by the sport and see it as the equal level arena. A ball and flat land, all is needed along with dreams. But we used that flat land to play baseball in Puerto Rico instead. Grew up playing baseball and basketball. And believed or not the first sport I remember ever did was boxing. We boxed in the streets with 16 ounced gloves, no headgear or mouthpiece, a round lasted as long no car coming and in a good round the car will have to wait. We played baseball with a tennis ball and a broomstick. We played baseball with a 25 cent rubber ball, we played baseball with a ball made of our socks. We played baseball. And I don't follow sports anymore. I am down to the last team I follow Jacksonville Jaguars (american football). But to those baseball fans they will understand why players from Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic and Cuba why they are such great "bad ball hitters". YOU CAN NOT GET OUT OFF THE ISLAND WALKING! Enjoy your world championship. Not in my DNA even if my daughter was one hell of a player in Spain and was the only female counted as a boy in a coed league due her skill level.

@GipsyOfNewSpain hey I hear you, there are plenty of options for all of us. Also, I'll tell you another secret... Colts fan here, rain or shine. Hang on here long enough, next thing we know it will be September. Looks like we could enjoy some friendly trash talking !!! Cheers !!

@IamNobody Now that Peyton is no longer the big elephant in the middle of the room... Yeah.

@GipsyOfNewSpain we have paid the price already...with Luck broken, there is not much hope. It was a great ride when Payton was the driver. But then again, as I've said rain or shine, go Colts

@IamNobody I salute you. Simple colors and uniforms. Classic, since Baltimore days!

@GipsyOfNewSpain oh Baltimore truly hate us, as much as (probably worst) we despise New England ?

@IamNobody And to think john elway could had ended being a Colt!!! And Money and only Money denied the action! Money exchanging hands is the only constant in Pro sports. The "dealio" of we gonna let the browns move to baltimore but can't take their records and we gonna give a new browns franchise the old browns franchise team records was My Proof of Absence of an Avenging god because an Old Loving god was debunked already. And then again Ravens winning SB before the Colts was Proof of a Loving god but then Colts winning SB was proof of an Avenging god. But Jaguars winning the Super Bowl with a Pakistani All-World Multi Sport owner will be The Fuck marvel, Fuck dc Real Apocalipse!

@GipsyOfNewSpain well the apocalypse may be near my friend .... Jaguars keep getting better and better. Anyhow, it's not just money. It's part of it. The best case scenario for Colts would've been to keep Payton until retirement as a mentor for Andrew Luck. That could not happen because of salary cap. The franchise have to spread the budget accordingly, they just couldn't allocate most of the pie for these two and something had to cave in. That's how Payton landed in Denver. Those seasons were as popular in Indy as in Denver.

@IamNobody Oh the decision when to let go of the GrandMaster. Remember Favre saying I am not mentoring anybody. Peyton is my "Good Guy" in football. Just biz, no other agenda just quarterbacking. NFL Royalty!

@GipsyOfNewSpain he is a good guy. We had a blast having him around all those years. It was something to watch.

@IamNobody Lucky you guys. Funny thing about football christians are their good guys. We had a couple christians Mark Brunell and Tony Boselli both disposed when team saw fit. Life in the nfl.

Russia vs. Saudi Arabia.

One of those odd games where you wish BOTH sides could loose.

Usually FIFA "helps" the host country with an easy match for the opening match. I would like to see anything but a boring 0-0

I don't have a say in who I support, I'm English so it's England. Hopefully we can represent ourselves better then in previous tournaments, there is an understated confidence that this will be our best tournament since Italia 90 but then given how we usually cock it up that won't be difficult lol

I would have thought all the usual suspects will be in the semis with a few interesting results and teams along the way. Egypt might get to the quarters, Belgium might finally fulfill their potential, maybe France will put it all together for the first time in a while.

World Cups always seem to go better if the host team has a good tournament but Russia have been lousy for quite a while and although their group appears straight forward I wouldn't be surprised if they don't make it out.

Supporting England is not about winning. Its not about taking part. Its about the pathetic hope dissolving into despair.

@ipdg77 All accounts, good observations and agree completely. I hope you're right about Belgium. Good team that for whatever reason they don't get too far.

What FIFA world cup, he,he.

Gee man, Russia has never been that good. 12 - 0 is not easy to achieve now a days, all teams have improved enough world wide to get some sort of balance and typically the opening match has been a dull 0-0 more times than not. However, anything is possible. Almost there, 6 more days !!!!! Excitement every 4 years. Will Germany hold on to the title? That's what I want to see.

@Nader agree, anything is possible. We are getting closer to find out. Enjoy the World Cup !!

@germangirl90439 well we will be screaming loud simultaneously at different places. Enjoy the World Cup !!! ⚽?

@germangirl90439 ahh that's where a DVR comes handy, the challenge is to stay away from everyone to avoid spoiling the results

@Nader well you were almost spot on !!! Russia 5 Saudi Arabia 0..... The world cup is on its way !!!! ⚽⚽⚽⚽?????
