LOL! Nope. They don't call'em pawns for nothing. You sometimes must sacrifice pawns, or other pieces to gain advantage.

Yes and yes.... pawns are key protection. Don't push your pawns are loose to many. Sac one and loose one. Just my opinion from a guy that hardly wins...lol.

No. In chess, the pleasure of the game is going through the different scenarios and solving the new problems that come with them. It's a mentally engaging game, it's not romantic, or emotional. Chess pieces are not little living creatures or whatever to be mentalized into friends and loved ones. Could it be a little stupid for a person to have this kind of a reaction? Could it be stupid for a player to think that he will definitely win a game with so much emphasis on one piece?
