Well, maybe; but since one person's music is another person's noise, it may be just as appropriate to say that each new genre builds another bridge, erects another border, and creates another subculture. No?

It's all about how you perceive the music since it really is all about taste. What I call music, some might hear it as something completely different.

Depends on the music. My parents hated most of the 60’s and 70’s music that we as kids loved.

Depends on the music. I’m actually becoming very tired of pop Rock, can’t tolerate Rap (or Hip Hop), and not big on a lot of modern stuff. Some but not much. Imagine Dragons is pretty good and so was Linkin Park.
